While many of us feel that the body transformation we achieve due to motherhood is here to stay and we love it, some of us also want to get back to our pre-pregnancy bodies. For me personally, fitness is important, but never an alternative to happiness. So for those mothers, who have asked me repeatedly how to reduce belly fat, I’m sharing my own tips and hope that these help you too! Here’s what I did to lost the belly fat and to achieve a flat stomach postpartum. But remember mothers, you are beautiful the way you are.

    Chavvi, it’s great that you’re being candid and trying to help new moms. However, planks are not advised post partum because they put outward pressure on the abdominal wall. Lot of women have Diastasis Rectii, which causes the sagging belly look and planks will only make it worse. Kegels are not advised either. It’s important to do exercises that engage the deep core in a safe way. There are many resources online for these exercises.

    Plank is good but its advised not to do planks after c section becoz it can bulge out the stomach...does it really help in losing mommy tummy ??

    How can you do Kegels after 2 days of C-section delivery. It is very tough to do. Upto a week I was unable to move.

      U don't have to get up or move to do kegels exercise. U just need to squeeze ur muscles around the urinary sphincter as if trying to hold your urine and then release.
