My simple 35 minute commute to work, which I normally dread in the cage, becomes an exhilarating adventure on my bike, then I’ll look forward my whole shift to my ride home to experience it again. There’s nothing like it and I feel truly alive every time.

My commute is 15 to twenty minutes... the motor on my SV wouldn't get up to temp in that time.
So I have another cup of coffee and drone to work in my car.
But, true to your post, I feel heightened brain, body, and eye function from riding.

Riding a motorcycle is the biggest contradiction in the best way possible. Its stressful yet relaxing, it is loud yet silences the mind, its the most high tech product i own seeking for remote nature. Its technical, yet the most natural feeling. Your in your own world while wearing a helmet, yet you come in touch with people, places, the world while riding. Its like ying and yang.

Presently own an FJR, as well as an old KTM400exc, but could definitely see myself on an MT-10 soon. I still LOVE the feeling of powerful highway pulls but prefer the twisty stuff right outside my front door (Central Rocky's of Colorado) of which there are PLENTY to choose from. Your content is topnotch, and even and old guy like me can enjoy the channel. You ROCK, Yammy!!! Oh . . . I've ridden all kinds of bikes and experienced every single type of moto community out there... The best experience, the best people and the best feel, is always with Adventure Moto groups/communities. They are just some of the best communities to be a part of, not just in moto world but in general. There are also a lot of very knowledgeable and experienced (and even successful) people in these communities. When I'm riding with an Adventure/Travel moto club or group, I feel like I'm riding with family members or at the very least with people that I've known all my life, even though I have just met them few days prior! It's honestly one of the best experiences ever!

I have a 55 mile commute to work each way and I was so miserable doing it every day in my car than a 11 hour shift. Getting a Harley was best thing I ever did and the only thing that sucks is I can't ride year round because of extreme fall and winter temps in upstate NY so I get about 6 months per year to ride and half those days are rain and cold mornings. I work 5 pm to 4 am and from 4am-7am is coldest point in the day so often it's beautiful riding in but leaving it's always like 40° F which is to cold on highway for 50 miles. If it was a 20 mile commute I could do it but man my whole body is numb by halfway no matter how many layers. Anyways, riding gave me something to look forward to and I really enjoy my commute when on my Harley.

Cool insights! Motorcycling is a recreational pastime and that’s about it (there are exceptions like commuting to work or basic transportation in a lot of countries, etc.).
There are popular sayings that go like ‘you never see a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrist’s office’, or ‘wind therapy’, but it can be a deceptive waste of time with nothing to show for it in the end if you’re not careful.
You don’t “find yourself” out there, you don’t resolve your mental, moral or relationship issues by riding motorcycles. That comes from other approaches to life that takes more explanation than what can be offered here.
But bikes are fun, and I enjoy riding and seeing beautiful sights at times on my touring bike, especially with my wife along, or with a couple of buddies.

You usually never stop more quickly on a motorcycle. It is either close to a car or slightly worse as most motorcycles are limited by their geometry and weight distribution. Having the need to decrease braking power to not flip over.
Some bikes can max out their tire traction without flipping (usually low center of gravity or very long wheelbase), but others can't even break properly (ex: supermotos).

A quick comparison between driving a car and riding a motorcycle is, some people love to walk in the countryside over hills and mountains, others love to fly over hills and mountains.

OK, I might have asked this before, but ... the stock-ish footage of the Harley cruiser riders starting at 03:18, is that from a movie or something? It's in a lot of your videos, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it in other RUclipsrs' videos, and I just kind of want to know its origin. Gobbless and watch out for daclibbins, brotherrrr.

That being said, I am buying my first motorcycle tomorrow at the age of 35. I can't wait to shut the world out and hit the road

Hi Yammie, i have a question, I was wondering is it possible to switch position of the clutch and rear break lever? Like instead of breaking with right foot, you break using the clutch lever, and vise versa, this could answer a lot of my questions, thank you man, we appreciate always a good advice from you.

The roads & lanes in the U.K. are quite narrow, so taking a long, sweeping corner on the motorway at 120-150 means first getting yourself positioned in the lane so your head doesn't overlap into the next lane when you're mid-corner, so you have around a foot-wide piece of tarmac to aim for, then you have the 30-60MPH crosswinds that cause you to make adjustments every 1/2 second while banked at that speed, the wind from the bike's speed trying to tear your knees away from the tank.... being locked-in enough to control that lot plus experiencing the feeling of tipping it in at stupid speeds is better than any drug known to humanity.

little story about connecting to people
4 years ago a good buddy got himself a Sena comsystem and was riding around, solo as always, while being on the open channel. He heard a small group comming towards him, another guy, his girlfriend and another female friend of them. After quick talk, he turned around and joined them for the ride. They stayed in contact and 3 years later, he and that female friend got married.
If that's not the best "how I met your mother"-story, I don't know what is

Can't disagree with a single thing here. All truth, and all part of why I love riding so much. I stopped for a few years because I sold my bikes to get a muscle car I really wanted. Had fun with it for a bit, took it to the drag strip etc... but as much fun as a 500hp car can be, once I bought a cheap bike again, I found that I had more fun going normal speeds on it than I did going much higher speeds in the car. Sold it, bought more bikes. Now my cars are just appliances for getting around, like most people. My bikes are what I actually care about.

My first bike was a heavily used but well cared for 2005 Hyosung GT250 Comet (30 peak horse power). Slow as far as bikes are concerned, but so much fun in very tight corners. Plus, it was cheap so there was no concern over the cost of it, though I was concerned with it because it was my bike and was so much fun, honestly regret getting rid of it. $14/month on insurance at 21, about 60mpg.
Any bike is fun and getting a cheap bike as a starter bike is great, had to do some work on it a few times, snapped the head bolt off in the block cause it was froze up, got it out though and learned some patience.
Just ride safe and have fun.
