I'm 66 and I've heard him speak all my life. Charles was an absolute pioneer of looking after the planet and saving our wildlife, not only in the UK but the whole world. He has raised millions to do it. He's quietly humble and has achieved much. The opposite of Harry and Meghan unfortunately. He's actually a really good man, way ahead of his time and he's been deeply hurt by Markle for no good reason. Contrary to what she and Oprah would have people believe, he had a marvelous relationship with Harry before it was poisoned 😊🇬🇧🇳🇿

lost my mom when i was 8, hurts like a knife to the head. the wound heals, but the scar dose not.
I still grieve my mom. I'm 52 and lost her 6 years ago. This, just this has broken me. She was a mom, a grandma, a great grandma. And she wore it well despite how many may have thought her less than those things I mentioned. I can't imagine how much sorrow that family holds now.... I'm Canadian living in the USA but... Long live the king
But he's so lucky to have his mother up until in his 70s, not many people are blessed with that
I lost my dad in 1989 and my mom in 1994..I'm 39 years old and still think of them everyday 💔 what pisses me off is people who do have their parents and treat them like crap for no real reason..for anyone reading this that has parents give them a call tell them you love them, show them you love them.. just appreciate every moment with them..the loss of a parent at any age is heart breaking

With today's modern mothers that have tattoos all over their bodies including their behinds, rings everywhere, cursing like sailors and caring only about their careers while kids grow up in day-care centers with strangers, I don't think future adults will miss their mothers when they die

@Lynn The Magnificent I can tell you from first-hand experience that losing my Mother was one of the saddest days of my life. She was only 54 when we lost her to cancer. I miss her dearly
I’m not even British, but the queen passing has hit me differently then I thought. She was a constant presence for so long and now she’s gone, her son the king now have a great speach and I felt he was holding back tears at the end, I look forward to another long and great new chapter as for the first time in my 34 years on earth the United Kingdom has a king.
I'm in Canada and it hit hard for us. Things will be changing too. Might have a statutory holiday and our paper money that has her photo on them, will change to his photo.

A truly touching speech....it has been so heart-warming to see that here, deep in Australia, I was surrounded by mourning and sorrow at the Queen's passing.
A life well-lived, and in service to all...now a new era, I wish the King all the strength as he navigates this sadness and takes the throne in turbulent times.

As an American I have always admired Charles' interest in organic farming & his concern with climate issues. I hope he will not be forced to step away from these issues as so many of us, world wide, feel that if we do not deal with our health as a species we will not be able to exist as a species much longer. Being King of England should give him a huge "bully Pulpit". Being a Ruler is
not about extravagant celebrations. It is about taking care of those who are unable to care for themselves due to poverty or disability. I wish you success and joy in your new endeavor for which you have prepared for your entire life.

Saw it live and all I thought was - what a class/refined speech. I come from a place that wouldn't support a monarch but both Charles (now King) and Elizabeth ooze(d) class (even after hard times in the 90's. William and Kate have that same admirable class as does Harry to some degree but that Meghan lady is some piece of work. She will never have my admiration.

I have often shared my opinion that the greatest orators who used the English language were President Abraham Lincoln, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Sir Winston Churchill. No matter what he may do in future as King, this speech was (IMO) absolutely pitch PERFECT.

Queen Elizabeth hold a longest rein in history of UK. However based on Charles III age, his rein won't be as long as Elizabeth II. She started at age 26 and charles started at age 74. And since Elizabeth coronation set 1 year after start of rein, we can expect Charles coronation year 2023 or 2024.
