The time is NOW, my emperor! Strike against the weak Xenos while they have no ally! CRUSH them all! Take ALL their territory, enslave their people, and prove the superiority of the Empire!
Conquer the primitives! FOR THE EMPIRE! Just send a few troop transport. It will auto-declare war, and you'll expand your territory by a lot, (and you can delete your frontier outposts) Oh and by the way DECLARE WAR!
Our best approach for the good of the Empire would definitely be to enter a war against the Predator Clan and conquer it entirely. Although they are weak, the total defeat of the Clan would cause a ripple throughout the galaxy. Every form of life, whether known or unknown, will hear of the fall of this once great force, and look upon us with the respect and prestige our people rightly deserve. We would be the largest empire in the known galaxy, and a force to truly be reckoned with.
Also, It is highly recommended that we begin research on the primitive species as soon as we can. Although primitive, they are alien. For all we know, they could be more intelligent, though not as advanced, or stronger than the human race. I would recommend to closely monitor them for a decade or two, then, if it is deemed to be profitable to the Empire, we should fold them into our society. How you would go about this, My Lord, is entirely up to you.
I concur, Nothing but the 100% Subjugation and annexation of there Territory is acceptable. Increases our fleet size to max, we are 22/55. I recommend a build up of ships and troops, and a Promotion of a General.
Tegasa Hanssiro no you dont lol. I was able to use it when i was using kinetic weapons. the only issue is its jump drive but you can get jump drives in mid to late game no issues at all
*Director Zabala of the Imperial Security Bureau is in his office having a meeting with the holograms directors of all COMPNOR departemnts. Coalition for Progress Director: All's well in the progress department sir. The citizens of the Empire are pushing for war against the Predator Clans while they are pooling their fleets against the Themlar. Ship production is still pretty slow considering the resources that we lack. But we are seeing the strength of our army grow exponentially. I'm sure Improvements would have more information on that. Coalition for Improvements Director: Yes director, the number of imperial adolescences in the Stormtrooper Corps has jumped immensely on New Terra, armies are being organized now. We've also seen an increase in naval officers in the past few weeks. Overall enlistment is a plus sir. We are attempting to fit our ships with theist up to date technology, however we're not sure if it'll be sufficient to fight the aliens of the north. Atlantis Prime and Emperor's Landing are seeing a good number of improvements in turns of power production. CompForce Director: We've been building our numbers since war had been proposed to the public. The Sector Group has been working efficiently to organize our men ready to fight. Director Zabala: The ISB has been monitoring threats that would pose a threat to the Empire. The people seem to be united more than ever due to the influence of the Emperor. Nothing to flashy going on.
FYI Administrative AI is a prerequisite for point defense systems. If you want point defenses, always research this when it comes up in a game. Edit: It could be the Themlar do not have an army large enough to capture a predator planet. They seem to be focusing on building up their fleet. It takes 12-16 assault armies to capture a well defended planet. Since the Predators have no fleet nor space stations defending their planets, you could build up an invasion army and declare war on them and easily capture their planets.
This is doctor Jhonmary Len, of the imperial association for scientific research. I act as its representative in the senate. The imperial senate is now in session, please declare your generalities, including the party you represent. The agenda items are the following: How to deal with the predators now that their military power has been severely reduced. The expansion around Bihiram system. IASR suggests to raise our fleet power at at least 800, and then strike at the predator's clans and take at least the worlds nearing the frontier. Regarding the expansions while we agree that the extra territory would give us a considerable amount of minerals and research (since we'd probably gain access to the Vool homeworld) once the frontier outpost will be completed, our influence production will be crippled. We advise to devise an alternative way of generating influence before proceeding. Glory to the Empire and the mighty Emperor.
Senator Abe Ron of the Imperial Martial Progression Alliance. War with the Predator barbarians is inevitable and I believe it's time that we take action. We must dedicate our funds to building our military, our ships must be improved to meet, even surpass the predator fleets. We must begin drafts across all Imperial settlements recruiting anyone between 18 and 35 to fight in the Stormtrooper Corps. Military spending must be a top priority for the Senate. In regards to expansion, I believe the Senate should start with the logistics and organization efforts of occupation. At least until the war is in our favor.
