My biggest criticism with this show is that each episode isn’t an hour, with 30 minutes you get no time to really explore anything and really flesh out those ideas, it’s just always here’s the decent concept-race to the finish line.

Well, Zombie Strange's corpse was left in New York, so he probably showed up there instead of going to Titan, and got jumped by the entire New York Zombie population. I thought the Dr Strange episode was spookier/darker, this episode balanced off most things with some jokes (e.g. this is the end of the line), with the only scary, and disturbing thing, was T'challa being used as livestock which was taken from the comics sure, but considering Vision isn't a zombie while doing it, it made it scarier. I definitely enjoyed the episode though, it was a fun ragtag team and had a lot of fun moments.
To me, this episode is really rushed, and rushing in a supposedly "horror" genre is a bit mismatch. Also, why are there too many jokes? It feels like every 2 seconds, a new joke emerged, even when it was a scene when a close friend just died. It's just weird. Spider-Man looks too relaxed, even tho in the movie, he was literally crying whenever something bad happened. Scott Lang is just a comic relief. Bucky is just heartless, he didn't show any emotions upon witnessing his "friends" got chopped down in two. I know at that point his friends were already gone, but come on. The previous episode is better when it comes to horror, even tho it might not be intended to be one.
there’s a couple things in this episode that I thought “meh I don’t know if that’s actually how it would happen.” but i still enjoyed the episode
These heroes were strangely upbeat and quippy for living in a zombie apocalypse lmao

Shock
For people who were actively looking for a cure for their friends they didn't seem to have much hesitancy at all about killing said friends
Well, it's like Spider-Man said on the train, "I've lost a lot. But my Aunt May says... well, used to say... that if we don't keep smiling when they can't, then we might as well just be gone too."
Just decapitated my best friend time for a joke
I laughed so hard when I saw that it was called What If Zombies, after each one told you exactly what was going to happen.
The thing that bothered me this episode is how Tony got infected in the first encounter. Like, how? He's literally clad in hich tech armor. Would be nice of them to show a quick shot of Hank shrinking and going through the cracks but this version of zombies doesn't seem to have that kind of mental capacity.
My brother said the same thing. My reply....We know Cap gets infected right away, so he turns pretty quickly, and we also know Cap can bust his way through Tony's armor. Aside from Hank going small, I can't think of any other way. Also, yes, I do think they have the brains (ha ha) for that. The first zombie thing we see, is Dr. Strange and Tony, doing a team attack. Portal blast. If they can do that, they can plan other stuff out.
I love the random character meetings. Told me a year ago next year I’d get to see Spider Man, Happy, and Kurt film a zombie apocalypse survival video I’d call you insane
Right? That was my absolute favorite thing about this episode. Having characters that haven't even met, interacted or teamed up in the MCU doing so in this episode. That was just awesome to watch.
Yeah, the unexpected random team-up is one of the great joys of Marvel comics, and now that the MCU has over a decade of characters built up it’s something they’re able to do as well
Where is Kurt from? I was having such a hard time trying to remember what movie this guy was from

The cape was the real MVP this episode
That sort of 'tone deafness' of comedy not meshing well with serious scenes was exactly the same complaint I had. Though couldn't it be argued those 'quips' and 'jokes' occur in comics already, we're just used to them?
I think it depends on not only the character, but the writer of the book. For instance, Deadpool in Uncanny X-Force, though still mildly humorous, express real disdain and conflict over what they did to Kid Apocalypse and Logan wasn't exactly cracking jokes after he drowned his son Daken. Another example is Cap's conflict over what to do about Winter Soldier in Brubaker's run that inspired the movie. The DnA run of GOTG, the cosmic books in general really, had dark humor throughout the run, but always handled the killing of enemies and death of comrades quite appropriately. Tony's alcoholism and the consequences of it weren't treated as a laughing matter. The Scarlet Witch's madness was handled without comedy. Captain Marvel's death was a pretty somber affair. The death of Gwen Stacy wasn't treated as a joke. When Blink, Illyana, Nightcrawler, or Jean Grey/Phoenix (Initially) died in X-Men, it was most certainly not immediately followed up with a quip.
Just saying, not all comics treat death so glibly. This seems to be a newer thing over the last decade. For me, it's a fourth wall break that I don't really appreciate.
Of course they don't make good horror - but - still a cool series.

