    In case it wasn't clear. YES, this is an early look and there could be more to show, it'd just be very weird for them to leave out such crucial info that actually makes it a good system.

      It not even loadout, just auto equip based on main stat, what kinda useless, ppl wanted save sets and ability to change it and go back to saved one in a second

      I totally agree that this looks pretty bad, this is the weirdest round about way that they could have implemented it. Aaaand worse yet is that they might think they have given us the artifact loadout system that we've been asking for and not make a proper and better one...

    The whole reason people wanted loadouts was to be able to designate specific artifacts and save them as different loadout sets for different characters. Giving us auto-equip features doesn't solve anything. Hell even Star Rail has that and no one uses it because it's a garbage feature

      Ye, the only saving grace is that Genshin’s quick equip is based on active player aggregate data. StarRail is just random BS go.

      @@cjwat1118 it would still be a bad and unreliable thing. If we look at Thoma's recomended set, based on a players data, there is no any Burgeon set for some reason. Or MH set for Noelle, if you are using Furina. Because you need your specific set, based on your specific preferences right now, not what most of the players using.

    Loadouts are meant to allow you to save a set of equipment and be able to quickly swap among those saved sets in a press of a button.
    If the saving aspect is not in the new system they add then its not loadouts, its just a sorting system in another form.

      It honestly needs to be team based too.
      If Bennett is in team A, I want everyone to have *these* artifacts, if Bennett is in team B I want *those* artifacts.
      I want my entire team's load out to be swapped with a click

      @@ReaperCet it really doesn't _need_ to be team based IMO. that just adds a loadout system on top of a loadout system that (ideally) already minimizes button presses enough. here's your loadouts, and heres your loadouts of loadouts. too many loadouts IMO, especially since someone may have multiple versions of basically the same team, but each character that switches has a different ideal set.

    Hoyo would rather code a whole algorithm to find artifacts that would probably still not find the artifact we want than let us choose and save different loadouts to switch builds easier.

      Best of all hsr has quick equip so I bet you until hsr does it they aren’t gonna implement a save for artifacts if the code doesn’t already exist.

      @@dragonfury197we already have presets of team comps. they have the programming already. so implement the same on artifacts. they just need to let us save artifact presets (say, 10 saved presets) and allow us equip presets to our characters in one press of a button.

    I recognize that there are some QoLs that are money losses, but artifact loadouts are not that, im amazed at how they made such a cool and complex system instead of just adding the simple saved loadouts which is also infinitely more efficient than this

      @@IdOnThAvEaUsE69 That's worse because it discourages people to spend, if someone doesn't want a certain constellation for a 5 star then they won't pull for them. It's an issue with older 5 star characters but it's still a money loss for them

      @@I.disagree I meant for C6 Bennett. Usually the Constellations are in increasing order of META. C1 Hutao, C1 Yelan, and C2 Furina would be an exception, of course.

      @@I.disagree Well thankfully, it seems that C6 Bennett doesn't have a perma red mark notification on the character screen. I usually try to do all the red marks. So I haven't had any problems with constellations lol. I don't really use Bennett much either, so that could be another reason.

    Hoyo, if you needed someone to explain in details what type of loadouts we wanted, all you had to do is ask... I am sure many players would IN DETAIL explain what loadouts are if you're struggling a little

      I described how i would set it up, as an admittedly amateur game dev, in the feedback section hoyo set up for player feedback and all i got in response was "were working on loadouts dw" but then we get this lol

    As far as I know, the loadouts we've all been wanting are a "switch between custom sets that you make completely yourself" type of thing. Kinda like the team screen, but for artifacts.
    I'd love to have that so I could run full EM Alhaitham or crit and just be able to swap between them whenever I want. I don't want to be searching through hundreds of artifacts just to find the right ones.
    I really hope Hoyo does this right, because this also has me a little worried.

