Ya know, an actual quest tracker that tells me all the quests I currently have available, the ones that are active, how far I've progressed through the quest and what/where my next tasks are...all in one convenient menu? This has to be the most infuriating non-mechanic in the game. I mean, why?? And don't tell me the quest radial with that fuckin book of riddles. That's not a quest tracker....that's a fuckin clue, and a mediocre one at best. Its par for the course for open world RPGs....which this is, even if it's an extremely light one. I mean, why the hell should every single step of any given quest be a mystery that requires a research project to solve....just to figure out where the fuck I'm supposed to go or what I'm supposed to do to continue the current questline? I'm sorry, its a beautiful and immersive game world that I enjoy being in but that is absolute garbage game design.

I got this game 2 years ago but didn't really play it because my pc can't handle it. It was stuck on my steam library for 2 years. 3 weeks ago me and my friends was talking about what other games to play because DOTA 2 update is taking quite a while, we are also getting tired of Valorant, League and Apex. Then I specifically told them "Do yall have sea of Thieves?" they all agreed and started the grind to get our own Galleon and Sloops.
This game is definitely worth playing still. It’s my personal favorite game all time because of how unique each play session can be. That being said, I’ve also been playing since launch and for new players, there is quite the considerable knowledge and skill gap to overcome vs veteran pirates. If you’re okay with losing occasionally and learning some hard lessons along the way, this game can be extremely rewarding and satisfying to play. There’s not many better feelings out there in gaming than using your teamwork (or solo skill) to sink an enemy ship.

I stopped playing two years ago because all pvp encounters were either me punching a half-afk baby or being demolished by a galleon, there was literally no way to become better at pvp aside from spending way too much time server-hopping looking for a bite your size. It was after they removed the areana but before they introduced the new pvp-on-demand sandglass. Now this issue appears to be fixed, but I haven't played much to test it properly.

Can we highlight the fact that the game is 120GB on PC, one reason I can never get more PC players on is the sheer size of of the game compared to the console version
Been playing Sea of Thieves since Forsaken Shores (with a bunch of breaks) and it’s always been amazing to look back and see how much the game has grown Amazing vid
Fair play lad this is a very high quality vid for the size of your channel thought this was the work of a larger creator keep up the good work you’ve earned a new sub today 👍👍
I think the reason I adore it so much is because of the progression. In all games I love making my dude look cool but some games don’t encourage it enough. In sea of thieves the point of everything you do is to look pretty and I love it it gives me something to work for.
I'm just glad I can finally play again. For some reason, on my PC when I played, certain things would break my game or just not work. If I used a trident, my game crashed. Voice chat in game wouldn't work for me very often, so I couldn't communicate with anyone, since I use a half keyboard for SoT exclusively (set up for loot running, SoT was also one of the 1st games I got back in season 5, so I was easing into a full keyboard transition from PS4). Couldn't eat or spyglass either. Thankfully, that hasn't been an issue for me lately! It's always fun to run into new players and help them, instead of sink them. It'd been so long since I'd played, I don't even know when a second stovetop was added to the ships lol.
I play SOT to relax and also not have a “pay to win.” A reason I also play Rocket League. I’m getting too old to sweat games and SOT is a fun time with my friends. It could be sweaty or relaxing but either way it’s a good time
As an AVID pirate lover, I was so hyped for this game... but upon release I was immensely disappointed. Stopped playing pretty quickly, the grind really turned me off. I’m giddy to hear about all these new features and the PvE servers too, might have to jump back in!
Me and my discord friends just picked this game up and the new player experience is really solid tbh. Just wish they had a new tutorial for all the small features that you'd have to learn on your own, complex movement, adding friends, etc.
Yeah, it doesn’t hold your hand at all. I do have a 45 min tutorial covering literally everything if you need it ruclips.net/video/BeJtYe8fHTs/видео.html
Back at launch it was on Xbox Games Pass (I already had Games Pass for State of Decay 2). I'd usually skip out on "pirate games", but as I had Games Pass, gave it a go. I've had (and continue to have) great fun on the game. Mainly solo, but with crew from time to time. And everyone forgets... there wasn't even a Brigantine at launch!
the fire for sot lit up inside me recently. I really want to go back. But when i saw the 100gb download size. I immediately told myself to calm down and sleep.
