They get around calling it a quota by tieing it into promotions because a quota system is illegal. The wardens have to write that level of tickets if they want to be considered for promotion. Is just another corrupt way for the cops to skirt the law.

It is illegal to transport water out of lake Powell due to its mussel infestation. So depends on the logistics of what was happening, it might have been a valid ticket, however unfounded in it being given out. Not like these tickets which are completely made up and falsely given.

Ask for the certification certificate for the speedometer in the vehicle that pulled you over, in the state of Florida police have to have the speedometer certified every six months to verify the accuracy of the speedometer being used to pace clock. If Utah has no such requirement to have the speedometer certified, then ask for the charge to be dismissed because the officer can not verify the accuracy of the speedometer.

I was in the process of retiring to Utah. I was going exactly 70.0 MPH one evening. This was confirmed by my GPS and the GPS in my dash cam. The game officer was not interested and insisted I was going over 80 MPH and gave me a ticket.
I had to fly back to Utah to go to court and brought in my dash cam to get a not guilty verdict. My GPS records my speed and so does my dash cam. Even though I was not guilty the airline ticket, hotel room and expenses were $738.oo.
Leaving court in a rented car I was given another speeding ticket even though I was definitely not speeding. I just paid the ticket and left, resulting in an increase in car insurance.
Nope, I’m not retiring in Utah. In fact, I don’t intend to drive through Utah ever again. Highway robbery! Dishonest officers. A court system that makes it very expensive to prove you are not guilty.

In Pennsylvania the only way a speeding ticket will stand up in court if it’s contested is if the cop brings in proof that the tool used to measure the speed is calibrated and that the cop is trained in it’s use. Every one of those tickets that the game wardens are writing would be dismissed in Pennsylvania if the drivers of the cars fight them.

@@christiangreen1477 You’re correct. If and only if the cop’s car has a calibrated speedometer and the cop is trained in its use to clock speeders. I only know that those are the requirements in Pennsylvania of course, but I wouldn’t be surprised if those requirements apply in most other states as well. Something tells me that the game wardens don’t have calibrated speedometers in their trucks and that they’re not trained in traffic enforcement.