Senator Arnold Bridge of the New Hope Party. First I believe we should leave war efforts to the Imperial Military. We'll end up bankrupt in resources if the Senate gets involved in the war against the Predators. should start implementing colonization efforts ourselves and begin collecting valuable resources and materials that can help us in the long run.
Senator, we would be fools not to take this advantage, with our barbaric rivals already weakened by the war, it would be an easy victory and show others the might of the empire. We could become the dominate power over all other known empires.
It has been four episodes without a war. increase the empire by talking at least half of the xenos territory and colonized some of the yellow world plants.
-Cpt. Randy Butternubs, at an Imperial Military Hearing, 2219/10/26 "We really need to find who's responsible for making these pirate fleets and make them work for us. TL;DR Take the planet. There is not much the Predator Clan could do to stop you from crushing them completely, they declared war on the Themlar and got their asses handed to them, and are currently losing a war to a single-planet empire. If you built 16 or so armies (be sure to equip them with hunter killer drones) and invaded, you could take their entire empire in under a year. This would however, give you a lot of border friction with the Themlar, though that is an unavoidable eventuality. The Predator Clan has been outright hostile since fist contact. As the mighty Galactic Empire, spreading the superiority of humanity is of the utmost importance, the pathetic, self-styled "Predators" deserve nothing more than to be a step on the Empire's stairway to Galactic Domination. Their will shall be broken, their remnants used as dumb labor to feed the might of humanity's inexorable conquest of the stars.
no he will need a bit more than 5k close to 10k i think if not more 15 to be safe i have seen a 22k go down to 10k fighting it sorry i just check it went down to 5k not 10 + tier 5 kinetic weapons and tier 1 kinetic batteries
BTW Emperor Shack, I've been donating 10 Imperial Credits/month since the last Stellaris cycle. I would like to be a Cruiser Captain, as promised, my Lord. When you get them, ofc. I have submitted my application thru the proper channels. Thank you, my lord. I look forward to the coming war.
Thank you Xanti - As you know imperial research teams are working on new classes of Starship. Once one is operational fitting your style of command.. we will let you know :D
a trick with long range scouting is to get an uncrewed science ship and set it to passive then send her in to the unknown. You will have to get the ship in to a system to see if there is a suitable planet for your civilization so if you have 2 uncrewed science ships and set out 99 stars each in both directions you will find it easier to plan ahead. This is my vote. Information then victory
the dreadnought has to be destroyed. easier was is talk to the book enclave (forgot their name) but buy a damage boost to dreadnought and after its destroyed then you can rebuild it with 5k engineer research or savage and get instantly around 5k eng. and 5k minerals. if you rebuild it will be your ship with mp of 4.4k but can't be merged with any other fleet
Deflector shields double front and prepare for attack! I'd say get a second fleet online and move them to attack Beznar. In the mean time you could hold the 1st fleet back, wait until the Predators either engage you over Beznar or you have control of the system. After that you could make a push with both fleets, one to take Kunides and the other to take Iblyrla, then leave the rest of Predator space for the Themlar. 3 systems for the Empire and hopefully securing a future ally.
shack in this game a cool and realistic thing is that with the proper fleet makeup and tactics you can take on a fleet 3 times the size of yours and win. Tactics are like splitting your fleet into small parts (thirds usually) and jumping them in at different points(it confuses AI making them lose some combat effectiveness for a bit) or fighting near stations among other ideas
WAR! predators are vulnerable now, take advantage of it and save yourself headaches later. you should be able to keep their fleet down without any trouble and take 3 systems. btw there is a mod to remove the nonsensical research malus for planets and pops. i highly recommend it.
Hello good sir, two days ago I discovered your wonderful play-through, and here I am on season 2. Just want to thank you for the awesome content you put out, I literally can't get enough xD (I don't even play Stellaris either lol)
Hi Shack, love the series. My two cents: declare a rivalry with predators and keep on maxing out your planets (remove kelp), build your fleet to a point where you can take out the pirates and the dreadnaught then turn the might of the empire on the predators, they're not going anywhere any time soon.
also I have an idea for the next broadcast at the bottom during the intro huhmmm - the local animal life of emperors landing in particular the dewback has been sent off to new terra as a research test to see how well they perform under military scenarios
Don't forget to look into terraforming, you can terraform any planets within your borders using energy credits - you could replace the Frontier Outpost in the Polaris system if you Terraformed that planet and colonized it; after you fully upgrade your existing planets of course.
