Memelord Lezterp the problem with competitive is that, competitive this game shouldn't have ever got that mode you used to encounter good players on pubs all the time
Valve's competitive mode has nothing to do with what you're saying. Good players don't play the competitive mode that valve made. They play mixes, scrims, and officials.
Slurgi was and still is the spy that stands out from all the others. The way he plays is far better that most spies I see. He taught me movement, stabs, how to get away, how to act. And to this day I still main spy, been playing since 2012, and god how much I’ve improved from him is amazing. Every other spy I see in pubs and in lobbies is mediocre and tries to pretend they’re better. They always attempt the basic stabs like if the players are braindead. I try to stand out and I try to play differently. If my last resort is a trick stab then I’ll go for it I won’t just say “ welp im dead. “ It honestly pays off. The unpredictability and the excitement of being a spy main is a truly rewarding thing to feel that you can’t experience without seeing for yourself. Good spies are so underrated. For example, Slurgi, Klown, Moo, Goldin, are so under appreciated, and they deserve more attention then that one garbage lime green spy. One time I was fighting a spy that my friend m00ver said I should 1v1, and it turns out the guy who was fighting me was using a high interp, and he told me and I quote, “ if there’s an easier way for me to play and get kills then hell yes im gonna abuse it. “ which kind of disgusted me. Even then I still destroyed him. But still, the better spies are the underrated ones.
You probably know this by now but... 1. Spy got a movement buff(now moves as fast as the medic I believe) 2.kunai got buffed(start off with 70 health instead of 60) -big earner is now extremely effective and viable even in competitive due to the speed boost it gives you after killing someone with it. Very good for chainstabs. 3.All invisi watches were buffed -deadringer rebuffed to reduce 75% instead of 40 or whatever they nerfed it to originally -manual cloaks now reduce duration of debuffs like jarate and afterburn while you're in cloak 3. You can now see teammates through the wall on respawn for a couple of seconds. If you are disguised, the enemy player that just respawned can see you so undisguise if you are far behind the enemy's spawn room
It's been a really long time and I'm not really interested in tf2 anymore but welcome back Slurgi, you are by far one of the best and most effective teachers I have learned off and this video made my day so much better.
welcome back to TF2! I hope that year long break was nice! It's yet quite refreshing to see videos from you again! Lately, things have been happening I don't have much time to play TF2 anymore. busy busy busy. But I guess I can stay up to 2 AM watching the legendary Slurgi's latest video. and I'm pretty happy that I can there's another person to inspire me to play TF2 again, without using the dead ringer. From what I can remember, I've grown TOO aggressive and I've become to reliant on the dead ringer, which isn't helping.
@@TF2Slurgi That you really don't have to trickstab, you can just take it chill and still do well at the game and that sometimes it can pay off doing a risky decloak even if it puts you in a bad situation sometimes. Basically you don't have to be all trickstabby and stuff even if it may seem like that, and i also think that they are really useful and good to know, but you can't always cut through the enemy like butter and absolutely dominate. Basically you can take it chill. Also this all may seem obvious but i am a bit new to the game.
Ikr my friend, this gameplay without cutting and no trickstabs is way better fot learning, watching all his dodging skills, agressive decloaks and mindset

Pub experience doesn't help much in competitive so don't rely on it too much.

High interp doesn't even help you lol it just makes it just adds more luck factor to your trickstabs and makes a lot of stuff harder.

Generally you can see how much they hear by their movement, for example those guys just pressing w without strafing or jumping or even looking around
