17 for 17! Jason, I love to see your smiling face on these videos. It really helps to be listening to ground to catch what a nearby airplane may have received for an instruction/clearance. Excellent readback and note taking on the iPad. Outstanding, Mr. Schappert!

That controller gave the instructions in a very clear and calm way. Even I could pick them up! Now using Live ATC listening to eg KJFK, that is a whole other ball game! :D

It's one thing to capture a complex taxi departure clearance. A bit harder to capture the same after landing. I find for departure you can also listen to the other clearances to know what to expext. You don't have that after landing. 😊

17 foooor 17! Sometimes they rip through the taxi instructions and I'm like, whoa....I can write that fast. Or give them during landing roll...like, yo, I'm a bit busy. Thanks Jason!!!

17 for 17, I don't fly out of controlled airports very often so this video was great for me. I copied down taxi instructions on Ipad and folowed it on foreflight airport diagram several times before getting it right. It was great to replay the video at the computer to learn to copy instructions.

17/17. During a biannual recently an aircraft was disabled on a critical runway taxi intersection. So the taxi instruction was like. Taxi alpha at alpha 4 cross runway 17right, foxtrot to bravo. Hold short holding point bravo runway 31 right. Managed to avoid the delays just. Every aircraft after me got told expect extensive delay. Only way it worked was to have my pen and drew as he spoke on the airport diagram. I’m still old school and use knee board with paper.

17 for 17. I have had some complex taxi instructions in the past. I always write my taxi instructions down, even at my home airport. I have asked for a progressive taxi a few times in the past at an airport that had a lot of runway crossings and many hot spots. The controllers were really awesome on the progressive taxi.

If I'm unsure on the instructions and I don't know the airport, I ask for progressive taxi. I used to think that it was probably annoying to the controllers, so one day when I was in the tower I asked them and they said they don't mind at all. :)

Using FF certainly makes this easier. I use the color green for my cleared "pathway" and red for everything that is not cleared such as "hold short" areas but also, as in this case, areas that I don't want to end up going by mistake. So, I just put a red dot in this case at the intersection of "C" taxiway and RWY 5/23 and one at the end of my taxi at D1 and RWY 5