Hey Shack, a real quick tip. When a building has an upgrade available, you can click on the little yellow arrow and it'll just automatically do the upgrade for mineral and power buildings. It'll still ask you what you want for the scientific building upgrades for Tier 1 to Tier 2. After that the arrow automatically upgrades them too
I agree if we act to quickly we might get more then we expected or maybe I'm wrong and we attack and won and everyone started seeing us as equal amongst their race's but I still think we should wait a little more?
Also, get building more shipyards for faster ship production, and we should have that pact with the Themlar. We'd gain a valuable ally, plus a meat-shield
I would say to first build up the fleet a bit more (maybe even leave a small defense fleet at new terra) and then attack the planet. But only the one because we don't want to be spread to thin.
Yeah do Rival the Predators, and do declare war after but take both Beznar and Iblyria. Iblyria was a system you intended to colonize in episode one because I think it's got a continental world in it. Also remember it's still a 4X game. Your eXploration is progressing but with unfavourable results but you must still eXpand. Expansion will hurt research that's true but that malus can be negated with appropriate eXploitation which you've begun in earnest in this episode. So I still say invade the Haarn in the Kochab system as that's your easiest expansion right now and you need the armies for the Predator war to come anyway.
I agree, he will need it once the Fallen Empires awaken and begin the War in Heaven. He will also need it once the galaxy is hit with a Galactic Crisis (Prethoryn Swarm, Extradimensional Invaders, or AI Rebellion)
Declare war - they are weak after fighting the Themlar and you have caught up to them technologically. Also in the diplomatic relations bar it says they are pathetic compared to you
vote: Yes, declare rivalry and then, after getting point defense in the fleet, go to war. For the empire! Some defenses near your frontier outposts could be in order too. You have a lot of resources tied up in that area and nothing that can stop a small raiding fleet.
46:00 Be careful which science lab you upgrade too. This one would have benefited from an biolab since it already had +2 biology, with the physics lab research your losing out on the extra biology research.
Shack, try and investigate "Alien Menaces" when you can. If it's another empire, then you get an influence reward when you make contact, which is always good. If it's a "space monster", like Space Amoebas, then you get a special project, which is also cool. Space Amoebas in particular, when you research them and eventually kill them, give you Amoeba Flagella technology to research, which are pretty powerful bombers.
Besnar... We can't say for sure that we know much about it. Given the Themlar attack paths, it may be the last power base of the Predators. A first strike may be a powerful wedge, but I don't feel that the fleet is strong enough to take war to the Predators. Their shipyards are mostly likely there, and we have little chance of defeating a station with only lasers. I believe we should stand ready, but not lash out. But all the same, stand ready. We should try however we can to get info on Besnar before we make our move.
For those medieval aliens, I say build the station above and passively study them until they reach the atomic age. Then you can either uplift or infiltrate them. Uplifting them will make them your vassal and you can integrate them in time. It will also have a chance of them taking on one of your traits. Infiltration has a lot more pop-ups and possible set backs and failures, but will directly integrate them into your empire. I recommend that you have a military ship nearby encase the plant's nations want to nuke each other. ( In one game I indirectly wiped out two races because I couldn't get a ship there in time.)
The dreadnaught needs a relatively advanced fleet of around 60K to defeat easily, it gives you a special project to retrofit it (it becomes weaker than when you fought it) or a metric ton of minerals depending on what you want to do
Don't be ridiculous. He's miles away from being able to fight that thing. His entire fleet is less than 500 in power right now with small weapons only. They'd barely be able to get past the armour. Even if he could magically increase the fleet size by a factor of twenty he'd likely still lose. Try that suggestion again on episode 20 or 20 maybe.
