I can still close my eyes and go back to this concert. It is one of my unforgettable nights! Wish music was still like this. Now, all we have are a bunch of 16 year old girls that dance half naked and all sound the same.
Listen to Black Marble, Craft Spells, Molly Nilsson, Geneva Jacuzzi, David Loca/Part Time, Ariel Pink, Glaciers “double vision”, and Molchat Doma for starters. They are modern essential indie rockstars. It’s all about choosing to be consistently involved in finding new songs and the genres that you like as well as loving the classic
Meg Myers. In my opinion she's closest to Siouxsie in spirit for this snowflake generation. Especially when it comes to live act. Its not pc to say but most females are really not interesting live performers. Its a talent and instinct, something you cant teach and this girl has it.
I saw Siouxsie at the tower theater in 92. She was great plus one of the stage bouncers was a little too rough with someone and she stopped the show and threated to "come down there and kick his ass". Hahah Love her!
Took the words right out of my mouth. There's so much going on here that's incredible but the guitar is what is killing me. I've never heard a guitar sound like that.
hello vlogking.yes i remember walking 6 hrs to get to the site and being so tired i got my sleeping bag out and went to sleep on the bank of the river that ran through the site even though it was raining.i remember a beautiful punk girl and saying high to siouxsie who smiled back at me.and of course the gig which was and is the greatest of my life.it was budgies drumming that stood out the most to me,i remember thinking he was like an automoton with soul.
saw s.a.t.b. in a tent in cornwall at the elephant fayre in 79 on the juju tour.only a couple hundred people saw that gig and i was one of them.had to walk 18 miles to get to the site but it was worth every step.my favourite gig ever.awesome.
"Get out"! Gorgeous...Siouxsie allways spoke her mind on stage: As to Smith and Severin:"Can we get out of tuning quicker"! or to the blokes on the mixing desk: "are you getting a distortion problem or what?!" Finally the best one was on a tour in Berlin, as someone in the audience kept on shouting "more, more"...Siouxsie: "more wot?!" "more power"? "take the flour out of your ears!"....
How i love this song so much. This for my taste is the most banshee-esque they ever did. Mc.Geoch guitar is amazing. Sounds like a rollercoaster delay.
I love this song mostly because of the lyrics and the hauntingness of the music and her voice go together. The dancing was wierd but then that was probably the 'It' thing back then.
Thank you, skywalker74, for posting all of these great Siouxsie vids. Fabulous! I've never heard or seen some of these songs live, and it is wonderful to finally hear them live from the period. Great stuff! Great stuff! Is this concert out on a DVD? I want it.
Lyrics She's your little voodoo dolly And she's gonna make you lazy Like the little drum in your ear Transfixes you to your fear And now she's transfixed in your fear And you know she's gonna stay there Because her nails are deep in your hair And she made you so unaware Are you listening to your fear? The beat is coming nearer Like that little drum in your ear Transfixes you to your fear She's such an ugly little dolly And she's making you look very silly When you listen in to her ear You get paralyzed with her fear Oh, down, down, down, down in your fear Down, down, down, down in your fear Now this little voodoo dolly Has made you very lazy You're anaemic from her sucking And when you're dead, she'll find another Better break that little dolly And sling her in the corner Now she's a sorry little dolly Such a sorry little dolly Are you listening to your fear? I believe she was talking to the spotlights (or the person running them) as she likes to do this song mostly cloaked in darkness to heighten the effect. Always been one of my favourites and the live versions are always best, a la Nocturne.
LOL... oh the insane love of hype, the fondness for obscurity, to be 'different'... Come on, "Nocturne" categorically blows this thing out of the water, despite any other considerations, for one simple reason: the technical quality of the recording, infinitely superior on the Royal Albert Hall venue. While the sound on "Nocturne" is both huge and crystal clear, bursting into the speakers with impressive clarity and impact, especially for Siouxsie's vocals and Severin's bass. You simply got to be kidding.
well, I respectfully disagree. There is no possibility for me to compare this performance with the concert recorded in NOCTURNE, from any point of view that can be considered: technical, atmospheric, emotional, etc. etc. etc.
@@arrs6518 no one's asking you to agree. :) other people just feel differently, just pointing out that it's not "hype." This performance feels spookier to me, even more occult-ish somehow. Maybe it's her shirt, lol, I don't know. But no, really, there's something else to it.. it's darker. The guitar sounds incredible. She's witchier.
Only she can get away with that. No one else attempt it anywhere at any time, you'll only humiliate herself. Would have been a perfect performance without that camera, I think, she's such a great performer. I really like this song, too.

WAY ahead of their time.
Excelente cantante fue la señora Siouxsie
La reina del post punk
What on Earth is McGeoch doing with his guitar here... God he was amazing.

What a mesmerizing performance.
The greatest concert in the history of rock and roll.
American Slander wish I was there
You mean "the only one I saw in my life"?
This must be the Juju tour, which was great. I saw her live at the NYC Ritz and it was unforgettable. Thank you for the memorie.
No, thank you for the youtube 'memorie' Patricia. Internet being this fun 'solemn' thing, it's so niche to see it being taken seriously.
The great Siouxsie Sioux
wow back in high school this song was perfect for an acid trip what fun times thank you Siouxsie!!!!!!!

Amazing. Banshees are timeless.
Having thought i watched every Siouxsie and The Banshees video on yt, suddenly this and others are popping up.

Performance live eccezionale, una delle artiste più grandi al mondo !!!
Maravilhosa, Sua Voz e A Bateria ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
My fav Siouxsie song.
John McGeoch spinning his guitar magic, Budgie's primeaval drums, Severin's brooding metronome bass &.... well.... Siouxsie!
Amazing . were so good live
gotta love the drums :)
The beginning reminds me of the unconscious...a dark mist rising from the abyss, a plague on the mind...Total Freudage. Excellent
'kin awsome - thanks for posting!
Siouxsie is incomparable here.
When she said get out. It was a fly
John McGeoch probably the most innovative Banshees' guitarist. Rest in peace.
Easily their best guitarist. He was phenomenal.
Indeed @@Missjunebugfreak
She is look like Sandman's Death.
Goddess...
Definitely Banshees at their best. Xx

I agree. This is much better.
It's a Yamaha SG 2000, like a thru-neck constructed Les Paul nc90.
seriously...
damn i so wish i couldk dance like that, i dont think it's phsyically possible
I'm Siouxsified because of her new album.
she looks like Death of the Endless in the Sandman series by neil gaimen. shes wonderful and the song is one of my fav
Dark, but so good...
What do you mean "but"
"get out"...i suppouse she's talking about the lights ...
Anyone got a guitar tab for this?
Days of wearing black almost everyday, eyeliner, dizzy, smokey underground clubs, in the SF Bay area.
Me too...X)
Damn, lucky you!!
pray to the siouxsie goddess...
