    The motor in the 550 is a rocket and until you drive one on the open road you cant comment i drive all the others at work and nothing comes close to the roll on power of this engine dont think that because its got more kW its going to be better its all about torque and where it makes it and all engines are not the same . Had mine 12 months now and would not have anything else ARB bullbar, rear bar, warn winch , ome suspension, canopy, solar, cheers

    Great looking car, and very capable -- now its full of quality Mods, I would love to have all this gear and am working towards something similar, on my new dmax, at quick glance I would say at least $40 000 ++ to have all this fitted with labour. "A few minor mods" hey you would not say that if you got the bill for this as a member of the public. Never the less all quality. Thanks for sharing ARB / Pat

    Soooooooo, what happens when you come across a small rock step or some ruts? I know its a tourer but that has no clearance, a stock patrol has more clearance than that, with a 2in lift on a patrol it still gets hung up touring.

    I love the V6 in the Nissan. Pity they don't put it in the Patrol and cut the cost of the ute..

    What size tires are those?

    • @whiteflour1
      @whiteflour1 8 лет назад

      They'd be a 31 or something between 31 and 32. 2 inches of lift sees a 32 sit on these things no worries. I have 3 inches of lift and it'll run 33's no hassles, i just leave 32's on it because it's easier on fuel and better on the beach

    U need a land rover defender 90 not a pilucks

    • @MegaRyan123456
      @MegaRyan123456 10 лет назад +5

      landcruisers rule the aussie outback you wont see many of your landrovers around there considered to unreliable

    • @MegaRyan123456
      @MegaRyan123456 10 лет назад +4

      landrover defenders have little respect in australia there just known for being unreliable english crap heaps landcruisers pretty much rule out here ! i have seen a few landrovers in the out back well shells of em lol

    • @MegaRyan123456
      @MegaRyan123456 10 лет назад

      the aussie army did have landrovers less the landrover engine lol they sourced engines from isuzu and i beleve gearboxes to from japan but i may be corrected on that point but they had a competition in the 80s i beleve toyota won the bid for a military vehicle but due to ww2 the old stalwarts in the army would not have something fully "Japanese" in there military so they opted for Japanese mechanicals in a british landrover

    9Ltrs per 100km is good but it's not really an ultimate tourer when it's struggling to get up a small slope even tho it's not stock. My 1998 pajer is better then that not in fuel consumption but in power and the ability to go off road. My drive way has slopes like that in it and it makes it in rwd no lock with no struggle. And my pajero is completely stock. Sorry mate but I think you paid a bit too much for what it isn't. The patrol is the way to go.

    170kW? 228 horsepower roughly, thats pretty weak actually

    • @c.h1645
      @c.h1645 10 лет назад +2

      its the torque that counts. and 228 ~ hp is plenty for a small stock diesel. a few up grades and these new diesels can produce up to 300 + and well over 620nm of torque. remember its not a drag car mate. its a work horse that'll tow 8000lbs without a blink!

    • @DreadlockDrummer
      @DreadlockDrummer 10 лет назад

      in north america (same truck, just called the frontier instead) it has a gasoline 4.0L engine that produces 261 hp (195 kW) and 281 pound-feet (381 N·m) of torque, that why i was disappointed with the diesel engine power.

    • @c.h1645
      @c.h1645 10 лет назад

      Fair call man. Those frontiers are a nice looking truck. Interesting to see how the Nissan titan comes out, with the 5.0 cummins v8 diesel. Should be impressive. better than the VK54DE they used. shocking mpg's in my opinion.

      DreadlockDrummer Compensating for anything?

    • @DreadlockDrummer
      @DreadlockDrummer 10 лет назад

      nope, just stating that in north america the exact same truck (called the frontier) has a gasoline engine with 261 horsepower. so the diesel engine just seems weak and silly to me

  • @discountplumbingheatingand614
    @discountplumbingheatingand614 9 лет назад

    Why would anyone do up a petrol 4x4. start with the diesel go back to the previous model and you have a real 4x4

    • @oneandaboveall
      @oneandaboveall 9 лет назад +2

      Paul Torley it is a diesel .3lt turbo

    • @discountplumbingheatingand614
      @discountplumbingheatingand614 9 лет назад

      byronicles85 no and who needs it the 2.5 is fine. The problem is the the front end of the motor not the power. These things are know to pop pistons through the engine. It ain't lack of power. Spend the extra get dual timing gears. Why Nissan upped the motor size when it was no problem anyway me thinks just to keep up with Amarok and alike what a mistake they've turned out to be.
