Great story hats off to you Matt for daring to create 'your' perfect California Hot Rod! I am over 4 years into my 2020 Spyder 6MT, so engaging an experience that I can't ever see letting it go!
Galpin Porsche of Santa Clarita, my local Porsche dealer and best Cars and coffee around, and Matt Farah are a great combo! Thank you both so much for sharing this amazing video!!! Porsche enthusiast for 25 years now and looking forward to 25 more!
I maintain, Matt's Spyder sounds like no other Porsche engine I've heard, it sounds downright GNARLY. The lost at sea thing I saw unfold at real time in the podcast lmao, great to see his story here! Sold me on a red interior I'm afraid 🤣
Great story, cannot help feeling an opportunity was missed here. We have all seen Farahs strawberry shortcake before. What I would like is a little bit of footage of DeMan discussing his mods here. Then a Montage of canyon driving with Farahs voice overlayed discussing how he has been using it, roadtrips ect. I must say I think this may be my favorite YTer car currently. Anybody can twin turbo something, boring and camming a flat six is art.
Great review and story from Matt - which I knew from his perspective but it's awesome to get reminded. What happened to the OG engine? I had the impression / without facts / that the original engine was used and tuned. I didn't know that there was a complete new engine used by Deman, great!
I think it's safe to assume the original engine is still in the car. The crankshaft was replaced with a stroker crank, and the cylinders were either bored or liners replaced to allow for larger diameter pistons. Then tuned so the car plays nice with another 0.5L, and higher compression!
Great video, also great fan of the Spyder (any of them). Owned 20+ Porsche sports over the years and the two I haven't sold have been the 991.2 GT3 RS and the 981 Cayman GTS - in my view these are two of the best Porsche sports yet built but for very different reasons (I also happen to own a 600LT in BC, a 720S and a 296 GTB - so I'm not a pure Porscheaphile). One is pure adrenalin and has an amazing amount of performance and feedback and the other is a great balance of performance car with the right amount of power and capability on public roads where its all about corner speed and making the engine work to deliver pleasure. If I had to let one car go it would be the 600LT to be replaced with the very different 982 Spyder RS 😀 PS Not a great fan of the 992 series.
Is that Cassisrot? My 1987 928S4 is Cassisrot-it’s an awesome color that dramatically changes in different lighting conditions from purple to pink to copper
I'm enjoying these "My Porsche" stories. However, this one was a little too heavy on just talking. Hopefully future ones will have more footage of the actual car. Granted this one is just about stock except for engine internals that you can't see - but I'm sure that there are more interesting Porsche cars and owners out there.
718 is only a few inches shorter (3-4) than the 911, but the wheelbase on a 718 is actually longer than the 911. Wheelbase will make the car feel larger, not the plastic bumper sticking out a couple more inches. Psychology plays a huge factor in people thinking that Boxsters and Caymans are smaller than 911s.
And yet when you drive boxsters and caymans they feel smaller than the 911, currently driving a 992 turbo s, previously owned GT4 and GT3 and stand by my opinion that the GT4 is the best handling car I’ve ever owned, nothing comes close for the money
He thinks they are the best and then he shade tree mark zuckerbergs them. Factory horsepower is infinitely better than aftermarket horsepower. Everyone knows this runs 30 degrees hotter than a real Porsche and the modding guy doesn't care.
There’s a reason the most popular videos on the snaking tire channel are from 15 years ago before people knew matt was a trust fund kid and pretended that he wasn’t while being the opposite of humble and short sided in his brashness. People just aren’t interested in someone that pretends to be an every man while being a trust fund millionaire.

Me too. 4 years owning my 718 Spyder. I'll keep it forever

Love this series Galpin. Fan from Honolulu, HI
Awesome feature. Matt is great!
Great story, keep it up! Love my 718 Manual Spyder!
Me too!
This was awesome !!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this. Great story !!!
Great production quality and storytelling just like we like it! Badass and pure great work to the team
Fantastic story. Thanks for putting together and for us to enjoy.
Another great story! Thanks!!
Love this, thanks for sharing.
Matt's car is dope. If i had $170, I'd do the exact same thing but with a different color scheme.

The perfect California hot rod engine, designed, built, and installed in Upstate New York
This series are Great! I'm glad you featured Matt's unique 718 on this channel. I hope to own a Porsche one day.
Really well done. Looking forward to some more unique cars, esp the restomods.
Great car and great stories. Porsche, there is no substitute 😎

It was not a whole engine replacement, the original engine was bored out and extensively modified,

DeMan knocks it outta the park!
Great vid. Matt seems like a down to earth guy with great taste. Who is in episode 3!?
Bruce Meyer is this Friday. His story is known but to our knowledge he hasn't sat down and told it all the way through like he did with us.
Great video 👏👏

Matt, can you list which mods you did? Thank you
Color is called frozen berry for anyone wondering.
Porsche 718 GT4 is the best Porsche right now.
It’s been discontinued. Agree that the 718 GT4/Spyder was the best when produced.
Amazing

Some more details pics on the car exterior and interior would be welcome other details really none provided here

@@hamyism Like I said, it's psychological. Not arguing handling. I've never driven a GT4 but don't doubt you.
My Porsche story is waiting for ADMs to go away 😑
Matt's car should be called 718 Spyder 11. It's Porsche equivalent of Nigel Tufnels amp that goes to eveven.
Titles are running slightly too early
1 minute worth of the actual car. Meh!

capitalism has you all seeking fulfillment in the material world. you will never be satisfied. the less you are, the more you need
You should post a video of your fulfillment, maybe your favorite sandals, pet rock, I mean anything would suffice I suppose. Cheers 🎉