One thing that you didn't mention, is how unique Sea of Thieves PvP is. First of all, you're starting on an even ground - you have exactly the same tools and weapons as someone who spent thousand of hours in the game and donated a small fortune to it. Only difference there is is in the players skill. Second, ship isn't easy to control, so your crew need to perform multiple different yet equally engaging roles, which all relly on each other to succeed. Third, there are usually some stakes involved in PvP. Be it you trying to defend your loot from an aggressive reapers, or being reapers yourself and trying to sink someone else for their sweet, sweet loot. And finally fourth - there's a good amount of sabotage you can pull on an unsuspecting team. Somebody is doing a skeleton fort? Pick up a barrel of gunpowder and rowboat, sneak up to them and blow up their ship. All in all, it's truly, engaging and rewards creativity.
Great video. What you said at 10:44 is wrong though as this literally happened to me. I'm a new ps5 player and I've been getting slapped up by sweats. A guy was hiding in my ship for 20 min then he came out acting friendly and said he would help me with my quest. We passed by another ship on the way and he jumped off mine and said he was gonna go catch a ride with them instead. said nice to meet you, good luck, etc. 20 sec later he sniped me in my head when I was standing at my map table. You should trust absolutely no one in this game, even if they appear friendly.
The game is called sea of thievs for a reason, even if you have an alliance with someone, just never let your guard down, that's why you should always play with a crewmate, either a friend or someone in open crew, I met a lot of fun people in open crew
Holy crap, i thought you were at least at a couple hundred thousand subs but you haven't even hit 1000, you seem like such a big youtuber and im gonna sub so i can watch when you blow up, keep doing what you're doing and happy sailing everyone
as someone who played the OG they just made the game better; tons of quality of life additions and more added to the core sandbox in this season if they keep their focus on just how fun the core gameplay can be over flashy collabs (dont get me wrong, SoT has some of the highest quality collab content), it's only going to continue to grow
I’m very thankful SoT released on the PS5, it’s a smart decision. I began playing the game as soon as it released on ps5 and I’m obsessed with game, enjoying all the different experiences the game provides. And you’re right!! You can’t _really_ plan your voyages, too many other variables you can’t account for. Last night I was slooping with another random and we took out a grade 5 reaper ship! That was huge for me and when they sunk, it was exhilarating ah! I’m getting a little bit better at pvp by the day. Well done on the vid!!
I started playing again recently because me and my friends were struggling to find a game to play, and then one of them said "Sea of Thieves?" Well, I had not played the game since 2019 (Already had 140 hours logged, I'm a grog addict) but let me tell you, I have been playing it for the past week, already logged an extra 40-50 hours on it, and I have been enjoying the hell out of it, both PVE and PVP servers. It's just one of those games that doesn't put too much pressure on you, lets you grind, and doesn't shove micro-transactions in your face at all times. Everything you do eventually leads to cosmetics, so at the end of the day, losing your loot to another player isn't the end of the world, and you don't have to feel so miserable about it for long. I know I'm going to return to the game and try again, so why fret? That's what I love about the game. It's not too difficult to learn, and the gameplay loop is simple and the reward for succeeding in your adventures is satisfying, but losing it won't drive you away from the game, and eventually, the better you get, the more fun you will have. Really, it just takes patience.
About the pirates of the carribian and Monkey island. They dont take you out of the sea of thieves world. Both take part in the Sea of the Damned, even the monkey island part is in a illusion like memory space in the sea of the damned. Its complicated but its explained in the lore.
i came back because my college term ended but i played again for the first time, spent 3 hours playing and looting and opened a vault and then got killed from a galleon camping the outpost and then I haven't played since. definitely should have played with friends i guess
@@NicholasJovian i don't want to grind for hours just to lose it all again because i came back and don't know every meta to fight back against a 1v4. I'm sure the game is better but i had a trash experience and not coming back
@@ethanacton408 Reasonable. I mean, I've had great interactions with random people on there, and many of them said it was nice to meet "a non-toxic player" in the game. I just tried this game today out of curiosity and haven’t been able to get off it all day
It has that effect haha
probably my favorite game of all time...and ive been playing since the boring days just after its release. its changed so much
I am a new player who's been playing for 2 months and can say this game is amazing
Amazing video, i am subscribing
Definitely earned my sub 🔥 loved the video brother, keep this up!
Remember how well that emergent gameplay worked for F76?