Hey shack you can see the warscore of other factions wars just select one of the factions and hover over the the icon of whichever war you want to check. Well the Galactic empire had many species in its borders but it did not really have allies. I think a non aggression pact with the Themlar will be fine but they are a conquest target just like all the rest.
Everything under your domain gets added to your income science and resources. Leave the dreadnought until late game when you have the resource and the technology. Kind regards, Senator Tegasa Hanssiro
Shaq, the Predator Clan has a defensive pact with the nation the Themlar are fighting. The Themlar are still at war with them, but it's only marked as one war because they declared war on them both. If you attack the Predator Clan you also be attacking the hidden faction.
"I would highly suggest that the empire invest time and resources in developing new ship types and to farther upgrade our existing shipyards. In times of peace, one must prepare for war"-Lazar Marinkovic Side note: GO FOR SHIELDS!!!! Tip: Shack, if you hit the yellow arrow pointing up in the left corner of the icon you want to upgrade, it will automatically upgrade that building
Stay peaceful for the time being. declare a rivalry at most but ensure that you posses a fleet that will mop the floor with anyone who apposes it before you take any offensive actions yourself. Also, going after the automated dreadnought could prove useful.
Captain, you can now build the observation post for the medieval blob creatures, as the newest frontier outpost has pushed your borders out far enough to encompass it.
Attack attack attack . Land and conquer ! Also , your influence is going to suck badly , don't be afraid of rivalling potential enemies as without a democracy its one of the few influence gainers . And power will haunt you very very soon after your mining platform binge :) .. if you see batharian again its well worth getting. Oh and thanks for making this series ( and others ), love your humour . TYVM and TTFN
go for the Predator production and supply centers, crush their ability to produce and replace their losses from the war. I recommend assaults on positions where Predator fleet presence is minimal using small fleets of fast ships
(skip this if you don't want to know what the dreadnought does after defeating it) hey shack to let you know if you can take the dreadnought down you can repair it to make it a part of the fleet or scrap it for resources
I would suggest that you meet up with one of the fallen empires by having another science ship surveying. Since you spotted the Dreadnought ask about the mysteries of the universe and ash about how to destroy it and they will give you an attack up against it. I would also suggest to wait until your fleets power is over 10k and with tear 3 or about weapons armor and battle ships.
Attack and take over Beznar and Iblyria. If the opportunity presents itself you should try to take out thier main fleet. just make sure they can still fight the themlar giving you the opportunity to build the strongest fleet and become a dominant force.
The time is NOW, my emperor! Strike against the weak Xenos while they have no ally! CRUSH them all! Take ALL their territory, enslave their people, and prove the superiority of the Empire!
The Library yes the emperor must listen.
The Predator Clan is weak and ripe for conquest! Take them at once my Emperor!
We must go to war with those filthy Xenoes
Conquer the primitives! FOR THE EMPIRE!
Just send a few troop transport. It will auto-declare war, and you'll expand your territory by a lot, (and you can delete your frontier outposts)
Oh and by the way DECLARE WAR!
you need to declare war with the predator clans and invade the closest planet while they cant defend against you
please do not scrap the dreatnought when you can defeat it. you should use it
???
scrap it it will give you a huge boost, if you dont it will take you forever to research it and is not worth the time
Fred Fisher I think its note that worth the time. the ship is insanely powerfull
Nikita Khrepunov I believe the duration depents on your research speed
Nikita Khrepunov its still worth it tho
Our best approach for the good of the Empire would definitely be to enter a war against the Predator Clan and conquer it entirely. Zach Taylor agreed
Zach Taylor full out war then enslave the predator clan
+Benjamin Hartley Agreed, but if any resistance is shown in the hours after the battle, the part of the population should be... made an example of.
shack by destroying the dreadnought, you can rebuild it
It is at a great cost and you need the same technology to utilise it.
Tegasa Hanssiro no you dont lol. I was able to use it when i was using kinetic weapons. the only issue is its jump drive but you can get jump drives in mid to late game
no issues at all
I only heard it from a video, so you are probaly right.
but im pretty sure it uses hyper drive which, if this is true, means that u can't add the ship to the fleet. also it is slow as hell
Jeremy Kaston nah i got the dreadnaught 2 days ago. its still equiped with a jump drive

It's super weird looking back on such a nostalgic series, and seeing such an old/unrefined/different version of Stellaris.