    Many games have had loadouts for countless years, I feel they just withhold the obvious QoL changes from us most of the time for various reasons so I’m not surprised if it sucks just dissapointed, with how much money they make as one of the top, if not the top gacha games they can most certainly easily program it with the amount of resources they have available
    But 1000+ days later it seems we’re finally getting some of the bare minimum so that’s nice.. I guess

      Yep, Tower of Fantasy had it, pretty sure. I got lucky in one of the banners too. The story, was not quite, well... interesting. But I only got till the port city part. Who knows if the main story after it is oscar winning.

      Honkai impact had it within 2-3 years but that game gets a pass, it was their first proper game and they definitely made it a lot better with every passing year. So many other gachas I play already have loadout system since launch or added it within 1 year (path to nowhere for example, added it in few months after launch)

But, I consider a story 'Oscar-winning' if it makes you feel something in your empty heart. But then again, I wouldn't know lol. I'm a sucker for power fantasy stories like in Genshin and Nikke. So my perception of a good story might be skewed xd,

    The thing is, this "predicting" feature seems even harder to code than just... letting us manually pick a set of artifacts.
    We asked for a basket of apples and got a carriage of bananas instead, even though we didn't want bananas at all.
    Third party programs and websites like Aspirine already do this better than genshin

      ​ @christiangonzalez6945 Allow a fellow aspirine user to explain; genshin(.) aspirine(.) su is a website where you can create custom- or import your own character builds from in game. It mainly enables you to view character builds, including ones of characters you may not own yet. Besides choosing what (talent-) level, weapon and (custom-)artifacts the character has, you can also save multiple builds of the same character. Essentially giving you character loadouts. I hope this explanation helped. If you have any futher questions, feel free to ask me 🙃

    i really dont know why we cant just pick specific pieces and save the combination. although this system might be more useful than it seems at first glance.
    i think it operates on the assumption that you have all your artifacts unequipped at the start. you then equip your characters from most important to least important. so, in your example of kaeya vs raiden, youd want to equip raiden first so she'll get the best pieces, then equip kaeya from the currently unequipped pieces, so he'll get second best. you can then go on and equip your current teams one character after the other.
    that being said, its still so needlessly convoluted. seriously, who cooked this up? mfs burned the entire kitchen.

      AND if they want the system to actually work as you say, they would need to also add a remove all button for a character as going into each character piece to remove every single artifact would make it not worth it in the long run for most people. on top of that, unless they also create a UI that shows whta chracters have what pieces (similar to the inventory, but shown in the character screen) you will also need to keep track of what characters had your artifacts so you can then remove them when you want to switch

      They're tryna avoid auto switching Artis so players grind for separate artis for each character they pull for. So the resin refreshers spend more.

      People keep bringing up EM Raiden but it seems most just put her on the standard
      It's just seem more that they see the data and not a lot of people are using different builds

      @@razor5694if that’s the case, then they can set up an artifact preset system where you are not allowed to save the same artifact piece in any saved preset. we’re not allowed to equip the same artifact piece on two characters at the same time. so implement the same on saved artifact presets.

      @@demonking-zm3rs Maybe, but that's the only reason I can think of as to why they wouldn't implement it. I use certain characters with different builds. But I understand most of genshins player base are casuals so they might not see the need to implement it.

    I totally agree with you, we've been asking for loadouts for so long for a reason, instead of understanding that they just gave us a glorified sorting option, though I think this coupled with QoL changes in 4.3 proves that they're listening and want to make changes, so hopefully they take feedback on this aswell

      @@Satyricon42 The thing is, I actually do agree with your view on the Genshin dev team's treatment of the player base, in that they just do the bare minimum and rely on people just accepting what they get. This is more of an unusual case in my opinion, I think they just messed up this time and shuold be given proper criticism for it, which I did, just politely. I'm willing to give them a chance since I feel like they actually tried to do what they thought we needed but if they don't deliver I firmly believe we shouldn't just shut up with what we've gotten and ask for what we deserve

    I agree that this system does not satisfy what vocal users have been asking for, and was probably a bad move to release at this time and this level of info about any potential additional features now or in the future.
    All of that said, it's clear from the design who this is for. This is for players who struggle to even put together a decent build in the first place, for whom the game is actually still a pain and causing people to fall off of the game due to not investing enough in this process. It is aimed at a group of people we can barely perceive, because they are the kinds of players that aren't out here engaging with the community actively.
    Hell, Genshin Optimizer (a much more powerful version of this feature) is what finally got me to pay closer attention to building my characters, so the usefulness of this feature shouldn't be underestimated. But yes, at the end of the day, this is not QoL for most vets.

