You did not ramble and play annoying 5 minute intro music like some youtubers. I like direct and focused on what is communicated/teach. If I can rate you 0-100, I give this video 100. Keep up with the great work.

    Most of the cons is the same as expanding your fleet I have 3 ppl under my authority and its the same as owning three other trucks weather its insurance or more work for booking loads that 12 percentage I charge covers the dispatching for them if your fear is leasing your authority and having someone crash its the same as you owning three other trucks fear is a set back ppl take his info and do your research I see alot of ppl getting scared to grow in trucking you need to get more trucks get more trucks by leasing not buying let that monthly be someone else’s headache.

      @@virgilsmith8940 the owner op pays for their truck they only leasing my authority from me so i dont have truck payments and the insurance down payment they cover it aswell its the same as if they wanted to do it on their own but saving the time to wait for the authority to have built time to be able to haul for major brokers most ppl have to work asap to keep up with them payments but I dont tie nobody down they can leave whenever they want.

    The pros and cons are literally the exact same for both company drivers and lease operators. You owning the truck or not doesn’t change anything else. It’s all about your hiring/contracting practices. Also the policies you have in place. I contract to guys and gals that their equipment is top notch and have a certain type of personality. I take my time getting to know the person. Presentation, representation, and quality. It’s hard to find but that’s why you don’t rush in and just take your time.

      One other things to look at , if you lease on to a new Authority, you are taking a risk also.
      Failures in new authorities are quite high. I would lease onto an established authority that has been in the game for 1.5-2+ years. But getting experience in any amount , is always good.

    Hello, thanks for all you knowledge!
    I am not an operator/driver, and I just started a carrier business similar to your situation. My question is what is required to add an additional driver(s) under my authority who will be driving my truck(s)?
    I understand the insurance aspect of it, listing them as a driver but when it comes to the authority, do I need to notify DOT/MC right away or is it when I file the MCS-150 annually/biannually?
    Also, do the new drivers need to be approved by the dot... or is the fact that they have a CDL, passed the physical and drug test sufficient and only requires the fleet owners approval? I hope this makes sense lol....
    Also, where else does the new driver need to be listed?

    I would rather run under my own authority because if you run under a company's authority. They can fire you've just like you're a company driver. But if you run under your own authority no one can fire you. Because it's kind of funny to me. It's kind of funny to me how a company can have thousands of accidents with all of its trucks and still be allowed to hull freight But you lease on to that company and they can fire you if you have three violations It's kind of funny how that works. And I think the owner operator should be allowed to clean up after his own mess. The same way the trucking company does.. Just pull out your check book or file your insurance and clean up your own mess. Because leasing onto a company is too risky. They can fire you at the drop of a hat

    Do I have to pay insurance while running under someone carrier
    What is the insurance for
    Is it cargo insurance or what
    I don’t understand exactly
    I’m sorry. please give some answer for me as soon as possible

    • @tfoutris

      You have to have bobtail insurance for yourself when your truck is going to the shop and other trips that aren't directly under the loads you are running. The authority you are running under also has to insure you for cargo and liability for when you are running loads under them. I hire Owner Ops and its smooth as butter as long as they are decent to good drivers. Feel free to email me a Metaphorallc@gmail.com if you have any other questions.

    I HATE BEING A COMPANY DRIVER..AFTER PURCHASING MY FIRST TRUCK AND SEEING THE MONEY YOU CAN MAKE WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN....WHEN YOU ARE A COMPANY DRIVER.ALL YOU ARE DOING IS MAKING SOMEONE ELSE RICH....

    • @tfoutris

      Company drivers have almost no liability. As long as they work they are making money. If you own your own trucks then there will be some weeks that are negative and you will lost money due to repairs and down time. It's whether or not you want to ride that roller coaster.

    Literally nothing you said makes any sense from an economic standpoint period 1 truck or 100 trucks if an accident occurs you still responsibly if you require trackers and edl no difference this is mis information at its highest

    • @TruckingFromScratch
      @TruckingFromScratch  2 года назад

      There’s an economic difference in an accident occurring in a company truck where you make 100% of that truck’s earnings VS a leased on truck where you get 20-30%. Thanks for the feedback though.

    • @MrHotboi5
      @MrHotboi5 2 года назад

      Of course 100 %vs 20% is different you forget about the maintenance the owner operater occurs doesn't come out the MC holder pockets nor do the compensation for drivers hotels gas etc. If accident occurs in a company car insurance goes plus you stuck with maintaining the equipment plus loss of time etc..
