That’s not a dumb question, but I don’t have the answer. I’m not sure which country you are from, but quite often countries have a residency test for you to receive a state pension. I know some countries do not. A country like Australia also has superannuation which is a self-funded retirement account which is accessible overseas. The fact is, a lot of retired people live in Bali and other places in south east Asia because it makes their money stretch further. If you can find a solution for your particular situation, it might be possible to do the same.

Depends on the season and where you’re located. Most of Thailand is far hotter than Bali in the hot season. But in the cool season, most of Thailand is cooler. But there are also cooler areas in Bali as there are in Thailand.

It really is a special part of the island! I just wish the weather was better when I was there. I had planned to take in a few waterfalls when I was there, but it wasn’t possible.

Good question. If you love a warm pool, you’d be best off sticking to the jacuzzis. The pools are normal temperature and if it’s cool outside, the dip in the pool won’t be pleasant unless you love that fresh feeling of a cold pool. Personal taste I suppose.

Haha. Yeah it was very quiet the last 2 times I was over there. Incredible how tourist numbers can fluctuate so much. Must be frustrating for business owners.

@SanurDiaries had to get out of there quick as huge storm approached, by time we got to yellow bridge pool umbrellas were flying anything not secured was heading towards pendia. On the yellow bridge it was very hard to stay left the wind was screaming. Then we hit foot traffic on the bridge. Shelter at a day spa and got a foot massage. Storm blew over and we headed back to villa. Alot of fun, we are going to checkout a few of your other suggestions and also do pendia for a day

Sounds unreal! Make sure you try out that satay place if you haven’t already. It’s really good. Pretty sure the chicken is “fresh”. You’ll see what I mean when you get there.

You can extend your visa on arrival online. I would do this 2 weeks before the 30 days is up. If you overstay, the fine is 1 million rupiah per day, so it makes financial sense to do the right thing and extend the visa. evisa.imigrasi.go.id

Just been to bali for the first time and can’t understand how people repeatedly visit. It’s definitely overrated. Much prefer Malaysia

That’s a tough one. Only very specific places are going to be able to accommodate you. Some that are more likely are places like Jhoii and Kood. But by the same token, many warungs will be serving rice and meat or veg. Those will probably be naturally gluten free anyway. But nothing is guaranteed.