      @@FinnManusia There are people starting Genshin for the first time all the time, legitimately. As the game has gone on, the new player experience began to need some adjustments based on the behaviors they were seeing in their telemetry/metrics and are trying to smooth out any bumps. I'm sure that QoL for the vets is also in the works, they're just prioritizing making sure people aren't bouncing off, or feel like now that it's easier they can come back.

    It's clearly said it's not artifact loadout it's fast equip artifacts system. It's like the enhanced version of HSR auto equip.

      @@_mako loadout is a word of many contexts. It's a custom loadout for the prefered affixes in the context of a fast equip feature.

    It really does feel like we keep getting almost what we ask for but there is just subtly something wrong with it. I hope the load out system dies let us save a designated set because I think even for casual players they probably have a lot of piece lying around and being able to just move your best set or second best set around will be monumentally useful.
    I am interested in what the optimization feature will do because I currently use the Genshin optimizer for my builds so I'm wondering if it will be anything close to that.

    There seems to be an option to save a custom loadout, but if it's just one then... I don't see much of a point lmao
    Let's hope we get at least 2.

      One is still better than nothing. This gives the option to revert back to a default build in a single click.
      However you didn't see me say this. Make the cap 5 minimum hoyoverse. I am not giving you ideas to keep it at 1.

      The custom "loadout" is actually just the artifact auto-locking filter stuffed into the artifact menu, altered for equipping rather than locking
      The quick loadout is the HSR auto equip function that uses data collected from other players similar to the genshin talent leveling suggestions based on what other players level up first/second/last

    It feels like they heard what everyone's been asking for, but for whatever reason actively avoided doing that and instead just gave us a different feature with the same name.
    All we as players really want is something like the party set-up menu, but for artifacts/weapons for each character. Really hoping they update this further in the future because as it is right now, no one is going to be using it except for maybe new players.

    Yeah, I thought exactly the same thing about the loadouts. I think they implemented a system which sort of matches the one in HSR. *sigh* Unfortunately, I DON'T think we'll get anything better than this, at least not in the first version. This is going out in 4.4. There's no way they can put in a saved loadout system before that releases because they probably had to have the code available for review for the PlayStation a couple of weeks ago. 4.4 is already set in stone.
    The weird thing, of course, is that it would have been easier to just implement a saved system and they went ahead and came up with a statistical analysis system we didn't ask for. On the other hand, a saved system means expanding the data-storage requirements for the game (potentially a lot), and the statistical version doesn't. I wonder is storage space is getting tricky on mobile?

      Addendum: Oh... Cynical Me just worked out why they haven't, and probably won't. implement the loadout system we want. It lets you share good artefacts between characters you usually don't use together. Not what I want it for, but it would. That reduces the requirement for farming artefacts domains. Given the horrific RNG on artefact domains, we are supposed to farm them a lot. Ergo, no saved loadouts. I'm sad.

      Good analysis, I can't help but to agree. All the more reason for me to double down on my own philosophy: get "good-enough" artifacts for each character and stop farming. The combat will be challenging again, your resin shortages won't be so bad, and substat RNG can't hurt you if you don't roll the dice.

      @@brianku9805 Having come up with a horribly cynical view of things, seems strange to offer justifications, but I was a programmer once and I know how this stuff goes. We learn, we grow. Genshin IS a 3-year-old game and HSR was clearly built with all the experience of producing Genshin under the team's belt. It's quite possible that the devs have an easier time developing the changes we want in HSR because it was built to make these things easier. Genshin is having to deal with all the code the kludged in to get it to work which they could reimplement when doing HSR and make much easier to work with. I'm not excusing anything here, btw; it's just that I can see why it might be easier in HSR. Nor am I excusing this poor excuse for a loadout system (which they don't actually call a loadout system). This isn't what was requested, and I don't think we'll ever get what we want.

