    Hi Adam, I'm in Sanur trying to find somewhere to buy an e money card to catch the bus tomorrow. Do you have any suggestions, I tried indomaret and alfamart and they say sold out. I'm at the Icon mall, was there a bank here to try? I also have the gopay app downloaded and could top up at alfamart but I really have no idea what I'm doing 😂

      Further to this, I purchased a BNI tapcash card which has a bus icon on it. If I now top this up at Indo or Alfa, do you think I can use it?

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes. The BNI card is one of the supported cards for the bus. You should already have some credit on it when you buy it, but I’m not 100% on that. You could just try and top up a snack amount at Indomaret and that will guarantee you have enough on there. Let me know how you go on the bus!

    • @emilied8766
      @emilied8766 3 месяца назад +1

      @@SanurDiaries it was 30k with no credit, we topped up 20k at alfamart. For anyone else reading this, the BNI bank is on the left outside the Icon mall and they had no small change for 100k. The guard did go change $ since I didn't have it but easier to take correct amount with you.

      Later add to say thanks again for the video, we caught the bus from Sanur and transferred easily to the Ubud bus to stop near our new accommodation. Two other tourists were also on the bus.

      Happy to help! I think there are plenty of people who would love to nick up to Ubud on a day trip on the bus. A car and driver is fine, but I think the flexibility of the bus is really nice to have. A lot more walking involved though...

    Hey Adam, can you buy one card and tap twice for 2 people I gather not?
    Also on route I gather you can get off at any stop have a look around and continue on say in an hours time, obvious questions but they do things a bit different in Bali.
    Great vid by the way 👍👌

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  3 месяца назад

      Each person needs their own card. If paying by QR, you can use one phone to pay multiple times.
      You can definitely get off and then get back on again at any time. You will have to tap your card again, but it should be free if under 90 minutes. It's a very good service with a few niggles. If it was used more, I'm sure the authorities would make it even better.

    Thanks for the continual education. Much Appreciated. Other then your RUclips channel, do you know the most used Facebook pages or platforms that i can ask other Aussie expats for recommendations (in Sanur) like best chiropractor, remedial massage, dentist, gyms, even personal trainers etc. I'm working FIFO coming over 2 weeks a month am trying to source or find out if there's really good health professionals options and what part of town they might be easier to find and have access to them. I think that would then determine my longer term accommodation living location. Thanks again.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  3 месяца назад +1

      I’m sorry, I’m not really on Facebook very much. I know there are some Sanur community forums which are mildly useful, but require a lot of trawling to get to the gold.
      My advice for find a place to live is to stay a week in each area. As a FIFO worker, you’re going to find that airport access is the most important thing which really only leaves you Sanur, the Bukit and Seminyak (also Kuta/legian).
      Let’s cut to the chase. You’re going to end up in Sanur or the Bukit. It’s the place that makes most sense for people in your position. Sanur for a more convenient beachside way of life. Bukit for more modern luxury way of life.
      For me, Sanur makes the most sense.

    A local who has just used the bus says you pay 4400 rp per section. Hence 8800rp sanur to ubud.?
    Also you should note the card cost $3

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  3 месяца назад

      Yeah, sorry. They’re wrong. When using the emoney card, it’s 4400 and you don’t have to pay again if you tap on within 90 minutes.
      That means you can change buses or catch a return bus within 90 minutes of the original tap and get it for free.
      They were probably using QR code for payment or they may not know the rules.

    I am searching madly trying to work out how I can get from north to south Sanur using the bus system. Can you help?

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  Месяц назад +1

      Well it’s possible but it would only be convenient if you’re starting and ending near the bus stops or you’re happy to walk. The bus travels down the bypass road and there are a few stops along there. The other bus that goes to Sanur goes to Icon but doesn’t travel further south than that. Google maps and mitra darat should give you the specific places the buses stop.

      @hellenrogers2154 no problem. Your best bet is a combination of walking and bicycle in Sanur. If you need to go further afield, it will be taxis or buses.

    The occupancy of these buses is 8% on average in the first 4 years of operation according to the Minister of Transportation (Menhub). It operates 105 (!) buses with at least 315 drivers. A total FAILURE because the political will to make it a success is not here.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  3 месяца назад

      Why do you think that is? What should they do to make it more appealing for people to use? I think it's already quite good and it's surprising more people don't use it.
