Large part of the territories, almost half to the present Nagaland is under Arunachal/Manipur/Assam &( Myanmar-Divided by Indo-Myanamr International Border Line) which need to be addressed &reinstated in mutual solution. Yes it is very important to secure our border but the nagas have a special status under article 371 A. Imagine that one day right after some unknown nation gains independence your lands are divided after coming back from work you and your mother's house were divided by a border fence , your paddy fields (works station)etc etc. (people to people tie) so the Indian govt. Came up with a strategic solution with the government of Burma which is called FMR. Believe me it's not as easy as you think the northeast region is. I'm not here to criticize your idea. I think there is some confusion here. The one who wants to break the peace treaty is NSCM IM, now IM belongs to one of a tribe in MANIPUR known as tangkhul. Now tangkhul calls themselves NAGA but they don't speak for the nagas in NAGALAND but in MANIPUR. Not even in Manipur they speak for themselves which is TANGKHUL TRIBE IN MANIPUR. I know this is very confusing for the people of mainland india but it is what it is. The nagas from nagaland don't and won't listen to what NSCM IM is saying. Yes it is very important to secure our border but the nagas have a special status under article 371 A.
Imagine that one day right after some unknown nation gains independence your lands are divided after coming back from work you and your mother's house were divided by a border fence , your paddy fields (works station)etc etc. (people to people tie) so the Indian govt. I think there is some confusion here. The one who wants to break the peace treaty is NSCM IM, now IM belongs to one of a tribe in MANIPUR known as tangkhul. Now tangkhul calls themselves NAGA but they don't speak for the nagas in NAGALAND but in MANIPUR. Not even in Manipur they speak for themselves which is TANGKHUL TRIBE IN MANIPUR. I know this is very confusing for the people of mainland india but it is what it is.
The nagas from nagaland don't and won't listen to what NSCM IM is saying. For them this IM and tangkhuls are irrelevant because how can a Manipuri tribe dictate the future of Nagaland?

Other parts of northeast and Myanmar included, there's more than 60 tribes. I'm a Naga and someday we will get our freedom which is our birth right. They didn't understand the Nagas decades back and even now they do not understand us and they'll never ever understand us because we were different, we are different and we will forever be different from every angle unless we get overwhelmed by the majority population and we dont want that. I used to be always someone in the middle in this matter but as I grow up gaining more knowledge and learning how the world and its politics works in every direction of the earth I see myself more drawn away from being called an Indian. Anything we Nagas do for our own cause gets tagged as anti-national. So it means I do something at the interest of my family for my family and my neighbours keep complaining just because it doesn't fit into their perspective.
Better focus on economics of the state all issues will be solved.

And we cannot put down our customs and traditions just to let others accept us according to their terms. Nagaland was a part of Assam . Mizoram ,Arunachal also were parts of Assam. First Independent country in North East was Manipur having constitution of their own
