Not only that but teams didnt organize to pass around with short passing, through balls as good back then. Ronaldo didnt have iniesta, xavi and busquets feeding him as many opportunites. Not to take any success away from messi. But having the whole team organized around you helps. National team being the exception.
I gotta admit that whilst he played I never thought his goals were pretty, but the guy always scored and that was phenomenal! he really was special, I still think his goals were ugly, knees, shins, never clean ones, but they always counted, you cannot take that away from him.

r9 is the best of the best the balls were harder to kick the pitches most were bad so to have the skills he had back then against other legends cause back then you had more great players every team had 5 great players to todays maybe 5 in the whole of football messi said he was the best he had seen cr7 as a player is nowhere near R9 plus they watched him growing up lol he changed how football was played he would have scored weigh more goals in todays game you can't tackle like how they did back then
