the best option for you right now is to join the war against the predator clan by doing hit and run tactics on their mining stations. by disabling their economy not only will they be unable to repair their fleet, but also have trouble building new ones.

As Amerish's military commander i agree with this plan however we should wait until the Predator clan makes it's move ether offensively or defensively and commits it's forces, this will lesson our losses.

A wise choice of actions would be to first aid our, and I say this hesitantly, allies in the Hegemony against our common foe. The next step should be to bring the primitives into the fold, but not enslave them. After all, only those who foolishly insult us and our ways should be put under the whip and in the chains! Which leads to the next point: those individualist Predators are everything we have come to fear whilst exploring the stars, prideful, arrogant, insulting, and dangerous to mankind. The only acceptable method of dealing with such beings is apparent: The whips or the Sword. Either enslavement or complete annihilation! My fellow humans, hear me! Let us smite these curs, and either bring them to heel, or crush them under it!

the empire has a history with slavery. if you want to remain true to the role of the empire shack, purge or slavery is the thing to do.

How do we intervene in the water between the themlar and the predators?
The dreadnaught.
IASR suggests to keep the system containing the ship under close surveillance without attempting to make any contact. This measure should continue until it will be possible to vanquish the ship and possibly disable its control system so that we might reprogram it.
We also suggest to join the offensive with relatively massive side by side strikes with the themlar fleet in order to break the predator defenses more easily. And of course claim some of their worlds once the war will be over.

I propose The Haahn treaty where we will take the civilizations planet by force or more peaceful terms and that we use tem as slaves and to provide entertainment for the people through gladiatorial combat. I agree on not intervening but watching the dreadnaught.

Though IASR has been drafting the concept for an virtual combat arena for the entertainment of our citizens.

Senator If I may say, the Themlar have a superior military sthrength than the predators, intervening alongside them would allow us to obtain some of predator worlds for certain, especially now that our military capacities are almost matched.
Obtaining new worlds also will be useful for when we'll need to face the Themlars afterwards.
Senator Servious Hmmm what you say it's correct. Matter is that this kind of war is completely fleet based, if an opponent has a significant edge, then victory can be certain by a significant amount.
Though we should probably built up our strength until our military will be powerful enough to exceed by a good amount the power needed to take down a starport, then declare war.

And the solution for the primite problem is a simple invasion with our new stormtroopers.

Dear great Emperor Shack I am the Sargent Michael of the Venture 1 Security Team though we are only a small group of soldiers we seven would like to thank you for deploying the Military Fleet to save use. We had stayed on the station as to ensure the egg heads could make it out on the escape pods with all their Research Projects as to keep the Empire advancing. Though now i sit in the med-bay, having been impaled getting Tabby In Boots to her escape pod I still see the Empire becoming a great force to be reckoned with even if I'm not there to see it for the severity of my wounds may or may not kill me. Hope this reaches you

Do good things with the primitives! Make them part of the empire/ally them. Also i was thinking "why go straight for empire?" I think you should go for peaceful then go full empire like they did from Clone Wars to Empire
Research takes longer with larger empires. Research costs are increased by 10% per colonized planet and 1% for every pop. It's why your blue laser tech took longer at 9:45. Also I would suggest avoiding colonizing planets on energy deposits if it is avoidable as the ship shelter will block it.

Now we are not ready for war. The Clan appears to have overextended, but we must wait; Attacking the predators is of no concern of ours yet. A war and occupation of their worlds could anger the Themlars, our only "Friends" but still a superior force to us.
Not only that, but the predator worlds appear to incompatible with us. However, If we must join, we should by the very least, get an active sensor link to the Themlars beforehand; When there main fleet is spent, or occupied, then we should strike.
However, remember the following; While I share you thoughts on the scum that lies on our borders, We must think of the empire first and foremost. We still have time, and we MUST use it. Our lust for blood may cost everything we fought so dearly to hold. Remember that...

MantersDoesGames, I agree that we should get active sensor links, but I think the war is inevitable. You care for the empire, so think of this. If the predators win (and yes I am aware that they are the underdogs, but so was Trump), we lose our future allies and have them replaced with a hostile threat. In addition, the Themlar would not be angered that we attach the Predators, and in fact, it might better our standing with them.
And yes, enslave the primitives.

captain thunderguy of the cruiser AVENGER..I agree 100% with the active sensor links but I think we also should hold off in joining the war until both sides r at their weakest and then join the fight with the themlars declaring war on the predators so we can claim a large portion of predators space as our own once the war is over..let's let the themlars waste through their fleet numbers and resources b4 entering the fray so when it's all said and done we will b the superior nation..

