Thanks for the great comment! I feel like my templates are smaller than what most people would want, but it's certainly something to look into. The fringe does seem tedious, although it really only takes a couple minutes. For a flower or two, I can do that. And maybe you could fold the strip in half and then cut, then it wouldn't take as long. I should try that next time!

Thank you for sharing such a nice comment! Sounds like you have some experience with paper crafts so I bet you'll be good at quilling. Having the quilling material makes things easier but it isn't necessary. I began quilling by using things I already had. I cut my own strips and used a large sewing needle for a quilling tool. I've found if I just glue all of my colored strips together, I save time and the possibility of unraveling when I am using multiple colors on a coil. I'm learning so much from your video's! Thank you!
I will glue strips together on a larger coil for sure, but for small tight coils I still just do it separately Probably because I don't figure out ahead of time how much length I want, just do it as I go. *Sigh* I am a lazybones.😅

I like doing initials. One, they make great personalized gifts and no one's allergic to them. Two, you can fill in the letter outline however you want and it will still look like that letter. So with abstract designs like this one, there are seriously tons of ways to do it, just like you said. Thanks for your comments! Have fun!

I’ve never done quilling, but I think I’m hooked after watching your videos - a few other beginner ones & this. You create BEAUTIFUL WORK!! For someone that is brand new, do you suggest I purchase a kit or should I start from scratch? Sorry, one more question. What tools would you say are absolutely necessary for a beginner? Thanks for sharing your humor and easy along with your knowledge! It definitely makes this seem achievable 😊
If you're able to get a kit, I'd suggest doing that. I started by cutting my own paper and rolling around a big sewing needle, but my paper was too thick and I just made things harder for myself. But it was a free way to figure out I liked quilling. A simple kit should provide you with the basic necessities: paper strips, scissors, slotted tool, quilling needle and tweezers. The only other absolute necessity to get is glue! Thanks for the comment and the questions! Good luck!

I’ve never done quilling, but I think I’m hooked after watching your videos - a few other beginner ones & this. You create BEAUTIFUL WORK!! For someone that is brand new, do you suggest I purchase a kit or should I start from scratch?

If you're able to get a kit, I'd suggest doing that. I started by cutting my own paper and rolling around a big sewing needle, but my paper was too thick and I just made things harder for myself. But it was a free way to figure out I liked quilling. A simple kit should provide you with the basic necessities: paper strips, scissors, slotted tool, quilling needle and tweezers. The only other absolute necessity to get is glue!
