The RS will not be attainable for 99 % of us after ADM. Was lucking to find and afford a slightly used sypder, but also had a 2018 cayman gts to trade in, which made it affordable to trade up for. More like this, good video.
@@Pcarwhisperer cayman 4 yrs, I and everyone loved it, pdk, track days a few times. BUT, spyder, 5 mths,First manual, harder to drive and I feel like its always in race car mode ! Love my 23 Spyder. The RS conversation is only dreaming. Both price and availability. Only the very best Porsche long time customers will be given an allocation.
RS is for flexing. The roof of on the RS…sure very analog, and nostalgic. GT4 RS makes sense if you track. I wouldn’t spend 2.5x of my 718 Spyder MT that’s used in city and country roads. Rather have a 911 CS + a 718 Spyder.
The Spyder RS is a quid pro quo. Yes I get that “proper” 4.0 engine but you have to give up the manual. I’ll keep my 718 Spyder true manual. My last sports car purchase I think. A modern naturally aspirated Mid engine drop top with a third pedal. Who else is making those other than Gordon Murray? That says it all.
Cool vid , I own 992 gt3 and 000 spyder, the biggest difference to me between RS and regular spyder is manual transmission, PDK in RS us different from regular, gears shorter, suspension is different. I say it’s a totally different experience, similar but different. It’s kinda when people say : my 911 GTS is almost like gt3 , I tell you it’s not. If you drive RS and spyder back to back really hard I guarantee you take your check book and sing check for RS 😂 unless you die hard manual guy
This video is a good change of pace for your content. Keep up the great work! Question, could you please provide any information on the new incoming Taycan Turbo GT?
Woow thank you so much! Going to work on getting more cool cars! Yes!!! Don't have anything super official yet looks to be 1000 hp and and 3 motors! Once I know more I will make a video
LOVE the manual soft top on the Spyder RS, but with no manual tranny option I’m happy to give Lotus my money. If Porsche decides to offer a GT3 manual version of the Spyder RS then I’ll happily cancel my Emira order. Why buy a PDK or any automatic, for that matter….if speed and numbers were my main concern, I might as well just get an EV and have the performance AND practicality.🤪 There’s nothing more blissful than rowing your own gears.
@@HGUlmke the 911/GT3 is too big (for me) and I’m not a fan of the new interior. I would’ve purchased the last gen TTRS if Audi had offered a manual. I’ll likely pick up a “regular” 718 Spyder if I can make a deal…just not convinced my Emira ownership will be as blissful.😬🤪
You're a lucky guy, you can save 60k euros or even 80k euros if the spyder has the weissack package on it, driving a manual lotus with a toyota camry v6 and 400hp instead of 500. Dreaming your next tesla..🤣

I agree with you! I have driven a 4RS being virtually the same set up without a top and although an amazing car its hard for me to wrap my head spending twice the amount on track focused convertible when 90% won't see the track and just sit in a garage somewhere being taken out occasionally for the weekend run. 😞 If someone wants a track toy get a 4RS like you've done!
@@Pcarwhisperer The Spyder RS is designed for the road, hence the softer suspension set up. They have also stopped making the Boxster Spyder, so you don't have that as an option anymore. The list price of the Spyder RS in the UK is £123,000 and a 12 month old Boxster Spyder would set up back £95,000 - £105,000 with the PDK gearbox.
That ridiculous removable top on the Spyder RS is a deal breaker for me. I'd rather just opt for the 718 Spyder if I wanted the drop-top experience and go for the GT4 RS if I wanted the extra performance and that glorious induction sound.
At 10:40 you ask, what does the Spyder have that the other 718's don't have? And you mention all kinds of inconsequential items like color and the supplemental restraint color, sport chrono and yet you never mention the GT suspension! Ugh.
So what? I felt like I was on this drive. This video was great and he said there were other options he didn’t mention. I’d love to see you do a video on the fly knowing all this information whilst being filmed.
Really good summary and well articulated. You should consider doing more Porsche road reviews, and it's by someone who is invested (knows) in the product. Good great out in a spyder. Well done Mason.

The real question is why is this the only video I found on RUclips that compares the Spyder and Spyder RS? That's just weird.
Most, if not all Spyder RS will be garage queens....NOT what Porsche stands for or was intended for....
Are these as fast as the 911 Carreras, say like the 4s?
