Jay Giraud, the CEO of Damon motorcycles, has a long history of raising money for various applications and projects that failed. And Damon's business model, with the "reserve now" is the same as Elio Motors...the 3-wheeled vehicle that raised hundreds of millions with no produced vehicle.
You should look at the CEO, CFO, and others that helm Damon motorcycles.

@@Drakelett- This motorcycle might be one those failed projects. I say this because Damon motorcycles acquired a lot of the tech and designs with their line of bikes from Mission Motors and their Mission R electric motorcycle. Even with being featured on Jay Leno’s Garage, Mission Motors still failed. The MSRP killed Mission and it’ll likely kill Damon as well especially with the major manufacturers dipping their toes into the EV market.

They will take pre-orders but never get production going, which is a shame because the few demo bikes they sent out are apparently pretty good (minus the rear shock). THey are also looking at selling a dirtbike for nearly 20k. The only company I can see actually doing it other than ktm who have done it to some success is yamaha as they have been dominating the EV engine market for cars in the background. If they bring that to their bikes they will take over the market.

I would like to see all those safety awareness features incorporated in a helmet HUD. You only ride a motorcycle with your head up if you want to survive and anytime you have to look down for situational awarness you are taking your focus away from where it needs to be. Sell it to a helmet manufacturer and get the hardware/software off the bike and out of the budget. Damon should focus on the performance and weight of the bike itself.

    Battery max of 21.5KWH.
One gallon of gasoline contains 33.7KWH of potential energy. Of that 33.7KWH, about 22% is actually used to propel the vehicle giving us 7.4KWH of energy per gallon. So a 5 gallon tank will yield around 37.7KWH of usable energy.
For electric motors, about 72% of potential energy is used to propel the vehicle giving us 15.5 KWH of usable energy in this case. Or, the equivalent of about 2-ish gallons of fuel.
Obviously these are very rough numbers, but I seriously doubt the range claims unless you are absolutely hyper mile-ing the thing at 40mph.

Like almost all EV bikes - they sort of turn out to be vapour ware. They tend to run these companies following the tesla model (silicon valley model) which is get a ton of VC funding, get a prototype out and make some wild claims - good marketing videos - Get pre - orders to proceed to stay stay in business long enough to burn through it and produce nothing. It is a plague in the in the tech industry and seemingly so in this world. Stark did the exact same thing - bought up all of Alta's IP and built a new bike - take preorders and try to focus marketing on their "phone" integration system. These guys tend to live off of VC funds.

I put down the $100 deposit for the HS 200 hp model August of 2021. I'm near the beginning of the list if they ever actually start coming out.
The most annoying thing is at the time I reserved they were saying they would be coming out Mid-Late 2022. Then they changed it to early 2023. Then late 2023 and as of about 3 weeks ago when they sent out a new news letter they said early 2024. So its looking like one of those failed companies even though they have had a running model for videos since 2020.
When they come out I'm going to check other peoples reviews first and if it suck ass and was a lie I'll cancel my reserve.
That being said if I do get it you're welcome to ride it for a video review.