    I use my non built character as my artifact loadout

      I used to do that. But even that can become tedious eventually. I have the Traveler holding my full EM Raiden set. My Raiden currently holds a Hypercarry build ER-Atk-Crit. I don’t switch anymore when i want to use Raiden for Hyperbloom. Too tedious.

    Praying for further improvements bcs they have an actual load out on honkai impact 3rd so I don't get why genshin/hsr is using a whole diff system for this. Still, this one dev discussion def seems more promising than prev ones

    This is just basically HSR auto equip++. Even I don't use that feature that much in HSR.
    Still, I think it's a good change most especially for new/casuals who can just set it and they're done.
    However, For us veterans, This is not what we asked for.
    To be fair, It could serve as the foundation. They could add Edit/Save function later which is the Actual Loadouts but who knows at this point.

      This system works perfectly if you have 1 of each piece of a set that most people use on your chosen unit and you have another unit with the same preferred artifact set and ER requirements. You can then use the auto equip feature to swap that one specific set between those two units. In almost any other situation it is useless.

      it doesn't equip used artifacts which means you can filter them out if you dont like substats. I will be useful for me and anyways i am not day 1 player i dont have 4 sets for each unit but i hoard a lot. Time to get rid of mid artifacts with this system. Scrolling the artifact screen top to bottom looking for pieces can go die in a fire.

    what i wanted from artifact loadouts was an easier way to equip multiple full sets on the same person without having to remember which specific artifact. for example like.. i fi wanted to flop between physical keqing and electro keqing, have two different sets for that and just swap between them without losing my mind.

      Exactly. Like i have shield bot Thoma & Burgeon trigger Thoma. i don’t understand why they can’t allow us to save artifact presets. Instead, we get yet another glorified sorting filter for artifacts.
      Thing is, we already have savable team comp presets. They have the programming already. They just need to implement the same on savable artifact presets.

