While I do not know 100% for that deal, I can give you a similar situation when the 49ers and Bears swapped pick over Mitch Trubisky. SF convinced the Bears to move up from 3 to 2 and give SF their 2nd round pick, even though the 49ers had their eyes on Solomon Thomas, and Mitch would have fallen to the Bears anyway. How did they do it? The 49ers were shopping the pick to teams that needed a QB, and if the Bears were not willing to move up, then the 49ers were happy to fall outside the top 5 and collect even more draft capital. If the 49ers lost out on Thomas, they still had eyes on Christian McCaffery (Run CMC) and other top prospects. So, with that example, the Vikings could have been feeling out a deal with other teams who wanted a HB and baited the Browns to move up... else some other team would scoop up the man they wanted.

Seeing Luke Kuechly getting drafted here made me realize he retired and I'm sad again. As a panther fan I'm thankful for Luke being apart of this team his years as a panther
Blackmon was a good pick. His off field issues is what messed his career up. But he played well his rookie year and the following year even tho he only played 4 games lol
I still can't believe how long ago 2012 was. That was the year I got into the draft and I never would've expected Luck would be retired by this time. He's gonna be that guy I'll go on about and talk about how the stats did not tell the full story about just how great he was.
The Colts would’ve won a super bowl if Ryan Grigson wasn’t their GM. Truly one of the worst general managers of all time. He never once put a competent team around Luck and never invested in an offensive line, which led to Luck being so injury prone.
As a Colts fan I was so happy in 2012 b4 the season even started. I miss him so much. If he would of stayed around. I promise he would have a ring and a MVP and we would of created an amazing dynasty. I’m still content with where we are at the end of Dec of 2021 Jonathan Taylor should be MVP he has 9 more TDs at the same time of the season that AP had when he won MVP this draft year in 2012 and he’s only in his second year and broke a ton of rookie records! Wentz has also gotten comfortable I think. All we need is another WR like a bigger name or a super good draft pick in next draft and we are golden. If we don’t win this year. Next year it’s gonna be our year! As a Colts fan I speak for all of us and say we miss you Andrew Luck and this is really one of the best draft classes I think top 10-15 of all time if not higher! I still can't believe how long ago 2012 was. That was the year I got into the draft and I never would've expected Luck would be retired by this time. He's gonna be that guy I'll go on about and talk about how the stats did not tell the full story about just how great he was.

The Colts would’ve won a super bowl if Ryan Grigson wasn’t their GM. Truly one of the worst general managers of all time. He never once put a competent team around Luck and never invested in an offensive line, which led to Luck being so injury prone.

Luck was already healed up, it just took Luck a year and a half to heal up from a bad shoulder injury. But 2018 Luck was healthy.

As a Colts fan I was so happy in 2012 b4 the season even started. I miss him so much. If he would of stayed around. I promise he would have a ring and a MVP and we would of created an amazing dynasty. I’m still content with where we are at the end of Dec of 2021 Jonathan Taylor should be MVP he has 9 more TDs at the same time of the season that AP had when he won MVP this draft year in 2012 and he’s only in his second year and broke a ton of rookie records! Wentz has also gotten comfortable I think. All we need is another WR like a bigger name or a super good draft pick in next draft and we are golden. If we don’t win this year. Next year it’s gonna be our year! As a Colts fan I speak for all of us and say we miss you Andrew Luck and this is really one of the best draft classes I think top 10-15 of all time if not higher! Defensive wise anyway easily
