    Another great video mate - well done. These are the goldmines we are looking for. Just returned home to Melbourne over the weekend. Ordered a Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang and a salted fish fried rice plus 2 serves of Roti bread - Cost me $86 - haha - cant wait to get back there.

      $86! Wow! You’ll definitely love this place as it’s a little bit different, tastes great and is really cheap.

    Love how you explain all the food. It is easier to try new things for the not so venturous if you have some understanding of what you are eating. Thanks again for another great informative video.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  Месяц назад +1

      Exactly! The first time I travelled through Indonesia I stuck to nasi goreng and fried chicken and a little bit of mixed veg. The main problem was not understanding anything about the food. And to be honest, Indonesian food is much more diverse than many other countries’ food, so there is so much more to learn. It is nowhere near as accessible as Thai food, for example, but that doesn’t mean it’s not equally as delicious - just poorly understood!
      Hopefully I can explain little bits and pieces in my videos that can introduce Indonesian food bit by bit to more people. There’s lots to explore!

    This place is already in my bucket list but I was thinking which local warung to go to. After watching your video I am definitely going there in July! I’ve seen it in someone’s video that there’s seating area at the back in their garden too. Can’t wait to try their food. 😊

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  Месяц назад +1

      Tbh, I didn’t see the garden area and it wasn’t a place that I saw anyone go into. Perhaps they open it up if they’re busy! Definitely worth a try though. It’s the real deal and about as authentic as you can get in central Sanur. Fantastic food!

    The first time I ever experienced cold rice and noodles dishes was when I was in Luang Prabang in Laos, it definitely took me by surprise but it was sooooo good and incredibly cheap

      Ah yes. Fantastic town in a fantastic country! Local food in Laos is a little underrated much like Indonesian food. Also largely misunderstood.

    3 weeks until I’m in Bali! I would love to check this place out. Not sure if my kids would like it, but I’m going to do my best to get there and try it out. :)

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  Месяц назад +2

      Fantastic! If the kids aren’t into it, you have Bare Bottle a 2 minute walk away and they do pastries, smoothie bowls, big brekky as well as great coffee. You could even takeaway a few things from there for the kids and eat at Warung Odah Perak and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if you’re also eating there.

      @@SanurDiaries great idea! Miss 13 said she would be keen to try. Miss 10 is a definite no (she very bravely tried babi guling last year but couldn’t hack it), however she might eat nasi putih if that’s an option haha.
      I’ll keep the other place in mind too :)

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  Месяц назад +1

      @bethaniej yeah they’ll definitely be able to serve up some nasi putih. The thing is, you can ask for white rice with just one of the dishes that normally comes with the nasi campur. If she likes the look of the shredded chicken, she might be happy to have that with rice.

      I’ll put it on my list. The problem is that a lot of people don’t really like heading that far from the hotel area… so I am trying to lol at places west of the bypass and into Renon, but I’ll need to experiment a bit to see what people want to watch.
