Another great video with very clear instructions. I love how you share your though process in deciding how to create your outline and how to add swashes. Thank you!
Thank you for the terrific feedback! I think it's so liberating to be able to make my own letters and hope to pass that on with this video. And also, your comment has reminded me how much I like swashes! They add a whole new level of fancy don't they? Yep, gotta add that to my to-do list.
You're super encouraging! helping so much to build confidence and reminding to forgive mistakes, calming down that inner critic that demands perfection lol, it really does help me a lot to not be so hard on myself! Thank you for making your awesome videos!
I'm so glad that's helpful. We must have things in common because I felt I was giving advice to myself, ha ha! A lot of times I have to remind myself not to despair mid-project because I usually love it in the end.
Thank you! I'm sure the editing helps. But I do feel like I'm a lot faster at doing the outlines than when I started out, so I know it'll come easier for you too as you continue doing them!
Thank you ❤ It's my best friends birthday at Easter and her name is Adele. I think I'll be having a go at this, and using your S video to show me how to fill it.
Thanks! Yeah, I love these fancy letters. Sometimes people think it would be super hard to make these outlines but it's not much more effort than making a block letter and they look SO GOOD!
Hi. I'm just about to start quilling. Thankful for your videos. I will use it to make a wedding gift for my friend. Im wondering what's the width size of the outline. The paper I'll quill for the inside is 3mm. Thank you for your help!
De nada y gracias por tu comentario. Espero que el video haya sido útil. Sé que los contornos pueden ser complicados, pero este es el método que funciona para mí y me encanta poder hacer las letras más elegantes.
Hi, so I hope I'm understanding your question correctly. The way I do it is, I make a template by printing or drawing a letter on a sheet of paper. I put that template on the lightbox, then put a sheet of cardstock on top. So I'm gluing the strips onto blank cardstock, but with the lightbox, I can see the template underneath so I know where to glue. If you wanted to, you could glue directly onto the template. But I don't like to do that because there's no way I can be precise enough to cover all the lines exactly and having them show up would annoy me, ha ha. Hope that answers your question!
My letters fit inside a 5 inch x 7 inch mat. They're about 3 to 4 inches tall, not including flourishes. The paper strips I use to make the outline are 5 mm wide. Hope that answers your question!
Hola, lo siento por la respuesta tardía! Espero que hayas visto el pegamento que aparece en la descripción del video, pero en caso de que aún lo necesites, uso Aleene's Tacky Glue. Es un pegamento blanco más espeso que se seca transparente.
Oh my goodness, I don't know but that sounds like an awesome idea!! If you ever try it, you'll have to let me know how it turns out. What kind of project are you thinking, like a brooch or pin?
I'm new to quilling and this video is so well done! Thanks!❤
This is the best video I’ve seen for doing on edge quilling! Thank you! I’m ready to try again :)
Awesome, go for it! And thanks for the wonderful comment!
THANK YOU! lovely instruction!

Ann, you make it look so easy! I'm learning though, and hopefully, getting better at outlines!

I used 5 mm strips for this, but feel free to use 3 mm for the outline to match your inside strips.
Que excelente trabajo queda muy bien ya sea con o sin adornar 🤗👏!!

Are you gluing the letter onto the main paper with the outline on the light box?
Hi I'm pretty sure I addressed this in my answer to your other question, but if you still have questions let me know! Thanks!
Do you have the “A” on the light box when you are gluing?

@@annigancreates6074 so a 5mm outline with 3 mm strip color design?
@@alimar8862 No, I usually use the same width paper for both the outline and the fill. I mostly work with 5mm strips. Hope that helps!
Why 5mm and not 3mm?
What type of paper are you gluing the letter on to
