Nice tip with the underlay, helps insulate, but I’ll still add some upholstery wadding between it and the vinyl for a more ‘professional’ and better looking end result... especially helps to soften and protect vinyl on the edges of the card over time if some wadding between vinyl and square edges of the wood
Nice job. I remember when I had my 60 VW van, I was living in Seattle. Boeing had a big surplus center where you could purchase parts cheap. I finished the inside of mine with a interior panels from the interior of planes. I also purchased some aircraft passenger seats and installed them in the front, replacing the original seats. Back then, the airlines made comfortable seats.
They still do, they're just much more expensive than the cattle car airlines wish to pay. All the stuff they failed to sell in Seattle, they would sell at EAA Oshkosh the following summer.
Is Oshkosh a place? I only know the name from tank transporter trucks that the UK military now use now instead of the mighty, but very old Scammel Commander. Which had a V12 Rolls Royce/perkins Diesel.

None on when I got it and as the door cavity forms part of the ventilation system all panels not made of plastic are Doooooomed!🤣
Final assembly with screwdriver and pliers on painted surfaces? - rather no.
