Antigen, your work is quite beautiful!! I know your daughter will love 💘 it. You know I'm going to copy cat your gorgeous projects, lady. I am going to make them for my grandchildren. I hope you don't mind.
Annigan, thank you for your response. It eases my mind. By the way, please excuse the spelling of your first name. The auto-fill feature at times can be more annoying than helpful 🙄
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!!!! ❤ Your daughter has such great taste! I would have picked the exact same elements to have in mine 😬😬 What will she/you do with it now that it’s complete?
Hi! Sorry about the slow reply. I don't always get notified about comments below comments and I came across this just now by accident. Glad I saw it! I ended up framing the letter and my daughter keeps it on her dresser. The other day she had a friend over, and she showed her the letter AND they sat and watched the video. I felt like a Cool Mom at that moment, ha ha!
That's really good! I decided to make the letters for birthday presents - it keeps me motivated. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't do much with it if I didn't have a specific purpose. Maybe you could make cards (birthday, get well), I've seen some cute ones out there. Actually Mika likes doing butterflies and they're pretty cool. I've got a butterfly theme for next week's letter...
Hi you do such a great job explaining and You have great talent as well. How long does it take you to complete one letter. I am thinking to do letter M and thinking about using a black background and vibrant colors for filling the letters w quilling. Do you have something like this thanks 👍
Thank you! I think this project took me 3 days to finish. Sometimes it's longer, depending on how much time I have available to work on it and how quickly inspiration comes! I like your idea of a black background and vibrant colors. I've seen some terrific flower quilling projects like that. I think you should try it! I haven't done that myself, but I am planning on doing something a little bit similar, with a dark gray background with red and gold quilling on top. I'm trying to decide if I'll do that for my next project, or a different idea.
If you don't have a light box, then your quilling hopes are over. JUST KIDDING!! I like to use a light box, but it's not necessary. Here are 3 other ways that I've seen it done. 1 - Using your computer and a printer, print a letter outline directly onto the paper you're quilling on. Just make sure it's a thin light line. Now you can glue right on top of the line. 2 - Using 2 sheets of paper stacked on top of each other, the bottom one is blank, the top has a printout of your letter shape. Trace the letter on the top sheet, pressing hard enough to leave an imprint on the blank sheet below. Quill on top of the imprint. 3 - Using a pencil, sketch your letter on paper and quill right on it.
It will often be a bit of trial and error. Try something and see if it's the size you want. The quilling for this letter is all fairly small and doesn't use up a ton of strips. I do keep a bag of scraps for things I tried and it didn't work out in that instance, but I might use later. So it's not wasted effort.
Hi thanks! Good question. This letter M is about 3in x 3in not including the flourishes. With the flourishes, it's 6in long x 4 in wide. It fits inside a 5in x 7in framing mat. Unfortunately I do not have a template, but I recommend watching one of my outline videos that show how to make your own! It's empowering and you can do any letter you want once you learn how. (ruclips.net/video/j7NqRW7y3Xk/видео.html) "Georgia" is a font that's very close to this style, but you should widen out the legs for more quilling room. Hope that helps!
You can certainly take the elements you like and work them into a G. Just like how I took parts of other projects to make this M for my daughter. I've done a letter G video if you're interested, although it's a very different design. ruclips.net/video/75mwXt00KnA/видео.html I love trying new things. Have fun!
😄 Thanks! It's funny, I was just looking at a picture of a real flower and thinking the same thing. Maybe I'll try quilling it someday. helonational.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/National-flower-of-srilanka-Blue-water-lily.jpg
Sure thing! I got mine from a beginner's quilling kit. Here are a couple options: Juya - www.amazon.com/dp/B017BFL6JU Tuparka - www.amazon.com/dp/B07J4D6LZ1 Both of these kits come with a template, plus strips and basic tools. It's funny, I don't remember using the template in this video, but I'll have to go back and watch it, ha ha! Hopefully I got your question right. Let me know if I misunderstood! Thanks for the comment!
@@annigancreates6074 thank you so much. Order placed. Update. Received my template - and a whole bunch of papers and a new quilling tool and new quilling needle tool and a new 3d bowl maker with the pointy end instead of smooth round ends. I got a lot for my money. I am very happy with my purchase from your reference. Thanks again!
¡Sí! Corté tiras de papel de cartulina blanca de 5 mm de ancho para el contorno de la letra. No tengo un video de esquema de esta letra C, pero puedes ver mis otros videos de esquema. Muestran el mismo proceso. 😊
Hi, thanks for the question. Here are a couple videos that show how I make letter outlines. Although not specifically for the letter M, the steps are the same. ruclips.net/video/j7NqRW7y3Xk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/o-jqnSzg7Mo/видео.html

Muchas gracias! Tengo un video de la letra B. ruclips.net/video/FRFZOw6nom0/видео.html Es en un estilo diferente, donde hago la filigrana encima de una letra plana.
Please dont cut your paper strips in the middle of a line as you have done in the top and bottom of your M in the left side. It shows very clearly. Always cut your strips at the end of a line. Very nice tutorial.
Yes that's probably true. You're talking about creating the letter outline, right? And having the transition between strips happen at a corner? I do like having a bit of overlap for stability and unfortunately that shows up no matter where you put it, but I agree that it's better at a corner instead of the middle of a straight section. Although, I may have started off doing it in the straight part for ease. Thanks for the comment!
@@annigancreates6074 No it doesnt show up no matter where you put it. Study the work of Sena Runa. You dont need overlap for stability. You create stability with the strips that are within the borders of the letter outline.
This was yet again another fine video highlighting your skills, imagination and willingness to alter your plans. I so enjoy your narration and sense of humor. Now, then….about the loud, obnoxious, jangling and totally annoying Muzak….I respectfully suggest you consider getting rid of any music in your background. My view is that it detracts from your otherwise impeccable approach to fun and adventure with quilling. 🦋
Thanks for the feedback! I wish I could get everyone's opinion on that sort of thing. I felt like I always needed different music for each video and the selection wasn't always great, was it?
So pretty! LOVE the tulip as well. My favorite flower.🌷
Thanks! I love tulips too, I wish they were longer lasting, but I guess this is a way to make that happen.
This was amazing!!!! You did an awesome job!! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with all of us!
Thanks! Glad to share ideas with the quilling community.
Le tue lettere quillings sono come una poesia che tocca l'anima.
Le tue parole sono più belle del mio quilling. Grazie molto!
I absolutely love your style! Thank you for sharing all these lovely videos.

Not much, but I’ve been practicing making the pieces.

Hi thanks for the comment and question. This M is close to the Georgia font which I think is a common Microsoft font, should be easy to find.
