Atalanta wasted many years of Vick. They didn't teach him to throw first and run second. If they taught him that early dude would have been a huge problem.
I personally maintain that Vick has the strongest arm I've ever seen in pro football. Dude could throw it 70 yards in the air without even stepping into the throw.
Then I just called various CB blitzes and shut down people left and right. (Not every down, just often enough and the right situations to stuff scrambling and pressure user controlled Vick into sacks and picks)
That squad was nuts. Luckily the 49ers and Seahawks had defenses that could match up. Niners for those liked to run(Navarro Bowman and Justin Smith were wrecking balls in the defense) and the Seahawks for those who were more pass happy(solid pressure and a god tier secondary at the time). The Broncos had a pretty good front 7 for stopping the run as well.
I remember this game. Both teams made the playoffs that year. As an Eagles game this game was painfully symbolic of most of Vick’s tenure here. The offense puts up an unbelievable effort, only for it to wind up futile in the end because of the defense
Man the Vick/Jackson/McCoy era really was when I fully came into my Eagles fandom. Even though they didn't exactly accomplish too much in that era there'll always be fond memories!
I think they should have kept Brissett as starter. He did decent but they fell apart at the final half of the season. Of course I don’t live in Indianapolis so I wasn’t able to watch all the Colts games, but in the games I saw he did okay.
Rivers can still throw pretty well, will be interesting to see how he does with an offensive line and doesn't have to have the fastest release in the league
Rivers use to do everything possible in the playoffs but there was always struggles from the rest. Since he is the QB, he has always taken the blame. Same old story.

There was one season when the Chargers had the #1 offense and #1 defense and missed the playoffs. Because they also had the WORST special teams unit in the league at the time.
Desean Jackson could’ve legit had 350 yards and 4 TDs. One bomb he caught in stride out of bounds, one bomb he dropped off his fingertips, and he had the first TD get called back. He was a beast in his prime
Phil is a beast. I've watched his whole career, and when he has a decent o-line he is capable of making all the throws and plays. He will finally have a home field advantage and a decent D in the Colts and their top tier offensive line. People say he can't throw and is in decline, we will see whats what when the season begins. I remembered the 05 meeting between them two in philly. Game was also a classic and nuts! There was a fire alarm that delayed the game, went down to a field goal. It was NFL network game of the week, good times!
colts, as a former san diego charger fan (and now a colts fan because they have Phil) you are getting a hell of a guy and a competitor. he will do everything in his power to take them all the way
They couldn't cover DJax at all. There were 5 big plays in here and 4 didn't happen either do to rookie Lane Johnson giving up pressure or commiting a penalty or Desean not getting his feet in. Jack went crazy that year.
Chip Kelly really destroyed a dream team. A team that talented will possibly never come together again. Glad he’s out of the NFL. Wish him success though
Brandon zahal it was the best Vick of all time. He was the best version of himself. Falcons Vick only had a scramble and that’s why they never did anything
Kevin Arzola nick foles in chip kellys offense that year was 10x better than vick but everyone is so hung up on vick. Vick was good for 8 games in his first season with the eagles that was it.