    If nothing else, looking on the bright side, HOPEFULLY this means I can switch around artifacts for the abyss without pulling my hair out. I would prefer ACTUAL loadouts though, if only so I don't forget what builds each character had when I do try the system out.
    Edit: Just tried it out and it DEFINITELY makes finding artifacts for the Abyss faster (even if it still requires the custom manual input to avoid stupid decisions *cough giving yanfei unleveled artifacts because they're the only crimson witch pieces i have cough*), but I still couldn't clear 12-1 despite deciding to go chamber by chamber instead of trying to clear the entire floor. (I did try clearing all at once, but Tighnari's... wonderful performance against the perpetual mechanical array dissuaded me)
    It DID let me know that both my Venti and Kaeya are using the best artifacts I have, which is honestly great to know because I would've felt stupid having my old main and current main on subpar artifacts lol. It also let me know that I have a SEVERE artifact deficit, so that's nice. And no matter what I do Kazuha isn't getting to 1k EM, so rip.
    Now I'm going to complain about the Abyss, because I hate the Thundering Manifestation and refuse to even ATTEMPT any abyss that has it anymore because it literally just wastes my time like the stupid wenut. It isn't worth the 50 primos to do my best, so I'm not going to (because getting more than 3 stars is a pipedream for floor 12 and i refuse to bother when exploring is more lucrative anyway). If you want a TL:DR- The Abyss would be fun if you couldn't time out, even if you end up with zero stars. I hope if we ever get more endgame content that there isn't a stupid time limit. Also, Baizhu is a literal god.
    Floor 11 was fine, i only got 8/9 stars trying with optimized artifacts, but I can't be bothered to be salty about it. Keqing and Fischl did fine against the chicken, and I could've brought beidou to make that fight go faster, but i'm not taking FLOOR ELEVEN chamber by chamber.
    I timed out of Floor 12 chamber 1 multiple times before giving up, and switched around my teams several times. The PMA was a slow clear at about 4 and a half mins, but Kaeya and Chongyun performed above expectations (chongyun especially- i did NOT expect the WG to up his burst damage that much lol), Kokomi did her job and also helped freeze the stupid mini machines, and Fischl was useless. Not a single electro-charged reaction, which is honestly impressive. If I try again, which I won't, I'll have to figure out who to replace her with (likely Dendro Traveler) and I'm certain I can kill it in under 4 minutes if i don't have OBS running and causing HORRENDOUS lag.
    Second side, first team was a Yanfei team and she kept getting bodied by overloads and couldn't dodge bc of her stamina cost, so rip. Second team my level 61 Baizhu yoinked Layla's tenacity set and proceeded to become god for the few hours i attempted this. The only time he died was this last run when i gave up and decided to let him die on purpose, and i timed out literally the second after. As for the rest of them... Tighnari wasn't doing enough DPS despite having a wonderful crit ratio and good EM, the "optimized" artifacts gave Benny 270 ER and that still wasn't enough because the TM hates melee characters, and Kazuha was literally just a liability because bennett's burst wasn't up frequently enough for him to burst and swirl pyro (not that the bastard would stay in his area of effect anyway). Baizhu was the only one that did his job and did it well. Unfortunately, Venti would be even worse than Kazuha here (especially since he's MUCH squishier), Layla's artifacts are being used by Baizhu (who was doing too well to kick off the team), Yanfei had already proven herself determined to die via overloads and stamina drain, and Jean wouldn't make much difference because she's melee and Bennett's burst would still be an issue.
    The only other teams I COULD try would be Kaeya, Chongyun, Kokomi, Dendro MC for the PMA, and maybe Tighnari, Xingqiu, Bennett, Baizhu for the TM to ATTEMPT to get some burgeons or blooms off, since Quicken obviously wasn't working and Burning wasn't triggering. I'm probably not going to bother though.
    Looking back on my Abyss history, literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I fail to clear (let's be real i rarely get a single star lol) is because of an Electro Boss. Whether it be the seahorse or the manifestation, i can never kill them in a timely manner. Despite having been a KAEYA MAIN. Currently not a Kaeya main, but he's still the best built character on my account. Even if he wasn't, I have Yanfei, Bennett, Layla, Tighnari, Baizhu, and Chongyun, I shouldn't be struggling to kill these stupid things. I once had everyone except Kokomi die to Coppelia with 4/5ths of its health left and I still managed to clear! It's ridiculous, and infuriating! I know their attack patterns the best because I have to fight them so many times, only to inevitably give up because even with good artifacts I just can't kill them! If we ever get more endgame content, i hope to whatever god exists that it doesn't have a time limit. Time limits are a way to artificially increase difficulty, because even if i get zero stars, if there wasn't a time limit i would've managed to clear.
    Anyway, I hate electro bosses in the Abyss because even using proper artifacts doesn't help me. And now all my sets are jumbled because I don't have loadouts. Great. I'm not fixing it for anyone except venti and kaeya.

    The thing is the characters will only be increasing more and more eventually, as a casual i‘m okay because I only have enough characters but imagine whale, creators or hardcore players that own every characters have to do this everytime for all of characters

    I have a main dps Kazuha build but when I go into abyss I change it to EM
    But when I just hop around in the overworld I like seeing bigger anemo dmg but I tend to forget to change the builds
    It’d be great if they could just allow us to quick swap those

    Yeah the whole point is to be able to equip my characters with specific artifact sets for fun builds, saving sets is imperative and I don't get why are they being so fixatedcon doing it different. This sounds just like a better version of HSR auto equip which I hardly find useful

    Hope they see this and improve it. I don't really care about all these "automatic choosing" options, artifact stats are very situational and depend on many things so I think it will always be better to just choose manually. The only thing I want is to save a combination of artifacts that I choose as a set and be able to quickly switch between sets for example switching between clam and tenacity for kokomi. We literaly just need a "save set" button on the artifact screen to save the artifacts you have on your character as a set. I mean it could be more than that but it would be an amazing start.