SHACK!!!
The yellow worlds are colonizable!! The only worlds that aren't colonizable are the red ones!!! Pls end this cringery
This means you can colonize the concord system if you want more naval capacity
Red ones are still colonizeable but not worth it,
Ben Wilson Actually they are only colonizable with robots
Mindle Zajk did they change that with the new expansion? Because last I played it you could colonize a red planet as long as you had the technology.
they changed a lot yes.

To war, by jingo!
i think in every video, both in this and space engineers Shack misses stuff and we are all screaming at him from our chairs or couches or whatever
First, build that observation station. Second, make an ally of the themlar. Third, declare rivalry with predators. Fourth, invade predators.
When you declare a rivalry against an empire all there enemies start to like you more
pre-emptive strike and i love your intro's.
Steve Gardner me too
Thanks :D
Yeah, the intro is new. As far as I know, NO ONE has ever done it this way.
preemptive strike and declare a rivalry. predators have nothing on us. crush them.

i think you should wait a bit more and build up your fleet to the fullest before ging to war
I agree if we act to quickly we might get more then we expected or maybe I'm wrong and we attack and won and everyone started seeing us as equal amongst their race's but I still think we should wait a little more?
Wait too long and the thelmar will die, and our oppurtunity to gang up on the predators lost.
r3dp9 I'm pretty sure the Themlar would win againts the Predator
Sean Van Der Kooij but the themlar have a other problems
Also, get building more shipyards for faster ship production, and we should have that pact with the Themlar. We'd gain a valuable ally, plus a meat-shield
I say no you need to build another fleet to protect the home as soon as that happens WAR
Nice footage of Blockade Runner model from SE... slick tying in of one of your other main interests
War against the predators!!!!!
Don't forget the primitive civilizations !!!! The one you have near pandora and in the crossroads nebula (the last one he doesn't have in territory
If you can somehow take the dreadnought for yourself, that would make you undisputed king of your part of the galaxy.
you need a HUGE fleet to take it. It is a good flagship, but wont make him the dominat empire on its own.
Riesenfriese True: I was implying that he use it as his flagship.
I agree, he will need it once the Fallen Empires awaken and begin the War in Heaven. He will also need it once the galaxy is hit with a Galactic Crisis (Prethoryn Swarm, Extradimensional Invaders, or AI Rebellion)
Anyone else notice the "Preditor" mistake at 0:52 on the text reel... not an easy typo to make...
The predators are weak the empire will crush them
46:00 Be careful which science lab you upgrade too. This one would have benefited from an biolab since it already had +2 biology, with the physics lab research your losing out on the extra biology research.
i vote actually yes for everything. EVERYTHING.
also i belive that the Vool home system is in fact in your territory
Shack, try and investigate "Alien Menaces" when you can. If it's another empire, then you get an influence reward when you make contact, which is always good. If it's a "space monster", like Space Amoebas, then you get a special project, which is also cool. Space Amoebas in particular, when you research them and eventually kill them, give you Amoeba Flagella technology to research, which are pretty powerful bombers.
an eyeball with wings nice
Attack!! Show the Predator Menace the power of our empire!!!
Cry ‘havoc!’ and let slip the dogs of war
26:20, That's some X-com 2 odds right there.
war on the predators, rebuild the dreadnought once you destroy it. Also maybe help out the bird people.😗
Pre-emptive strike after a bit more construction and buffing out the fleet. Also, build an observation post in the Symra system.
I vote war!
War
my lord that's preemptive strike probably help win a war later against the preditor clan
next season can you do the halo mod
For those medieval aliens, I say build the station above and passively study them until they reach the atomic age. Then you can either uplift or infiltrate them. Uplifting them will make them your vassal and you can integrate them in time. It will also have a chance of them taking on one of your traits. Infiltration has a lot more pop-ups and possible set backs and failures, but will directly integrate them into your empire. I recommend that you have a military ship nearby encase the plant's nations want to nuke each other. ( In one game I indirectly wiped out two races because I couldn't get a ship there in time.)
