Hey Neil, I’m a massive EVH fan, got to say to my ears the EVH 34 just seemed to be cleaner even on high gain. Loved the Blackstar too.

I dig EL34’s in the JSX, but I gotta say, the amp is certainly a bit more “metal” with 6L6GC’s biased just below 70% dissipation at idle. Less hi-mids… yet more low-mids and low end in general. Clean channel is a bit more “Fender-ish.”
With that said, I am very curious as to how KT77’s or 6CA7’s would sound in the JSX. I’ve read quite a few reviews that suggested that the KT77 is the way to go with that amp.

I have the JSX's lil brother, XXX n the Bugera 333xl knockoff. Tbh the 6L6 completes that curcuit better than EL34s to my ears.

@@NinecoreNeil The build quality is a lil cheaper w the use of plastic where it could be used, but the tones are fine in the 333xl!
Years ago Ola put up a vid comparing the 5150 vs the 6262 and the Bugera held up well. Tbh, are they even made any longer?