    Edit: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, GOOGLE "Genshin artifact auto equip", someone pretty much described this exact system on Reddit and Hoyolab, BACK IN 2021.
    Honestly, having watched and read these discussions on this newest feature, I think to myself: Auto-equipping artifacts must've been of high demand, cause HSR had this feature at launch, and one of the issues a lot of people had with it was wishing for more control over it. Now, this does seem to be that exact solution to that problem.

    There is potential that they are building up to some sort of bigger system here.
    Now, if lets say there are no more updates to artifact handling in 4.5/4.6, then yeah, that means that what has been revealed is what they scoped out the feature to be, but for now, I am, let's say, minimally optimistic, but not doomer at all.

    I think the most infuriating thing is just how long we've been asking for this system and somehow they still messed it up. QoL in this game is super rare and honestly I get more excited for QoL or overall user experience changes than new events or characters. I just wish they took more time to actually understand what we want instead of giving us the "take it or leave it".

    I'm hoping this is just another step in their plan for artifacts, bc unfortunately- I do understand the need for a system like this. As someone else in the comments mentioned, it probably is a solution for a pain point that affects a good deal of players- just not players we necessarily hear from bc they're casual enough to not participate much in the community. And hopefully, Hoyo will implement a loadout system more geared toward veterans in future patches v.v Also more organization for the Serenitea Pot is great but a load increase would be incredible.

    there's a "check alternative" buttons that they kept clicking where you can select another artifact if you don't want your Raiden artifact to be picked
    I agree that they should allow us to save the sets though, it's annoying that we can't STILL and have to resort to other means (I either use screenshots or enka to save my different builds) to check what works best for the characters.

    What I was hoping for in terms of artefacts was to have different builds registered for each character which we could swap between with a simple command.
    For exemple I usually use thoma in a burgeon team but now that I have yoimiya I want to give him a proper shield build. So I could have 2 builds registered for thoma and I could select one of the two. And if another character uses one of the pieces I would get a notification to warn me that I'm unequiping them.
    I'm a bit disappointed, from the looks of it, it doesn't look that practical if you really want the best possible build for each character.

    For each individual artifact, could they just store the (sub-)stat data? As in there’s nothing like a UID for each artifact. If artifacts don’t have IDs unique to each piece, and can’t be retrofitted, then what we got would be the best they can do.

      Odds are, each artifact does have a unique ID. Also thinking as a programmer, it seems very unlikely that a character doesn't have some way of knowing what is in each slot, and that way is something that can be saved, so not just a pointer to memory. And, sure, each artifact could store which character has it instead, and then on load, they could run through all the artifacts and build a linked list to each character, but that just seems like amateur hour, no?

    Imagine if they save the artifact equipped in team loadout, so when you change team the artifact change also, i.e when you team 1 has hyperbloom raiden and team 2 has carry raiden, when you select the team, the artifact and weapon auto change too for all 4 characters.

    why make loadout with stat priority you can use an online calculator for that, what i want is a loadout system that lets me pick the exact 1~5 artifacts i want and save them together that way i can give them to anyone and if someone happens to have one or more of them equipped give a warning and options for what to do next while showing what artifacts are used.
    if what they showed ends up being what goes live i doute a lot of people will use it

    Man what are they doing? The auto lock was useless for us players looking to lock good crit substats which it won't sort it properly. And now they add auto equip feature for what? Dam only catering for new players n no feature for making load out sets for use, towards players with tones of artifacts sets to be able to change on the go for their fav chars isn't available?     To be honest I dont think Im gonna use either system? What I would have liked is to be able to switch between more sets for one character. Like saving a DPS or Support Set and switch between it without having to rifle through each slot

    They already have load out in TCG so they know what load out is. Those who think hoyo doesn't understand what their players want, they absolutely understand what players want. They just don't want to give it. Most people spend their resin in artefact domain. If hoyo would introduce load out then players would just swap artefacts. They know what loadouts are, they just don't want to implement it