FOR THE EMPIRE!!!
Shack u can see the progress of the ai wars by going to contacts on put the mouse over the crossing swords to see who's winning.
and then hover the emblem to see the point's
you should target lblyria it got a higher compatibility for our species and they stole it from us first after all
The dreadnaught needs a relatively advanced fleet of around 60K to defeat easily, it gives you a special project to retrofit it (it becomes weaker than when you fought it) or a metric ton of minerals depending on what you want to do
I say go to war. then focus on the dreadnought on the east
vipor_bruce54 the dreadnought can kill 10k fleets easily
I know. Focus our power then take it.
Idiot the dreadnought is strong enough right now to take on every spices we know of at once of and win without losing quarter of it's health.
jackass we don't care, whats important is if we can.
1 Attack them, 2 declare rivalry, 3 you can build the observation outpost on that mid eval civilization now.
TO WAR TO WAR TO WARRRR :D
Hey shack you can see the warscore of other factions wars just select one of the factions and hover over the the icon of whichever war you want to check. Well the Galactic empire had many species in its borders but it did not really have allies. I think a non aggression pact with the Themlar will be fine but they are a conquest target just like all the rest.
WAR!
Cry ‘havoc!’ and let slip the dogs of war
Everything under your domain gets added to your income science and resources.
Leave the dreadnought until late game when you have the resource and the technology.
Kind regards, Senator Tegasa Hanssiro
ceramic hull plating?
that's some shity armor, your going to build your starships with potery
ShadowGamer5 Scorpio they do the same with body armor today, it works.
LOL true
Assassin Zakral so a highly advanced explosive torpedo wouldent blow it to bits?
Wille Petersson should of also put that they also use it on tanks as well
+Assassin Zakral coll
Shaq, the Predator Clan has a defensive pact with the nation the Themlar are fighting. The Themlar are still at war with them, but it's only marked as one war because they declared war on them both. If you attack the Predator Clan you also be attacking the hidden faction.
Oh my god, I LOVE these news segments!
"I would highly suggest that the empire invest time and resources in developing new ship types and to farther upgrade our existing shipyards. In times of peace, one must prepare for war"-Lazar Marinkovic
Side note: GO FOR SHIELDS!!!!
Tip: Shack, if you hit the yellow arrow pointing up in the left corner of the icon you want to upgrade, it will automatically upgrade that building
that internal scream when he was like
"where is the new race? shouldnt it show on the map?"
and your like "ITS RIGHT THERE SHACK PLS!"
Stay peaceful for the time being. declare a rivalry at most but ensure that you posses a fleet that will mop the floor with anyone who apposes it before you take any offensive actions yourself.
Also, going after the automated dreadnought could prove useful.
dude i fucking love your news on every steralis vids they gave me a smile everyday und gives me a nice summary over the last episode 😙
Captain, you can now build the observation post for the medieval blob creatures, as the newest frontier outpost has pushed your borders out far enough to encompass it.
No one is a match for the Empire ! I think we should keep expanding while increasing security in outposts
"Alright reavean have your ship build a mining station"
Reaven: "I will finish what you started"
(skip this if you don't want to know what the dreadnought does after defeating it) hey shack to let you know if you can take the dreadnought down you can repair it to make it a part of the fleet or scrap it for resources
the dread will need a huge fleet of about 10k most likely, all Leviathan take a lot to fight but if your lucky you get to add it to the fleet
The way you described the Ty-fighter is genues shack xD
I would suggest that you meet up with one of the fallen empires by having another science ship surveying. Since you spotted the Dreadnought ask about the mysteries of the universe and ash about how to destroy it and they will give you an attack up against it. I would also suggest to wait until your fleets power is over 10k and with tear 3 or about weapons armor and battle ships.
Attack and take over Beznar and Iblyria. If the opportunity presents itself you should try to take out thier main fleet. just make sure they can still fight the themlar giving you the opportunity to build the strongest fleet and become a dominant force.
The weapons fire in diffrent speeds, so you have to look at the average damage per tick on the bottom of the weapon stats list.
