Maaate! That meal looks like the bomb!!! Love the close up shots and also the pan shots showing the diverse range of lauk / dishes you can choose from!! Almost makes me feel like I"m there still.....!! And yea, they love the look of spice, but not everything is 'spicy' per se - but I guess its also dependant on the individual's palate. Good morning I have been to every place you recommend and I love everyone. Have you tried Balisimo in Sanur. I pop in there when whizzing passed and had a real nice affordable meal in a nice setting.
I know we're only talking a dollar or 2 here, but there are a lot of similar places in sanur for half that price. I went there once, it struck me as a bit of an upmarket "bule" type place.
Oh ok. What other places are we talking about? I don’t think the prices here are terrible for the portion size, but I agree that you can definitely get cheaper.
@SanurDiaries sari bundo and the warung next door. But there are numerous smaller local warungs around the place for 20 to 25k. A big grubbier around the edges maybe, but certainly cheaper. When i went to that place (a while back i admit), i didn't see any locals eating there. Always a red flag for me 😅

Funnily enough Dapur Sanur was recommended to me by a local friend (not because I’m bule), but because she thought that visitors might prefer this place because as you say, it’s not too rough around the edges. But I’m with you. I don’t mind getting my mitts dirty in some of the more questionable warungs.

Warung Ayu on jl batur sari ( next to pande putri). Less than half the price in a cleaner environment.

The best nasi campur in sanur is on jl danau poso. Warung jawa. Half the price of that one & huge selection of dishes

Doesn't have as clean a vibe I must say. Eating amongst fumes as very busy intersection. Each to their own, lucky we have such selection
