The Kolkata House of Horrors

- Countless true crime stories begin with a family. More specifically, a family gone awry -- hate, jealousy, and vengeance seeping in and tearing apart the bonds of blood. But this story is different. This isn't the case of a family that doesn't love one another; this is the case of a family that loves each other far too much. A story weaving suicide, murder, and allegations of incest and cannibalism, all into one unbelievable plot. This is the story of Kolkata's House of Horror.

This case shows how important HEALTHY PARENTING is.
But why didn't their father did anything to it
@@rashmiverma5351 Not everyone has the capability of being a good father.
@@MikhailSharma08 That's not an excuse.
@@Mina-nn1ou I don't think it is an excuse. If someone is incapable of walking, you won't say that it's an excuse for not walking. Some people are just not capable of being a good parent, it's a fact. While they can be helped with counselling, it looks like in this case they didn't try to take help.
Very important
Partho de was a very gentle in behaviour, very calm when he spoke, and i saw him very playfull with others patients,
I saw him in pavlov hospital during my internship day, as a doctor
Why did he kill himself in the exact same way his father did?
@@ganeshjain6456this is because of depression,
When a patient with psycosis come into reality he/she discovered him/ herself with full of guilty of their past,
That brings severe depression in their life, and nothing but this depression kill themselves

this case is extremely saddening, firstly because people are so blinded by spirituality or religion and mental health is non existent in India. This is the goriest case I've ever heard about.
spirituality or religion has nothing to do with what Partho did, it was all because of the way he was brought up by his parents and his severe mental illness.
yeah mental health is not even considered to be a real thing its always some sort of devta or some bs
And then there are people like you who desperately blame religion for any and every issue.
2 people with years and years of childhood trauma went through a turmoil. It’s about the pain, the broken self-confidence and the fear inflicted by the abuser or the abuse.
The mother, their abuser, was not spiritual(at least it was not mentioned). She did not abuse them in the name spirituality either. Plus the property dispute has nothing to do with religion.
If you’re blaming something, at least make your accusation make sense!
There are tons of individuals with mental health issues in developed countries, predominantly the US, they are not religious.
You really need to get out your tunnel-visioned view.
@@InspiredAsh-thanks for making sense. Sometimes you see such ignorant comments like the OP and feel dejected but comments like yours make one feel there is hope.
Mental illness sees country or what?
I remembered this case, I just passed the board exam and was preparing for joint exam in Kolkata. And I used to live very very close to Robinson street now I remember(for only one month, I later shifted to a different location. That time as I was shifting out taxi was passing through Robinson street , I was immediately alert and my eyes were searching every nick and corner & my mother and massi were discussing about that news. For the first time I find a story for harrowing than any ghost story or films I had encountered.
I used to listen to the podcast I recently discovered y’all have a RUclips channel too. This video is so well made unlike other RUclips channel that are bizarrely edited putting in random photos of random people irrelevant of the topic. Kudos on that! 👏🏻.
It's giving me chills for the first time after listening to crime stories for the first time. It's 2:13 at night and now i am scared to go for a bathroom break.
thank you for covering this case from my home town...it certainly sent chill waves across the state at the time.
Hi
I just found this channel.
Binge watched all the episodes..
You guys have a great way of telling stories and cases..
Hope you guys will upload more cases....
They have a podcast on Spotify!
I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of this podcast; it is exceptionally clear. If I may suggest, it would be intriguing to delve into the insights surrounding the Madanapalle case. It involves a well-educated couple, both gold medalists, with the father serving as a principal. Despite their educational background, they tragically killed both of their daughters under the belief in reincarnation. What adds to the peculiarity of this case is that the father, amidst the ritual, began to doubt its rationale and eventually alerted the authorities. I would be fascinated to hear your team's take on this story.
It's better to light a candle that to curse darkness
😢
love the way both of you render stories
Few things are still not clear
1. What happened to partho's uncle Arun who was staying on the first floor of same house?
2. The security guard who was bringing them food, why didn't he smell the rotting corpses for months?
3. How could Aurobindo de never smelled 3 rotting corpses for months?
4. Why did Partho killed himself in the exact same way as his father?
I remember this case caused a lot of uproar all over media. So to answer one of your questions, the windows air gaps and ventilation was sealed shut using different adhesive substances and cellophane papers.... It was also mentioned there were several books and documents found on how to preserve bodies better.... Not to forget Partho Dey was an educated man actually... He had a hotshot job in corporate...
The security guard was never allowed come into the house to like the private parts especially Debjani's room under Partho Dey's instructions, because supposedly he didn't want anybody disturbing her sister....
hi, so its 1st Jan, 2024, almost a decade to this particular case. i have been following Desi Crime for a while now (even before you guys had no RUclips channel and i used to watch the Instagram reels of cases). Desi Crime has done a wonderful job. Aryaan (whose commentary on certain videos irked me haha) did a wonderful job. Aishwarya on the other hand, i was and will be always in awe of. Truly fantastic.