    If the loadout system was actually a loadout system I'd probably make use of 15 teams, but with how it is I have no need for 15. But it'd be great to have (for example) Team 1 be Rational and Team 2 be some hyperbloom team, with EM Raiden. And have Raiden with a unique loadout w/artifacts and Dragons Bane. It'd make it so much more convenient. But as is, I barely use 8 team slots

    Is it too much to ask to be able to add artifacts as a set and then there’s an option when you’re going to equip artifacts that says “view saved sets for this character” and you can switch between the sets you’ve saved for each character. That way you can switch artifact sets easily, share them between characters quickly, and if two characters use completely different sets but they are the same artifact set, you can choose which sets show for each character so that you aren’t confused and can easily know what you’re swapping to.

    So instead of saving our sets we get to do the same thing we were doing but with more menu's? well, seems like the artifact "loadout" system will be unused by me. Too bad though. They have a great loadout system in their other games. It's like they didn't want to do the same thing but in trying to make something different they instead just added more steps. I'm excited about more team loadouts but 15 might not eve be enough for me, I really like to experiment with different team comps.

    a loadout that you can't save exactly as-is and equip it when and where you want really isn't a loadout _at all._ it's almost like they only thought of the two extremes when thinking of the system as it currently is. the beginners who just want it done without thinking about it and won't be swapping teams very much, and the kinds of veterans who have enough good artifacts of every set that pieces won't ever overlap between characters. if you're in-between, this version of the system may not be convenient enough to stop doing it manually. for me, this will be great when I get a new character and wanna start messing around with them immediately, but not much beyond that. specifically in terms of the equipped/unequipped feature, there are some characters I don't mind taking artifacts from and others that I do.

    I have over 30 fully built characters and I never wanted or understood the importance of artefact presets(loadouts).
    When I build a character they will have that artefacts for a very long time and the about top 15 will never get their stuff swapped around.

      Because sometimes there are characters with multiple good builds. IE Hypercarry Raiden is built differently from Hyperbloom Raiden. Hyperbloom wants full EM, Hypercarry wants Crit, ER and ATK. Swapping between builds is annoying.
      And secondly, when you have a ton of characters but not enough artifacts for all of them, sometimes they end up sharing artifacts. For instance, if you have only one good Marechaussee Hunter set, but multiple characters who want to use it, you might have to swap them around when you want to change which party you're running. Not everyone has enough good luck with their artifact rolls to have dedicated sets for every character.

      a character may have 2 builds depending on the role a player assigns to that character.
      For example, Thoma. He can either be a shield bot in a Wanderer team, or a Burgeon trigger in an Alhaitham team.
      Shield bot Thoma wants HP Sands, HP Goblet, HP Circlet. 2pc Tenacity, 2pc Voroukasha set. Favonius Lance weapon.
      Burgeon Thoma wants EM Sands, EM Goblet, EM Circlet. 4pc Paradise Lost set. Dragon’s Bane weapon.
      Switching artifact pieces one by one when you want to play Thoma with a certain role is tedious. I have to rifle through so many artifact pieces all the time whenever i wanna switch sets for Thoma.
      I just want to be able to save a Preset Shield bot Thoma, and with one click I wanna be able to switch to my saved Preset Burgeon Thoma, and vice versa.
      That is what the community wants. Not a glorified convoluted artifact sorting system. The team preset loadout already exists. They have the programming/coding already available. They just need to implement something similar to savable artifact preset loadouts that players set themselves.

    This feels like the Frankenstein result of a terrible brainstorm session composed of people that barely play the game.... it's complicated af, does nothing in the end.... it's just wasted time/resources...for something that should have been so basic with the groundwork already laid out...truly a genshin moment.

    I’m gotta say this: that was not an artifact loadout system that is an artifact auto equip, sure it takes a way a little bit of the jank but an artifact loadout system it is NOT!

    they should make it like how we make teams and can name it but for artifacts then it would be easier to quickly equip artifacts

    It's really ridiculous because Mihoyo already has a loadout system that is exactly what people are asking for in their other, older game, Honkai Impact 3rd!

    what is ths? from what i got, this is nothing like a loadout? its just a way to automaticaly put a build on, but literally nothing like a saved loadout like we asked for??

