The GT version of 911 has indeed been available as a convertible. You seem to have forgotten the 991.2 speedster and 997.2 speedster that came before it. Very rare and exceptional cars but they do exist. Full GT product by Weissach too.
@@johnwhood5791you mean the 997.2 was an exclusive manufaktur product. 991.2 Speedster was the first open top 911 GT product, if I am not mistaken. The Spyder here is the first RS open top from weissach. Although, the 991.2 speedster does have more RS components (like the 911r) than gt3 components.
4:06: I will no longer complain about the rear side windows of my Mustang convertible needing a slight ‘nudge’ to get correctly sealed when I put the top up
Nice video, great car. I suppose if I had one I’d only drive it on nice days and would probably leave the top behind. Definitely not a daily driver. I have a “lesser” 718 with the power roof and it’s excellent both in speed and soundproofing. This would be more of a trophy car-that goes like hell!
A car I could only ever dream of driving let alone owning, a car i can only wonder why it exists, but as far as an engineering perspective I'm awfully glad it does ❤👏
The 911 & Boxter's engine placement are noticeably different. It's hard to compare the driving characteristics between them. Especially with a stiffer chassis as convertibles.
The only true competitor to the Spyder RS is the Spyder (non RS) which can be had with a manual = arguably a more "pure" driving experience and better value...
The exhaust button is just a sound symposer from the intake, essentially a tube from airbox to the cabin. It has nothing at all to do with the exhaust.
I watched the whole video and still do not know why this Syper RS is no longer a Porsche Boxster?!? It still looks like a 718 Boxster to me, only heavily modified.. The videotitle does not makes sense.. It's like saying, here's why the 911 GT3RS is no longer a Porsche 911..
160`000 euros: imagine paying that kind of money for a car that will only do more than 200 km/h with the roof off. I think I`ll stick with mine that will only do 250 km/h, but at 20% of the price...and with the roof still on.
The only journalist who’s been able to fold the roof properly. Finally.👏🙌👍 Much respect.✊
SPYDER better styling than the 911's and SPEEDSTER.
This color looks great even without the weissack / carbon package.
😊Spyders are the BEST LOOKING PORSCHES, BAR NONE.
The powerslide round the mountain road at the end was sweet
What a beauty!! I should hv bought the Porsche 718 boxster instead of the BMW Z4 G29.
I have a manual boxster 4.0 with air cooled seats. Very happy. The spyder is very nice but limited use.

Sadly they don’t put a RS badge on it and it probably mean something
The 991.2 Speedster was an Exclusive Manufaktur, not a GT product.
@@johnwhood5791it was most definitely a GT product, hence why AP did the press for the launch
997 speedster was not based on the GT3 but the GTS

Really solid translation into English. I literally couldn’t tell it was a translation until a minute in the video

The very best review of all. Congratulations!
Big Brother says electrify. Tear down Big Brother!
Excellent review 👍.

It’s to make all the hairdressers happy.
Great video, love it
Thank you, it was a pleasure to film this Spyder RS!
Am I missing something here ? It's the ultimate boxster isn't it ?
When I get mine I'm having it badged boxster RS and boxster RS on the head rests 😂
The AI voice is pretty good.
It sounds like a legit voice over
Excellent review! Where are the driving roads located?
In germany, Jura souabe mountains

The spydertop isnt a option, because the gt3 engine neets more space...good video, thanks
That, plus the air intakes are at a location where the regular top sits.
I like this guy
The GT3 convertible exists as the Speedster. $300K.
He doesn't believe it will be the last combustion engine 718 car! 😂😂😂😂... his finger touching his eye gave it away... 😂😂

The exhaust button is just a sound symposer from the intake, essentially a tube from airbox to the cabin. It has nothing at all to do with the exhaust.
Oops, ok, thanks for the clarification
The GT4RS doesn't have a sound symposer pumping in engine noise in the cabin. Wonder why they put it in the Spyder RS.
Pushing the button for sports exhaust opens the valves for the system
Gee....the engine appears to be located toward the middle of the car! Biggest and most important difference between this and the GT's.😂🤣
vanadium gray metallic?
Mazda makes a roof you can open and close in 3 seconds😂 this roof is ridiculous
So buy a Mazda, and quit complaining. I’ve had a 981 Spyder for 3 years, no complaints.
@@clu4uhow come you didn’t get a 911 targa?
Patrick really looks like Georges Clooney
haha
In no way.

Manual was not a possible choice by Porsche. They technically couldn’t fit a manual gearbox
When did you pull that out of her a$$? Actually I’d rather not know.
Along the same logic the GT3RS is no longer a 911? Odd title. Nice car though.
A GT3RS is called a 911. This Spyder RS is not called Boxster But, yes, it’s anecdotical

Got the manual too.
Half the price
Dumb comment about the regular spyder top…it doesn’t fit. You should know that.
I like a less practical boxster, what is wrong with me
Nah. Still a Boxster.
But this time with a super crappy roof!
Tell your 2 fans what you drive, please. I’ve owned Boxsters for 20 years, own a 981 Spyder now. Super crappy post, duh.
Why is his mouth not synced with the words??
Because it's dubbed. The original content is in french 😀
Bin bidez burat Porsche.💦
WTF 200 km only that’s slow af
This is the maximum speed homologation with the roof fitted.
It sounds sort of OK but still a very far cry from a Lambo V10.
Why is the sound so far off?
As a Cayman owner I still think the Boxster (yes it's a Boxster) is for woman...
You can hear the engine much more from inside than from outside
then you are stupid
Why is a Boxster for females? What kind of inferiority complex are you suffering from that you need a roof? Worried about your hairpiece blowing off?😏
Insecurities are a stinky thing my G.
And Caymans are for dentists… 🤗
