My brother, uncle, and I (we’re all around the same age) used to play this game on my uncle’s GameCube all the time. We had soooo much fun. I’ll never get those years back, but it made great memories.
F-Zero X had to be one of my favorite racers growing up. Yeah Mario Kart 64 was fun but playing as a race car that looked like a space ship was awesome. Plus that Metal version of Mute City is still cool.
F-Zero GX is easily one of the best games I've ever played. Unfortunately I've only had the chance to emulate it but that also allowed to play in 1080p and to be honest the textures are sufficiently detailed so it looks pretty good.
F-Zero X on N64 had one of the best Game Soundtracks ever. One of my favourites is the "Crazy day at call" tune used for the Port Town - High Jump course. And I am amazed, how well the 20 year old Game Cube graphics of GX still hold up today!

I tried to emulate the Green Amazone ship in Simpleplanes and the model works quite well, and looks like it has some flying and watercrusing habilities too (It's a simple model but it's almost fully functional, also the canopy rotates like in the f-zero 2 game when cornering, but the Engine doesn't do it yet)
F-Zero X was the best game of the series. Gameplay wise it was inferior to F-Zero GX (which was another one of my favorites), but the music - oh THE MUSIC!
Wipeout and its clones have a very different approach in terms of gameplay than F zero. These games feel floaty. You need to "fly" smoothly and carry speed through corners. F zero doesn't feel floaty at all, your vehicle feels planted, it has "grip" even though there are no wheels. It's very similar to an arcady F1 game or something similar.
I've played F-Zero AX at an arcade before, and I was excited to see it because I had never played F-Zero before. God DAMN was it fast! It was so fast I couldn't even play it properly, since I was used to the lower speeds of Mario Kart and NFS Nitro. I'd love to get GX, though, so I'd be able to fully experience it and get good at it.
That is why. Every f zero game dropped in sales. Fzero had the highest sales. Fzero x dropped in sales. Fzero GX dropped in sales to. Looking at this not from how many people like it but from how much people bought it would probably make me think people don't like the game. They also stopped because fzero GX (from Nintendo's point of view) was the absolute peak of the franchise and is impossible to come up with new ideas
I know that this is 2 years old, but it showed up in my feed all of the sudden and it immediately piqued my interest. Dang... I sure did miss out on something wonderful and exciting. Let's hope that the axe can be taken out of the Blue Falcon's (that's what the Captain's vehicle is called, right?) engine and that it can be repaired by some, master mechanic... *cough* Retro Studios *cough* *hack* - Anyway, great video, thanks for awesome stuff as always.
Mario 64 and Goldeneye were games I enjoyed as a kid, but F zero X was an experience man.... Me and my siblings BATTLED on this game and this tune is top 3 fav video game tunes all time
Fzero gx is the best racing game, I’ve never had a game push me far and make me go crazy like Fzero. The racing games today feel slow to me, unlike playing Fzero your actually racing.

PSP:Wipeout Pulse
Wipeout and its clones have a very different approach in terms of gameplay than F zero. These games feel floaty. You need to "fly" smoothly and carry speed through corners. F zero doesn't feel floaty at all, your vehicle feels planted, it has "grip" even though there are no wheels. It's very similar to an arcady F1 game or something similar.
F zero really defines the futuristics of old technology in its time
Awesome! Could you make an Evolution of Big Blue video?
I've played F-Zero AX at an arcade before, and I was excited to see it because I had never played F-Zero before. God DAMN was it fast! It was so fast I couldn't even play it properly, since I was used to the lower speeds of Mario Kart and NFS Nitro. I'd love to get GX, though, so I'd be able to fully experience it and get good at it.
TheREALwymario The first time I played the GameCube Mario Kart was after playing a lot of F-Zero GX.... it felt so SLOW and unsatisfactory lol
R.I.P F-zero ;-;
nooooooooo stoooop
Up
f-mega
@@garlicbread856 yes finally I found another Jojo watcher
GX's graphics, Xs sound effects, the original's music framing with GX's overall theme and the harder percussion beats of X. That's a perfect mixture.
>F-zero has been reduced to just being a couple mario kart dlc maps

I have been hoping for more than 20 years now, that they make an F-Zero movie. That would be cool!
"4 laps to go!"
That's what she said.
I'm glad you included Mario Kart 8.
Why the hell did GX sold so badly ? Probably why Nintendo put a brake on the franchise. Hope it will make a comeback for Switch tho.
It's hard to sell a game for a console not many people own.
GameDjeenie also it was never advertised
They did their darnest too, they had a tv show and everything. The only thing i didnt see was a comercial, well that often
Switch:Fast MHX
That is why. Every f zero game dropped in sales. Fzero had the highest sales. Fzero x dropped in sales. Fzero GX dropped in sales to. Looking at this not from how many people like it but from how much people bought it would probably make me think people don't like the game. They also stopped because fzero GX (from Nintendo's point of view) was the absolute peak of the franchise and is impossible to come up with new ideas
And here I came in thinking you guys were going to forget about GP Legend.
The Mii's voice is so freaking annoying...
What the fuck is that bobble head creature yeah I'll take 1990 F-Zero, thanks.
Mords 1 that is a mii outfit not the actual captain falcon
it is a mii
Seeing that side by side at the end makes me sad. Hard rock and high speed evolved into...chibi Captain Falcon in Mario Kart 😓
For F-zero gp legend, don't tell me that starting sound isn't a Pokeball
Mario 64 and Goldeneye were games I enjoyed as a kid, but F zero X was an experience man.... Me and my siblings BATTLED on this game and this tune is top 3 fav video game tunes all time
Fzero gx is the best racing game, I’ve never had a game push me far and make me go crazy like Fzero. The racing games today feel slow to me, unlike playing Fzero your actually racing.
I wanted to hear this kind of arrangement.
excellent!!!
Evolution of Bowser's Castle Roads in Mario Kart !
Yeah
Yes!
OH HELL YES!
Mute City - Serial Gaps From GX is still my favorite Mute City track ever.
This game from 1990 bring me so much memories :/
Even though F Zero is forgotten, I just hope Nintendo can bring it back with one Phoenix Punch so that the hype for racing games can finally rise again.
Switch:Fast MHX
Android:Cosmic Challenge
PSP:Wipeout Pulse
I like how the Mario Kart 8 DLC track was included
even after all these years I cant unsee the "Dad's home!" video from newgrounds.
I have GP Legend for my Game Boy advanced, ahhh, I love it
Skodatari Games me too buddy, it was the bomb(in a good way)