I think you should passively study the natives, wait till they have advanced a bit then go for aggressive (but don't do it for to long) and then infiltrate them and bring them into our Empire. This is one of my favorite things to do in this game.
if you just send one ground army to the primitives you will take there planet and they will join you empire you can then use that as a staging point for further expanision

This is a great chance to weaken them and prevent their spread. Not taking it has a genuine risk of letting the Predators dangerously grow in power. Make sure to play it safe though, regarding combat. They likely have far more economy to rebuild their fleet and sustain an attrition war (hence why the game still lists them as superior), so don't take any big risks that might lead to losing your own fleet. If things end up on the defensive, spaceports were considerably buffed in the big patch, and are by far your most cost effective means of defence at the moment. If assaulting their own stations is too dangerous, consider raiding their mining stations to divide their attention and hamper their ability to fight the Themlar. Every mining station costs them 90 minerals to replace, equivalent to a corvette, and will weaken their ability to endure the war.

You should take the war to the Clan. Not only would that eliminate your largest threat, but it could also make an ally out of the bugs. Remember, no matter what it accomplishes, the Predator always dies in the end.
Shack my advice to you is to back up the thelmar hegemony, the are already receptive to you, and if you support them im sure they will be grateful and be willing to negotiate peace. at the same time, no army can fight a war on two fronts, so eventually you will probably be victorious in the war. this way you take out a enemy and gain an ally all at the same time.

Hmm, I see great opportunity for the Empire in this current situation. We should attack the Predator Clan now while they are at war with the Themlar, BUT we shouldn't do it immediately. I suggest that we ask for Active Sensor Links for the Themlar and if possible, from the Predator Clan. This way we can see how the war fares and which side is winning, allowing us to determine when it is a good time to jump in.
The expansion towards the Polaris system is a smart move indeed, but I think that building a Frontier Outpost in the Kochab system will serve us greatly as well, for if we do we gain control of all of the Crossroads Nebula and not only that! We can build on Observatory Outpost in the system, allowing us to either study the natives or to possibly enlighten them. They will be out loyal Protectorates and Vassals and if we decide so, we can integrate them peacefully later. Their homeworld and ethics our both suitable for us and so we will be able to cooperate with them.
I do also suggest that we should focus on expanding our power and influence gain, and also for someone to work on that abandoned farm on New Terra so that planet's population can actually grow! This is all I have to say for now, but I am confident that what ever decision our glorious Emperor makes will be the right one.
I say we let the Themlar Hegemony fight for a bit than we join in to the fight as support because this is a war between the Themlars and predators not us.

Let them fight on their own in the beginning stages of the war, both sides will exhaust resources, giving the empire time to build up resources... then based on how the war proceeds..
Predator dominate; join the fight, attack from behind, seize territory and add to your empire, this will add to your resources, while also strengthening your position in the galaxy, and save face with your tentative alliance..
Hegemony dominate; again, attack from behind, gather resources and territory.. the goal is to rival the hegemony so they do not become dominant...
Both sides are weak; let them fight to the point of breaking, then launch a two pronged attack against both.. claim both territories as your own and seize the destiny that is the birth right of the Empire !!!

2v1, you need that southern territory of the predator clan empire, plus you may get extra rep with the bug people. By then you should be in position to smack the pirates right in the eye patch.
To be honest if I saw two superior unfriendly empire bordering the homeworld I would have just given up and started a new galaxy.
If I followed that policy, I'd NEVER be able to play ANY Stellaris games... ... ...best I can do is just convince them to at least leave me alone, at most convince them I'm not a bad guy...
Kamen Rider Genesis im on my 4th empire (they all went well) and none of them had that hard of a start. I dont give up easily but shacks empire is in such deep shit from the beginning that I probably wouldnt enjoy playing it. If he manages to keep his empire alive thats something he can be proud of and he will have my deep respect for it.

I second this notion. Primitive aliens are not worth the empires attention especially in this dire time where more of our resources could be devoted to a more useful purpose like building up the fleet.