Such a underrated channel :/ you seem like a 40k-.100k youtuber cant belive you have under 1k
Just relized why he didnt talk about the anti-cheat
what anti-cheat? LMAO
@@JackYaps sot anti-cheat is relative bad :(
I think there could be more world events so there is really something to do
That are adding one next month
I play SOT to relax and also not have a “pay to win.” A reason I also play Rocket League. I’m getting too old to sweat games and SOT is a fun time with my friends. It could be sweaty or relaxing but either way it’s a good time
Me and a couple of my boys just got this game and are lovin it
A singleplayer version, where you could save your progress, would make this game legendary.
The Safer Seas mode is sort of a single player story mode. A bit limited though
I do have a 45 min tutorial covering literally everything if you need it

Learning is the best part
Back at launch it was on Xbox Games Pass (I already had Games Pass for State of Decay 2). I'd usually skip out on "pirate games", but as I had Games Pass, gave it a go. I've had (and continue to have) great fun on the game. Mainly solo, but with crew from time to time. And everyone forgets... there wasn't even a Brigantine at launch!
I’m hyped, I’ve played sense season 6 and watched content for longer. And I’m FINALLY getting a third crew member (friend finally picked up the game)
Rare should add some cameos from the older games ( Banjo/Kazooie and Conker?)
They’ve got some Banjo and Kazooie ship items but no tall tales, they would make fantastic tall tales
I'm glad people found this awesome game, i invested like 200hrs on it and i don't regret one bit, playing with friends is everything though!
I was a kraken pest controller when this game first came out, now I hardly see them.
Recently came back to the game and I can say I forgot how much fun it was
the fire for sot lit up inside me recently. I really want to go back. But when i saw the 100gb download size. I immediately told myself to calm down and sleep.
It’s a big boi game download now ahaha
Love how i have over 1000 hours on the game yet i watched the whole video, great job
8:32 Pains me to see chain shots left behind lol
You popped up on my recommended keep grinding man great vid.
Every encounter is entirely different! Love it
I came back because I found the show "Our Flag Means Death" and it is so good it made me want to be a pirate again. 10/10
I cannot believe it has been 6 years
You sir need 1m subs RIGHT NOW
I tried playing it yesterday, no idea what i was doing, got attacked by random crew, got sank i was massacred
Awesome Vid m8. Got my sub, keep up the work
Great video.
Holy crap, i thought you were at least at a couple hundred thousand subs but you haven't even hit 1000, you seem like such a big youtuber and im gonna sub so i can watch when you blow up, keep doing what you're doing and happy sailing everyone
felt like I was watching a channel with 1m+ subs good stuff man
as someone who played the OG
they just made the game better; tons of quality of life additions and more added to the core sandbox in this season
if they keep their focus on just how fun the core gameplay can be over flashy collabs (dont get me wrong, SoT has some of the highest quality collab content), it's only going to continue to grow
Great video subbed
Woah wtf right when I start playing again
I’m very thankful SoT released on the PS5, it’s a smart decision. I began playing the game as soon as it released on ps5 and I’m obsessed with game, enjoying all the different experiences the game provides. And you’re right!! You can’t _really_ plan your voyages, too many other variables you can’t account for.
Last night I was slooping with another random and we took out a grade 5 reaper ship! That was huge for me and when they sunk, it was exhilarating ah! I’m getting a little bit better at pvp by the day.
Well done on the vid!!
have so many good memories on this game man. Cant wait to hop on with the gang after exams🔥
Facts bro 💯 ❤
Dude, I thought u had a way bigger fanbase. This video is so well made..
I'm loving this game hit pirate legend Saturday and got Athena to lvl 34 thanks to the gilded voyages
GRIND TIME
Video has good quality good job!
glad you think so :D
Like we say in germany : "Das gibt einen Daumen hoch" quoted @GermanLetsPlay
SoT has LORE NOW!?
My brother randomly decided to get this game on ps5 so me and my other 3 friends decided to play again
i came back because my college term ended but i played again for the first time, spent 3 hours playing and looting and opened a vault and then got killed from a galleon camping the outpost and then I haven't played since. definitely should have played with friends i guess
Lot of jackwagons out there picking on solos. Many more now than even a month ago.
But trash people make trash experiences for others, and 1v4 is trashy at best. But they'll always be sure to tell you theirs is "a valid playing style!"
I wanted to play the game back when I saw SMi7Y play it but I didn’t own a Xbox or pc. I was really happy when they launched it on the PlayStation it’s so much fun
Well made video brother. Under 1k subs is sad. Underated creator!! Have my sub.
high quality content, you deserve way more subs
