Great video dubey! I think internal hdmi mods for all old consoles is awesome! Really hoping for an internal snes hdmi somewhere down the road but extremely excited for gamebox’s n64Hd!!!!!
personally i want hdmi mods for every console so i dont have to deal with upscalers. got some rad2x cables coming soon to help until this becomes a reality. nes, snes, genesis, saturn are still my most wanted hdmi kits.
So many N64 HDMI mods. I've been planning on buying the N64Digital whenever it gets back in stock, but now I feel like I have to wait to see what features these other ones have. I'm sure Macho Nacho will make videos going into a lot of detail, but I just hope that's BEFORE the N64Digital gets more stock, that way I don't feel I have to wait until the NEXT next drop lol. But just based on price, I would assume N64Digital will still be better since it costs a lot more. Also I'm kind of surprised the SNES has not had an HDMI mod, I mean the 1CHIP console has had mods to fix/improve the analog output, and just recently we saw Voultar's mod to fix the blur on og boards, but it's the only nintendo console to never have an HDMI mod. An HDMI mod for the NES that doesn't change the game speed like the Hi-Def NES would also be nice, cause I like the games being totally accurate, including game speed. Though maybe that's the reason nobody has been making HDMI mods for those consoles, because they don't know how to deal with the weird FPS they have. Though new HDMI mods for the Gamecube and Wii would be what I most prefer since I use those the most, and I think PixelFX has said they've already had a design for the Gamecube (that could easily be modified for Wii as well) but haven't been able to make it due to part shortages.
I like HDMI mods on consoles but I also have a couple of upscalers. I think you have to try different stuff until you find something that works best for you. I agree that is way easier to just have a moded cosole, were you only need to carry around one cable. I do own an AV famicom that has the hi def nes mod, is one of my most prized consoles.
Sweet news! I've been waiting for a Genesis HDMI mod for awhile. My V2 looks very bad on my HD TV and I don't have the space to justify getting a CRT, so gonna buy that as soon as I possibly can.
As a person that only read news in forms on memes I thought that Twitter was dead 😅. I guess it was highly exaggerated. And I agree with you, why the N64 has like four hdmi solutions while the Snes doesn’t 😢.
KunaiGC has many benefits: onboard Memory to hold swiss and GBI directly in the chip and therefore no need for external storages. And the firmware is completely updateable via Swiss (TBI) oh and for all the "picoboot is better people": you can also use this with wires as well 😅🤣 KubaiGC has more features than PicoBoot and works differently .. so please stop compare them on featurelevel...
But: if you already have picoboot there is no need to switch to KunaiGC if you just want easy access to Swiss via SD2SP2/SDGecko. But if you want to have a system being compatible to e.g. M.2-Adapter you'll need to have KunaiGC, as IPLboot will never be able to boot from M.2 afaik.
CRTs are great and all but I love picture clarity and sharp pixels on my retro games. Played through all of Breath of Fire 1 and 2 a couple weeks ago and the pixel art on my RGB SNES Jr with a Retrotink 5x was beautiful. Really a tribute to Capcom's talented artists. So I would be in favor of more HDMI mods for my favorite consoles.
I agree, but I've seen some cases where the original artwork looks worse with sharp pixels without the blending caused by composite. Maybe someday we'll have a very accurate way to reproduce that effect!
@@dubesinhower Like the N64 HDMI mod was pretty disappointing. I don't think the dithering looks good at all sharpened. The PSX is pretty rough upscaled too, could barely play Silent Hill on it. I tend to emulate those more than I use my actual hardware.
I respect your opinion, and also like clarity and sharp pixels, but CRTs can also achieve that in the form of high TVL PVMs and BVMs, or VGA monitors via line doublers, but of course I know you meant consumer sets. For me, dual analog and digital HDMI mods are the best, as you can choose either at anytime. I like how this upcoming Genesis mod offers that and 1080p.
I'm mainly a CRT guy, but to this day I regret not picking up a Hi-def NES back when they were available, as you mentioned, they're unobtainium. I won't make the same mistake with the Genesis, thanks for letting us know. Oh and dual output: yes!
@@mancloud19 i hope you don't take offence to my comment, just don't see why we need another IPL mod. A Pico board is $6, I just don't see how this will be superior. I understand that you don't need an SD card to launch Swiss, but I don't see that being a big feature. I feel like people who are trying to launch Swiss on there gamecube are going to be using some sort of external sd adapter. Unless I'm missing something?
@@2losersinbasement no you're absolutely right for most people this is an easy to obtain mod. The HW-cost of the KunaiGC are about 4$ if you build them yourself... But you need special programmers so that's not so affordable. This IPL mod is able to be used as a storage media for e.g swiss... So if you just want to have swiss to boot you discs with patches, you should grab this mod... As it needs no additional stuff... If you just want to use GBI it's the same. No need for an SD2SP2 adapter... And if the M.2 SSD adapter will be released you also don't need an SD2SP2 adapter for chai loading, as you'll never be able to boot directly from M.2 SSD via picoboot... As Voultar said this is probably the best Modchip for GC currently available... But many people don't need "the best" but just what they can easily get.
Need to correct myself: I now learned that webhdx himself will take care that iplboot gets m.2 Adapter Support. I wasn't aware of that so please don't mind this statement 👌
Stanislav is from Ukraine, not Russia! My mistake!
you can edit your description
Stanislav is not from russia. He is Ukrainian developer which has created the best RGB and sounds mods for Sega MD ever.
Oops, thank you for the correction!

Не ожидал тут про Альтмера увидеть :)
happy Sunday Dubes!
I love your channel. I think it's way underrated and you should have more subs.
I appreciate the correction in the intro, Thank you!
I want DAC bypass to HDMI for EVERY old console. My HDMI NES looks amazing and I want that for my other systems as well.
Someone out there, for the love of god, make an nes/ Famicom board with the Nintendo multi out connector build into the PCB.

The N64 Digital has more features than the 64HD will have, but I don’t think you can go wrong with either one
yes we need all digital HDMI mods for every console setting up a switch box & crt is not my thing I love OLED it looks perfect IMO

Between Xipher making his SNES USB-C powered and a theoretical SNES HDMI mod, I wouldn't really need a super NT

I hope someday those famicom replacement motherboard have hdmi or rgb mods built in.

That’s cool that it will be updatable via Swiss!

As always 👍🏻
Kunai is kind of useless tbh. Picoboot is so easy to do, I don't see any reason to go with Kunai Over picoboot
Why? What makes picoboot superior in your opinion? Maybe I'm able to fix that in the future

@@mancloud19 All good man! Yea forsure, I definitely get it. Kunai is more for the niche market. Either way I love seeing more gamecube mods!
