You did great /// we can take a 40 min cat nap during the install .... that is helpful lest we expect it to go faster ... where I snoozed was when the angle of the process was like you were collapsed in anticipation after 40 minutes which is going to be normal for all of us! BRAVO!
Just had the Hopper 3 & Joey 2 installed late yesterday. No review yet since I need to figure it all out first. Have not been able to get my caller id to show on screen. At least now hubby can watch TV. LOL!!! I like only having to press 1 button to get my TV, Receiver & Hopper to turn on. Wish the remote was backlit. Now I need the new voice remote when it's available.
I have always bought my Dish receivers and equipment for the last 20 + years and installed myself. Currently have a Hopper with a 1000.4 dish and triple lnb for eastern arc. With the Hopper 3 does it come with a hybrid solo or duo hub? And would I need to change the lnb as well?
+ncmach1 You would need to change the entire dish from a 1000.4 to a 1000.2 since Hybrid LNBF's only are made for eastern arc 1000.2's for eastern arc and western arc. You will also need a Solo Hub for a Hopper 3. You can not use a 1000.4 because the Hybrid LNB uses channel stacking technology to bring 16 tuners on one cable from the dish to the receiver.
Then it's just a matter of swapping out the 1000.2 DPP (Dish Pro Plus) LNBF for a 1000.2 DPH (Dish Pro Hybrid) LNBF. Have to make sure you have the appropriate arc. Eastern Arc will get 61.5 & 72 satellites with Western Arc getting 110/119/129. On the LNB you will see 3 ports. Two out ports and one in. For a Hopper 3, you will only have to and need to use the first port on the LNB. The second port is strictly for hybrid systems not using a Hopper 3 but using either a Super Joey or a second Hopper (Hopper 2000 or Hopper with Sling). That would also be the instance where you would need a duo hub instead of a solo hub.
Looked it up, apparently the 1k4 EA/WA DPP lnbfs are incompatible with the Hopper 3 like you said. Visually looks like a standard DPP Triple, but I do see it only has 2 output jacks and a wing dish jack rather than the 3 out 1 in on the DPP triple on a 1k4 or 1k3 .
When pointing the 1000.4 and the 1000.2 we get about the same signal numbers. It does have a slightly larger reflector however the lnb openings are smaller which may make the signal about equal.
+Sebring Computers - Seems like some features were not working on the new remote. Also not clear what 8 programs can be recorded at the same time. Dish website not clear, network and or ?.
looking at a Joey 3 puppy for 287.88 vs $30 less is on ebay with no back-door return but hard to return or we get from dish at a added $150 + $15 a month x 2 years = $510. I guess that is a pretty penny to save but as a loyal customer need them to bleed and give it up for a free upgrade after a customer of 15 years = $18,000 to dish network, and politely charge me only $10 a month for a new Joey 3.

We have Dish Network tv and Internet service and it's wonderful!!! We have the new hopper dvr shown in this video and it's awesome!
Mine's being installed tomorrow, can't wait!,
When you said the voice remote, you were talking about the 54.0 remote.
The other update as you called it is I believe the software for the Joey's. The first download will be for the H3 but the second for the Joey's.
What about the people for the hopper one everybody didn't get the three and the two
Dish is awesome my mom when she moves is getting Dish net
Odds are the Stock Holders could give "hang-nail" ... so we have to choose. is it worth the investment upfront or pay through the nose later?
What is good about the hopper 3

+Efrain Vargas-Martinez I do have a 1000.2

My Hopper 3 is stuck at 6 minutes remaining. wont do anything?
Does the Hopper 3 Work with a DPP33 and a solo node?
Alejandro Mercado no only with hybrid equipment
Ok Thanks
Could you get me a replacement dish network VIP 722k receiver and 2 remotes?
can we upgrade our hopper
??
Says you have an Eastern arc setup. 1000.4?
1000.2 Eastern Arc, there is no 1000.4 Eastern yet for Dish Pro Hybrid LNB which is required for Hopper 3
This won't work with a 1k4 DPP EA lnb?

And you likely already know, but the 1k4 has slightly better reception due to the larger reflector.
When pointing the 1000.4 and the 1000.2 we get about the same signal numbers. It does have a slightly larger reflector however the lnb openings are smaller which may make the signal about equal.
If you have a dish already could you upgraded it for free
First bill will be past due by the time most people get their receivers activated good lord...
That's why we do the download on a dedicated dish at our office to save time on the install.
+Sebring Computers very nice : )