Coming to the video, i did not want to watch this video and kept it away for a long time (mainly because i was afraid of the facts being twisted) as it hits close to home (too close) as i am from Kolkata and this case has shaped me as a human being, no doubt. I was 14 (peak of teenage and being fascinated by everything controversial) and took a keen interest in uncovering the unexplained. Especially 'true crime' as we call it now. So much so that i indeed wanted to grow up to be in CBI as i stood on the threshold of making the decision during my board exams as to which stream and career to choose.
This case blew my teenage mind. I was obsessed. Starting from following every news channel reporting to collecting every news paper articles, I was fascinated in the truest of terms. I came up with theories of my own. Bizarre theories linking everything. Some even which made sense. After following this case for months, i realised, it wasn't 'crime' at the heart of this but 'mental health'. Kolkata, being one of the most progressive places in the country failed a family because of the lack of attention to mental health and to the thrill of engaging in conspiracies.
Guess what? i took up psychology in my +2 & now i am pursuing my higher education (masters) abroad in psychology itself.
This episode was phenomenal. Kudos for not indulging in baseless and commercial 'crime' angles and actually shedding light on the crux of the case - 'mental health'.
May Partha De rest in peace along with the De's.
As a Bengali! Thanks for covering this rather tragic case!
Fantastic storytelling. You should have way more subscribers, 👍🏼👍🏼
Ive been looking for an indian true crime channel! Yay!
My favorite case is finally in RUclips 😭❤
I have been listening to all of ur podcasts without fail really love u Aryan and Aishwarya ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very underrated channel, subscribed. I've heard about the case it's sad but eerie.
Damn bhai i love desi crime stories for some reason i feel guilty for not finding this channel way before
You found now!!
Great work as usual guys, can you please do a podcast of Raja Kolander or Chandrakant Jha next
Wonderful non judgemental podcast. appreciate this way of approaching the above case.
i watch alot of true crime videos but i never found indian cases on yt. seeing this video on my page makes me feel seen.
I remember this case now. Many years ago I have stayed in a guesthouse where the balcony was overlooking this house. The house indeed looked very eerie. The guesthouse manager told us later about the case...he also mentioned about the 2 pet dogs. The thought of the house still gives me the chills.
Have seen him for weeks on the front page of newspaper but noone said he died. Just got to know this now. It’s definitely saddening. All the things we heard about him was more fake than he was. This world is sometimes hard to fit in and god knows how many will die just for this reason 😢
U guys are doing a great job, but pls increase the length of the episodes. Try to be more honest and natural with your conversations so that the audience can engage even more. Again , I love your selection of the stories but there's been a little dip in the quality. Please present the case in more depth and write a thorough discussion. Love the new soud effects in the recent episodes but it can be a little more subtle.
Thank u both, pls make my favourite podcast the best true crime podcast in the whole world !!
absolutely brilliant work
What about partho's uncle Arun De ? Where did their family go?
Exact same question i have.
Maybe hiding with shame in another state or outside India
Wow such a strange case , thank you for sharing.
Spirituality mentioned is not unheard of. Swami Ramkrishna Paramhamsa carried out fast unto death till Mahakali gave him darshana! We don’t know what happened and why he gave up fasting. I can narrate many incidents in india where believers have taken extreme measures to achieve spiritual goal of Saxatkar of supreme! Story is about spirituality! Well extreme spirituality can lead to cannibalism , sacrificing the only son, murder and extreme torture. To mortals it’s all absurd!
Partha de was not hindu or hindu spirituality . He was into Tele evangelism of Christianity. Theres a huge contrasting difference between tele evangelism and spirituality
I m not well today. And top of that i see this . actually m crying now .how loneliness.. anxiety and fear of being abandoned can do to someone..his sisters skeleton covered with some twddy beer had me badly sob..i cant read it or see it..kust request to the people that always love tey helping another person if u see they being in trouble..no idea if he ever communicated his misery and ever tried taking help..but shockingly. Wat sbout these relatives?? Why none of them came to check if everything is alright?? Modern day detachment is scary...i m very sad for this guy ..hope wherever he is now...he is recovering from all those
okay this might sound weird but i gotta say it.. these two look nothing like how i imagined ngl i thought they'd be geeky looking people idk🥲
RIGHT?
Omfg sammee 😭,
what did you imagine them to be?@@vidhidoshi1014
the most fascinating case ever heard till date...chills man ..
I remember watching this case in abp Ananda and back then I also used to listen to Sunday suspense and that night I couldn't sleep , I was 15 then .
May the souls rest in peace.. they just loved one another a little too much.. may God bless all of us.
COPS +CORPSE SOUND THE SAME!!!!
POLICE WOULD HAVE SOUNDED BETTER
The way Partho killed himself in the same way his father had killed himself, it truly feels disturbing.
Maybe Debyani was right, the family truly was cursed.
Please make an episode on “Balesh Dhankar” Sydney, Australia
Socializing is very important ...They were put in a jail which became their own House
What a well explained horror case !
