@@SynicalBeats Agreed, I'd rather break the speed limit to get out of somebodies blind spot rather than just sit there. Defensive riding is the absolute most important skill when riding a motorcycle on the street, which a lot of people lack and/or don't care about, because they'd rather show off to their friends and blame everybody else.

I was thinking, “Nah, not me,” until I realized I rode my bike in the rain to the barber shop broke every law in the book on the way there, parked it out front in full view, hung my jacket up and talked bikes to the barber the whole time. Have I been doing this my whole life?

Southern MO car drivers don't fallow any traffic laws. Most bikes I've came across are more respectful then most car drivers.

I got the biker wave from a scooter bro this morning. They never wave back… (I think because most motorcyclist ignore them) but this guy was on point as soon as I threw the hand down. Seems dumb but it gets to me that they never give one back and leave me hanging 9 times out of 10.

I appreciate the fact that this man just called me out on all but the unnecessary revving. Yes, I used to do that. But now I have realized that I actually care about the people around me, and they don't need to hear the sound of an R6 with a two brothers on at 16k rpm with 3 foot flames coming out of it. Why? Well that's easy. It's obnoxious. I honestly wish my bike were a little quieter, but I also don't want to spend more money on the exhaust system.
I rev my engine so cars around me know a motorcycle is close by. If they can't see me they'll hear me.
Is it me or does anyone else hate when you can't tell if it's a bike or a scooter and you throw down the low deuce and it turns out to be a scooter and you feel ashamed?

Yammie, please do more test ride reviews like you did on the XSR900 which was outstanding. Don’t use 4 year old loaner bikes from fans go to the dealer and test drive new bikes for the review.
Identifying motorcycle sounds is a knee jerk reaction to identifying if my dad is on his way home to beat my ass for being outside when I shouldn't be. But it's pretty nice when you're correct.

Yeh, the whole "other bikers" thing is fucking real man. I just had a conversation with a more or less complete stranger, on a topic almost completely unrelated, then I brought up fuel costs and potential savings if I could use the bike, and boom... half an hour of bike talk :P

I have 3 million + miles in a truck and 1 million+ in regular vehicles without accidents or tickets. I stay within 5 of the limit most of the time even on the bike because of work. I have my very rural places that I will do the 25-125 pull. There are no houses and I won't do it if anyone is around. Of course getting on the highway is fun.