Attack them on their back flank, and support the Hegemony. Could gain an ally, maybe even federate later. for later conquests. Besides, you're having issues *finding* new worlds.... So take theirs.
Remember that the Predators just got a new colony which wont have a spaceport. Hint, Hint... You can straight up get troops on that planet, significantly boosting your warscore and probably allowing you to claim said world. Also, can't the Predators colonize Tomb worlds or something? I mean you got a big one o those where your current outpost is, so if you were to colonize there you can save that 1 influence/month.
On what to do about the primitives: YOU ARE THE EMPEROR OF MANKIND! YOU SHALL TOLERATE NO WITCH, NOR HERATIC, NOR XENOS FILTH! HAIL TO THE EMPEROR! May his shining light guide us!
Now is the time to strike. While your enemy is distracted by the Themlar Hegemony, strike at their territory, especially their mining stations. Their mining stations are weak, and relatively undefended compared to your fleet. Overwhelm their stations with raw firepower to ensure their destruction. Cripple their economy, then go after their fleets if you so wish. Or you can let the Themlar Hegemony deal with their ships, allowing you to take significantly less casualties. This will ensure that, win or lose, the Predator Clan will have suffered a massive loss. While they are hemorrhaging resources and research, you can afford expansion, allowing for a massive military and technology buildup. By the time they return to prewar levels, well... In the second war, you will ensure that the Predator clan will never challenge your might ever again. This is, of course, relying on the fact they use mining stations as much as you do. If they rely more on planetary resources, a change of stratagem might be in order. Perhaps while their fleets are engaged by the Themlar, you blockade their planets and bombard them from orbit. Note: This method is FAR more effective if you change your fleet's bombardment policy from 'Light' to 'Limited" bombardment. This guarantees that all facilities on the surface will be inoperable during the bombardment/blockade. Regardless of my endless ability to ramble, my vote is: TO WAR!
Well I think you should take the safe route and let them both fight it out cause even if you were to defeat the predators and split half their territory the predators would most likely rebel and that would take a lot out of economy I say for now build up your fleet and your worlds then once you build up your worlds and ya have a somewhat stable economy then start expanding. Or ya could yolo it and help your allies take out the predators either way there is benefit and there are some downfalls to it but if ya decide to stay out of the fight and let them fight it out then if your allies win then I suggest staying cool with them till you are stronger and destroy those alien scum ALL HAIL THE EMPEROR!!! ALL HAIL THE EMPIRE!!!!!!

Attack Predators. May be wise to declare them as rivals first. Don't forget to upgrade your defense stations. Also I think you can conquer and claim the primitives' planet with troops. No need for uplifting or obsevation stations
We've got 99 problems in the empire and 99 of those can be solved by robotics. To get robots we need to research powered exoskeletons which provide benefits on its own and research robotics. Don't worry AI and all that stuff, these things are just mindless automatons, AI and advanced robotics come later
You definitely need to get involved against the predators. As you said, if the predators win, they will most likely become too strong for you to ever stop, and you won't have the potential support of the Thelmar anymore. Don't attack immediately, though; let the predators turn their full attention to the Thelmar, while you make final preparations for the fleet (maybe wait for the armor tech to finish), and decide exactly where you want to attack the predators and what you want to take from them.
Give it maybe 1-2 years while you make final preparations, but keep a close eye on the predators' and the Thelmar's respective fleet strengths during that time. If the predators' strength drops to lower than yours, or if it looks like the Thelmar are starting to lose, attack immediately.
As Military strategist and senator Saramander of the Amerish military command I think it is time we went to war and show them the might of the Empire. FOR THE EMPIRE!!!
The more colonies and populations you have the more reserch costs each planets give 10% from the 5%(im pretty sure) from 1.2 also populations i dont remember how it was changed
Join the fight. Together you'll crush them with your combined fleets, gain the favor of a more powerful civilization and expand your empire into the remnants of the predator's territory.
Never let a good crisis go to waste... wait just a bit to let the predators commit their fleets to the war, then ninja the 2 southern most planets out from under the Predators. Easy war goal and you don't need to get to 100% to end the war and claim the worlds. This is what I would do with a militaristic race. With a more peaceful race I would "Liberate" them instead. That will create a new empire that is favorable to you.. also changes the ethics of the new empire to match yours which makes it very easy to then ally with the "Liberated" worlds.

Grand Marshall Shacks, I propose that we should wait and observe the war doctrine of the predators and the themlars. Should we be contacted by the themlars for assistance than we engage the predators, in the mean time continue to build and advance both our glorious Navy and army.
suggestion for classes of defense station, base them on historical sheilds of varying effectiveness, the first wave is small sheilds placed by necessity over vital areas: Buckler class. the upgraded defence stations to ring the empire would be a wall of sheilds: Phalanx class. single specific defence for vital importance; aegis class
There's no use in putting armor on corvettes. It'll only be a small percentage of protection. Focus more on shields and evasion. The corvettes are designed to soak up hits away from your powerful ships

Don't join the war, the predators can't take on the egemony guys, after the finish fighting you can finish the weakened predator clan, I know it is a kind of dirty strategy but wasting all your force in taking the predators with those pirates hanging around in the south is a bad idea. And when you take the predators and kill those pirates you should aim for the dreadnought.
Need to complete those contact missions in the situation log. There are potential resources there that could aid the Empire! Also, what's in the Beta Caeli system to the southwest of the empire and west of the Crossroads Nebula?

I believe you should join the Themlar Hegemony in their war against the Predator Clan.
If you defeat the dreadnought you can get a research boost or make it join you, it is one of the weaker guardians but it is still very powerful early game

I am at 23min into the footage provided and I am duty bound to report on some.... Inefficiencies in the empire. Someone removed the farmers from the southern New Terra farms, and then some fool dropped the ball on the new Mine Deployment system for the new defense platforms. I will continue to provide updates as I watch.