Never been so much scared in my life.
Driving in chicago suburbs late at night while listening to this story gave me a hard time
Your storytelling and podcasting skills are great 👍 😊
Very riveting story about the intricacies of the human mind.
Partho and Debjani were bright and intelligent kids, but dissociated from reality and their emotions.
The mother's abnormal control and father's 'detached' escapism drove their children to madness and death.
She was my music teacher in Calcutta Girls’ High School
Listening to a podcast about burnt corpses and getting an ad of Domino's Pizza at the same time, not the exact combination of vibes I was lookin' for. :)
22:10 her uncle didn’t seem to let them live like human beings either
👏👏 As always.
This one made me really sad.😔
This is a very strange but great case
This case has similarities to the Rina yasutake case from the UK
don't understand why father would not find out about her daughter death , did he loose his sense of smell as well ?
maybe his father already know it but decided to not speak about because he believed that his daughter spirit will come back
we want madanapalle incident plz make a video
No note about Arun n family who were staying in the same house, what abt them?
heyy.. long time no see🥺🥺
I remember about this case,it was all over the news during my childhood
Aishwarya is so beautiful. You both are doing a great job. This is such a sad story. I feel so sorry for Partho and his sister. I hope both are in a safe and better place. I wish people took mental health seriously. I always tell people to take good care of their physical as well as their mental health. There is no shame in asking for help if you are in mental distress.
Thank you for listening! Mental Health care in India is often inadequate.
its been a long time guys
I was in class 5 when this news spreaded a havoc in bengal. I rlly have forgotten the case by now. I m now in college 😂. I m not afraid of now. I just sympathise him. But that class 5 kid couldn’t sleep at night n also scared of this man. I didnt go to school for 2 days as I have to pass that area in order to reach school. I thght he talked with ghost at that time cauz he slept beside skeleton. I deepy sympathise now fr.
Isolation makes humans mind sink
is it just me who thinks i have heard this story on this channel a long time ago i mean almost a month or so before but how is this possible
Déjà Vu
Taxi drivers in Kolkata will never fight for customers they gain much pleasure by refusing us!
The singing at the end could be an opening scene to a horror movie
Hey guys! Why did you stop uploading podcasts?
When will you guys be back?
there was a copyright issue, but now they're back.
Debjani was my singing teacher. :(
Have you guys shut down your podcast ?
Ye somebody plss tell
I am shocked 😨
I feel sad for parthoo😢
In all this ordeal, his uncle’s side got richer, I think.
I am dying to listen new episode. What's happening?? What's wrong guys?
There must be no incentive to make these. Videos for sure get demonetized. Views are also very low.
Very much like a UK serial killer (Dennis Neilson). Please read him as well
Seems Father Rodney, the know all also needs psychiatric evaluation.
Bro you got a very nice voice 🎉
Why no videos?
At that time ,i was in Kolkata for summer vacation ,i have even saved the news paper cuttings for several years
a storytelling achievement
This channel should have more views ans subscribers!
This is so sad
Overspirituality has a name. Radicalism.
Many parents repeat what their parents (grandparents) have done, that is their norm. And some take it a step further, worse or weirder; black magic and such. While others are just plain insane. Normally society, that is relatives, friends or neighbors, catch this in time to protect the children, but in rare cases, one in a million, the adults, powerful, etc. through physical or psychological control, perform illegal, immoral and cruel actions.
This is so sad 😢 poor guy 😔
This is truly disturbing
Came for the cases got a crush on Aishwarya.😂
The sad part is, she has a boyfriend
@@kusumakarna8267 and I have a gf hehe
The guy narrates v well. Telling a story calmly. Dont really need the female.
😢😢😢😢 people like partho shud never be allowed to live alone ..coz with alk he went thru...and then the loneliness... All that made him take the drastic step of taking his life 😢😢😢😢.
May all the Des be at 🕊️ peace

Folks, this is what you call Foreshadowing.
Please raj kundra pr bhi ,ek episode banao, itna freely ghoom rha h, kiski vajah se
Heartbreaking. I wish, how I wish we could have done something for the De family. Or for others in similar circumstances.
This story is decidedly unusual in that in most cases one or two members of a family are mentally afflicted. To have a whole family thus is tragic beyond belief.
This account will remain with me for a very long time.
3:24 mini heart attack 😂
This is sick and distrubing.......
30:30
That's a story of a David Fincher movie
Wish Partho had received better help and care.. Infact the whole family needed help and care..
Mental Health is important!
why was the matriarch depicted by a sardar boy silhouette? :D :D
He didnt say anything as you translated in the clip 13:15
That skeleton is damn scary
26:33 why to name a religion and also use term fake there is fake gurus in every religion beta why to defame only 1 religion 🙏🏻
she said that they had mostly dealt with cases in india previously with only fake hindu gurus, and that this was the first case they covered with many spiritual religions connected. She did not say that only hindus have fake gurus.
'all the days are dead'
Delusion of grandeur.
And few other psychological issues
