Heyy, Mattip! This is such a great remix, and I definitely was not expecting a track from F-Zero - it's a welcome surprise, for sure! Big Blue in particular is probably my favorite piece from the franchise, and you did an excellent job with the theme. :D
The percussive elements in particular really stand out to me here. Right when those drums hit at 0:16 (with that nice riser lead-in), I could feel the energy and groove right away. And I really like how additional parts get layered in, leading up to the big drop at 0:33. And wow, what variety in terms of style - it starts out with a really cool Dance/EDM beat, and then goes into kind of a Synthwave feel, complete with the big, sustained snares and pitched tom fills. The frequent shift in percussive style makes the piece feel varied and dynamic, and it's complemented well by the variety of bright and high-energy leads. Great instrumentation all-around!
And man, I _love_ how you created frequent interactions between the audio and video elements! Starting the remix with the race start sequence, then going right into your remix made for a cool intro, and it makes the race footage feel like a crucial part of the song from the get-go! During that crash sequence, it's super cool how you made the video wobble a bit with the TV screen effect, and you brought the instrumentation down to a minimum, as well - it's a super creative way of bringing the energy down before ramping it back up again with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe footage. Your love for racing games really comes through in the way you tied the gameplay from both titles together. And wow, that FINISH! voice clip was perfectly synced with the race coming to an end - that really made me smile! You even had the racer resemble Captain Falcon for an added touch of Big Blue goodness!
Keep up the excellent work with these interactive remix videos, my friend - they're a lot of fun to watch and listen to! 🌟
