    Thanks for the lovely comments about my channel, Adam. I really appreciate it. I've just subscribed to your channel. I'm always looking for informative channels about areas of Bali that i rarely get to these days. Take care.

    Thank you for the update Adam. A public park is much nicer than a hotel in my opinion. At least a park can be enjoyed by everyone.

    A park and public space will be lovely. Some people forget that Sanur is home to many, and not just for tourists. And hopefully there will be scope for a few eateries within as well

    Well thats great news for Sanur , Tourists and Local families, Bali needs to slow down on development until issues like garbage and traffic get addressed and under control . There was a story in the Brisbane Courier mail yesterday , about how Bali has lost its way. And for Aussies to holiday else where. That would cripple Bali and its people, if that happened

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  19 дней назад +1

      Yeah I agree that development is progressing faster than the government can cope with… hopefully the Balinese themselves find some balance.

    Thanks for the update Adam. It seems strange to have pulled down the warungs so quickly to make way for a park. I really hope that is what is going to happen!

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  19 дней назад

      Yeah it’s a bit strange. There’s definitely a lot more to the story than we know and I’m pretty sure it’s best to not get involved in the details.

  • @karlrockdrain1
    @karlrockdrain1 20 дней назад +3

    Well, that is a great outcome from my own perspective. Others may disagree but a park will be awesome and if they keep the existing trees and build around it, will be great for the Locals and for the huge numbers of tourists.

    Thanks Adam for this very good news. I also read this news from Bruce. My only concern is a lack of parking. It is already heavily congested and with more locals visiting the end of Jalan Duyung would be a nightmare.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  20 дней назад

      Maybe the park they are talking about is a car park 🤣 But in all seriousness, that road just isn’t built for cars at all.

    Thanks for the update. A public area certainly is a more palatable idea than another large resort. However, a mixture of public space and a couple of “informal cafes” would be ideal. Just coffee and cakes, no full blown restaurants.

    • @SanurDiaries

      I would imagine that if there’s a park, local sellers might hang out there selling food as well. But as you say, only time will tell.

    Great news ref the park! Sanur didn't really need another beach resort type hotel. A public space feels much better - perhaps thats why the fisherman's building is still there.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  19 дней назад +1

      Yeah that’s a good point. That fisherman’s coop isn’t going to be there in front of a big beach club… a park makes much more sense in that regard

    How deep will the park be? Any insight?
    Funny way of doing things, pulling down the warungs and creating alarm.
    The park makes sense if put in the context of the new hospital as they have in the article. If you want to attract people to a place for their health, you need to create a restful culture. A private villa is fine for a short time but you're going to feel cabin fever if you're stuck behind villa walls..a park would be perfect

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  19 дней назад

      No there’s no further info on how big it will be and if there will be anything else placed on the land as well…

  • @popefang
    @popefang 20 дней назад +1

    Let's just run with - "part of the area will be a public park, but we need to provide amenities for the people visiting, here visit my hotel, cinema, mall complex".
    Its a Trojan Horse approach to media statements and planning applications. It would be interesting to see the Development Applications that have been submitted to the various tiers of government for the private land that is covered by this scheme

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  20 дней назад

      Ah right, so you still think the beach club/ resort thing will happen alongside the park?

  • @kevinslim3929
    @kevinslim3929 19 дней назад +1

    • @SanurDiaries

  • @steveth1000
    @steveth1000 20 дней назад +1

    I read that Sanur is turning into a wellness centre. Cosmetic tourism is being encouraged along with things like Icon and the movies and more upmarket warungs to cater for them, so a Park fits in with that. Thats why there is a beach club ban. Sanur isnt going to be the sleepy village it once was. Which is a shame so I want to see it before it changes too much.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  19 дней назад

      I think everywhere is changing really quickly. Year on year there is progress everywhere and it will never be the same again. Not sure how popular that cosmetic tourism is going to be… we’ll see.

      Yeah I know what you’re saying. All we can do is hope that what the mayor is saying is correct and that he follows through in the spirit that he indicated. Interesting that the banjar didn’t know anything about it though…
