    3:53 wow that transmission is way faster than my IS350 F sport 23, transmission feels a little lousy, on the downshifts there's a delay. That looked almost instant.

    • @javrabbit
      @javrabbit  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah the downshifts and upshifts are very quick to respond to the paddle shifters on this car. For whatever reason, lexus leaves the 350 transmissions kind of sluggish and i don’t understand why they would do that.

    I’m a former Toyota TPS Engineer from a factory in Saitama. I stopped owning Toyota/Lexus when I experienced how poorly engineered my (new) 2012 Lexus was. Not only did it have at least 2 safety issues; but Toyota refused to acknowledge or admit to any mistakes. That’s why I no longer own the brand and moved to Mercedes. Mercedes/AMG has not only been very reliable but they are better engineered and Mercedes cares about fixing issues.
    The LC is pretty but it doesn’t handle anywhere near how a similarly priced AMG or Porsche would.
    And look at how the front track width is narrower than the wheel fenders? What’s that about? Engineers not talking to each other!

    So I want to also ask you. How would you compare the driving experience coming from the rcf fbo tuned to the LC500. I’m still deciding if I should do the trade I really prefer the appearance of the LC and it sounds the same as my fbo tuned RCF

    • @javrabbit
      @javrabbit  5 месяцев назад +1

      If youre coming from an RCF that didnt have the updated infotainment, the LC infotainment is a big upgrade with apple carplay. But driving wise i thought the LC chassis felt more rigid immediately. It also feels like it has more torque in 1st and 2nd (i assume gearing). The lack of oil cooler, you’ll see the oil temps raise quickly when driving hard. Id say for sure test drive a used one. The prices have come down so much, that i bet they wont refuse a test drive. Since the gearing is a little shorter you get to shift more at lower speeds. The shifts feel a lot quicker too. You also dont get that harsh shift feeling when the torque converter locks like in the RC when upshifting. the LC transmission also always rev match downshifts. You’ve probably felt downshifting in the RC F from 2nd to 1st below 3k feels very rubbery/jerky. Entire driving experience for daily driving is awesome and better gas mileage. You get a loooot of attention and a lot of people giving compliments and wanting to chat about the car.

      @@javrabbit I have one more question brethren. I noticed your LC doesn’t have the active rear wing. How do you feel about having one on your rcf and not having one on your LC now? That’s one of the thing o noticed searching for the LC that most of them that’s affordable doesn’t come with that active wing which I love so much on my RCF

    • @javrabbit
      @javrabbit  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@lexusrcf2441 yeah so for whatever reason none of the inspiration series cars from any year come with the active rear wing but they do come with the 21 inch wheels and LSD still. The LCs that have the active rear wing have the sport package which include the alcantara seats, active wing, 21 inch wheels and LSD. Then you’ll see some early year LCs that come with the oem Lexus carbon wing that was discontinued, which is what my car has. I wish inspiration series cars came with the active wing because the Varis replacement active wing is suuuper cool!

    They were the seat covers from Lexus? I was always afraid of the white, i'm considering buying one of these and i found some matching your interior. I was also considering just getting the bespoke build and doing the navy and white or if possible black and white interior.

    • @javrabbit
      @javrabbit  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yup ordered the oem seat covers from lexus. I honestly dont think it will be too hard to keep a new set clean with proper care. When I apply the 1 year leather shield coating, ill give a review on if it helps make maintenance of the seat covers easier. I considered getting the blue seats from the new 2024 but could not find those dang part numbers. The navy and white you’re considering is soo niceee!

      @@javrabbit Awesome, I may save money and try to find one in the interior spec you have, its very nice. I am on the fence on spending $100k on the blue/white one bespoke but damn I think these are going to be collector cars so I don't know if it matters in the long run. Either way I want something that I'm keeping and passing down to my kids so it might be worth the extra cash to go new and have the new infotainment too. Thanks for the time!

    Where'd you get leather car seat covers? I have an ISF and the previous owner did not take care of the front seats, they look awful (cream interior)

    • @javrabbit
      @javrabbit  5 месяцев назад

      I got them straight from lexus. Specifically bell lexus in north scottsdale. I went to my local dealership and got the part number from them. Then took those part number and searched them on google for the lowest price. Its usually between Bell Lexus north scottsdale or discountpartsmonster. The shipping price can get a little steep so dealer pick up would be your best bet if possible. Maybe they will still have a few in stock somewhere in the world. Im pretty sure mine came over from japan. If they say part number is discontinued ask them if its been superseded by another part number. Your last hope is having a custom upholstery shop redo the leather for ya

      Process was pretty easy. I just did the online order from bell lexus in scottsdale arizona. Their prices are pretty cheap compared to others. I just searched the seats by part number. The wait time is a month they informed me. Yeah, i’ll have my friend at the dealership install them for me

    What would be the best bang for $60k between one these used or a is500 5.0 or the rcf ?

    • @javrabbit
      @javrabbit  5 месяцев назад

      Ahh tough choice. If you prefer the better interior, long distance cruising like road trips, better gas mileage but still being able to rip it on the streets then choose the LC. If you dont like getting a lot of attention then the LC might not be a good choice. If you want a car thats more performance driving focused and more aftermarket support, the RC F is the way to go for sure. The RC F also makes a great road trip car as well just has a smaller fuel tank and not as good highway mpg as the LC. The RC F also has a bigger trunk than the LC if you need to fit more things. The IS 500 is your only 4 door option of the 3, so naturally More practical and the most space for storage, more tailored towards comfort but it seems like the transmission isnt as aggressive and fast to respond to paddles like in the F vehicles (based on reviews). They all serve a different purpose. Hopefully that helps. Also consider depreciation, finding the lowest mile car thats a few years old may benefit you if you decide to sell in the future. I came from a RC F with every mod you can do except a supercharger and i don’t regret my decision getting an LC.