    Jup... finally we get what we asked for, yet it's not what we asked for at all. Again.
    The auto lock feature is also solid, you'd think... except it's not because it still misses some vital things. Like distinguishing feathers/flowers from the other 3 pieces. Like distinguishing between 3-sub and 4-sub artifacts. Like setting a priority of sorts.
    I'm glad they're trying to finally give some QoL (I mean, all our feedback so far has gone to star rail instead) but the loudouts option especially is so tone-deaf....
    EDIT: borderless windowed finally, ive been putting it in surveys since 1.0... >.< idk why it had to take this long, but 1 thing is clear they just dont listen. at least not to us. the surveys are 100% for show.

    I am probably one of the only people who will never touch this feature. All the characters that I use regularly(and some I don’t) have a fully loved set just for them. All my 90s and most of my 80s are like this.

    Me who keeps wanting to make silly teams and serious teams in my 10 teams list - actually thank you, genshin lolol. Bumping it up to 15 is like a fun positive quality of life thing that I wanted but didn't think we'd ever get lol
    On the artifacts thing, I've been playing since 2021, kinda, but only started getting serious now and I still don't get the artifacts totally. :( honestly this sounds like I should just keep manually tinkering with how I'm equipping them before I get real messed up.

    I will leave my final thoughts about this feature up until the patch goes live. Because as per classic Hoyoverse communication slip up their demonstration here shows everything but nothing at the same time.
    However until then, this seems like the perfect base level system for a loadout system.
    For each character you can either auto equip with the quick loadout or make your own unique set with the custom set.
    For the custom set it looks like you filter out the pieces first then choose the piece to your liking and equip it.
    This is great, as it gives the opportunity to give each character their own unique set/s. I honestly prefer this over creating custom sets separately then equipping on specific characters.
    Because while the former will take time to set up initially, it will be much more flexible in the long run. And also it is much more suitable to develop upon for the devs in the future.
    But all of this hangs on the fact that whether we CAN save at least one set. If we can't..... That's just glorified artifact equip screen.
    If we can save indeed 1 set it's great.... for a first step. One set for one character at this point of the game's life span is not enough. Especially for characters like Raiden.
    (Btw I am noticing a lot people saying this is just an auto equip feature. No... It is not, that's only the quick load out part. In the custom loadout you can clearly pick specific pieces.)
    Tldr; Looks good as a first iteration of the system IF we can save at least ONE set unique to the character. If it turns out we indeed can save only one. We need to deliver the feedback to raise that cap to 3-5 sets per character. If they increased the team preset cap again from 10-15. They can do it with this too. We just gotta provide feedback.

    Yah we need at least something like the party member kinda ui .. me choosing a set of 5 artifacts and i name them like (one shot glad) and (dps emblem) etc and i share them between my characters

    it really can't be that hard to implement a loadout system, we already have team loadouts which is exactly what we need except for artifacts, it probably took more work to create this new artifact system than it would have to just make simple loadouts. There's no way Hoyo actually thought this is what we wanted.

      That’s what i was thinking too. The team loadouts programming exists already. they just have to implement the same for artifact presets. but for some reason, they avoid it. either they’re saving this feature in future updates, or they’re just truly incompetent.

    The trickery here is that this is a "fast equip" system and not a "loadout" system.
    But they used the word "loadout" on purpose anyway probably for marketing reasons, not understanding that people hate it when they are being lied to.

    They simply just kind of copied the "Genshin Optimizer" that exists and just called it loadouts. What we actually want are presets.

    I dont think they deliberately hid something, rather they have the base called "loadouts" and after seeing that this part is working as intended, they will broaden it by adding save slots, but not in 4.4.

    They could just give an option to only equip *unlocked* artifacts. Then you could lock your Raiden's artifacts and Kaeya only takes from the unlocked pool.

    I bet it would the same situation as the encounter points the die hardcore players don't really use it while casual players will be so happy, and they would have happy life and encourage them to do something they didn't do it in the past :)