A bit too short for me, I'd love to see continuations for this and the Chris Pratt teaser in a series 2 if that becomes a thing, maybe we see a few episodes become mini ongoing series
Other than Supreme Dr Strange, I feel every episode thus far feels like COULD be followed up if they wanted to
what if either zombie thanos travels to the t'chala star lord timeline or ego travels to the zombie timeline and both their cliffhangers get solved in a single episode
This show is making the characters we know feel more like comic book characters. Having their own storylines and then meeting in offshoot stories like this one where we get to see interactions we haven’t seen before. We got a taste in the crossovers like endgame but this is awesome to see.
I really appreciate edits like SEVEN and Let me tell you, James. Always great work on these, Collings.
Big love Otadoe < 3
I hope all these dark endings are going to be used as examples for why Kang set up the "sacred timeline"
the sacred timeline is just any timelines that don't lead to the creation of kang. he doesn't care about these ones.
My theory: The ninth and final episode won't be a "what if..." its going to be about The Watcher. I'd guess it starts with a quick senario that he is showing us, and he interferes with it to help some people out, and then we get to see that THOSE ramifications are.
"What if The Watcher..."
Bucky got yeeted to the shadow realm, Jesus, out of all of the ways to die that has to be the most abrupt one.
How did he die again? Scarlett tossed him into zombies?
To be fair, he doesn't explicitly land in the horde, and he's survived larger falls.
I think it's really just the cast of characters they chose to be the survivors. Just about all of them are jokesters. Happy is comedic relief in the Iron Man and Spider-Man movies, Kurt is comedic relief and from a comedy series of movies, Scott and Peter are already designed to be funnier characters, then you have Hope and Okoye which are the straigtmen of their movies and that's a form of comedy, and Bruce became more of a jokey character with Ragnarok and Infinity War, which then leaves Bucky and Sharon. More than half your crew are funny people, whether they're trying or not. At the same time though, when the episode does go dark, it gets pretty dark, so the levity is not unwanted. After rewatching the episode, it got a lot better than upon first watch, so I think it definitely works as an episode, but it's not as strong as it could be.
I just really want more content in this universe, even just another episode with the few Avengers left running from Zombie Thanos would suffice, since it would feel a lot more tense
Once Thanos get a hand of the last infinity stone, also the mind stone bear that in mind, he might wish for him and all the zombies to have (their) consciousness (be brought back). Voila, we now got Marvel zombies-esque approach.
That would be a really interesting subversion to have zombie Thanos end up winning and saving the day.
I didn’t feel like anyone was safe I think it’s the first time I really felt that with marvel. Tony was a surprise but this was any minute dead. I hope Bucky still alive
The Chandler and Monica clip was the perfect visual for what they were saying 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic editing as always Rob Collins - the jar visual gag was great 👌🏻
Everything we’ve had on Uncle Ben so far in the MCU has been, “when you can do the things that I can and you don’t, “everything she’s been through” and the suitcase
Big twist, Uncle Ben didn't die, he was just a dickhead and left them
Zombie Scarlet Witch is spooky
Marvel zombies 1 reintroduced me to comic books as an adult. The series as a whole is such an amazing read.
09:57 Black Panther's speech reminds me of Robin William's speech at the end of Night at the Smithsonian 3; like they both knew what was coming
Outside of this timeline having zombies, this is probably the only timeline where Grand Central station has trains that go to NJ. (Trains in Grand Central station either stay in Manhattan, go to the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, or go further north into NY state or Connecticut.)
Episode was fine. Waaaaaay too quippy for me. The dialogue felt like 75% humor so I couldn’t take the scenes that were dramatic or supposed to be scary seriously. I think the doctor strange episode was a better balance, probably my favorite of episodes this far.
The humor and tone worked for me. My favorite episode so far.
Ben your editing skills are unmatched. I see all the subtle stuff you do and I am constantly impressed every video. Appreciate you
I feel a lot of people give Hope a ton of flack for turning into a zombie in giant form, but also, the zombies seem to keep the knowledge and ability of there tech, magic, skills, etc. So, Zombie Hope likely could’ve just turned giant even if she did turn little before dying
Yup, but everyone loves to complain about small issues that they don’t think through because they’re so caught up with their anger.
Also, I believe there’ll be another Zombies episode
Honestly the first thing that came to my mind was that scene of a tiny Hank biting Steve, figures the end twist was gonna be a tiny Hope on the Quinjet
Well, what I thought is that she should have left her costume behind, I mean, without it she's just a normal woman that knows kung-fu
@@feliperodriguezmunoz8155 if the Avengers retain their knowledge to use their powerset/abilities then it’s not out of the question if Zombie Hope did the same moves
@@thelastsith2706 yes, I know, that's why I said she shouldn't have kept her costume after getting bitten. I mean if she became small she could have killed everyone just like ant man bit captain in the flashback. They could have used Dr strange cape to fly everyone, one at a time, without that sacrifice and leave the suit to anyone else instead of losing it.
I know is just an episode of 30 minutes and those holes in the script are needed to make impressive scenes and to move the plot, but for me it was kind of silly.
Can we talk about how Spider-Man looks literally nothing like Tom Holland
He was so tall and buff!
I read somewhere that the characters whose actors couldn't return had to be changed a little bit due to copyright's image, like with Black Widow, so perhaps the same happened to Peter
I love the editing the Friends 7 scene in the video. So funny!!!
Oooooo that edit and sync up to Monica saying Seven was 👌
My ideal zombies plot would start in Civil War, with the catalyst being that henchman dropping the chemical, except in this universe it wasn’t caught
there were far too many jokes for how grim the situation was
Good timing on the video editing!
I especially liked the part where Not Tom Holland had to fight a zombified Corn of Coblin, great use of the extended Spider-Man rouges gallery
Just glad they finally mentioned uncle Ben
My favorite part of the episode was when John Krasinski teamed up with Mephisto to defeat the zombified Corn Of Coblin. Brought a tear to my eye.
I love your editing skills and timing 😃
Another banger vid Collins! Thanks!
Youuuuu absolute top bloke doing it again - top weekend to you KO < 3
Let Okoye take the lead, she's got tons of experience with killing zombies!
I like how they made a team of some of the funniest marvel characters lol I loved the quips tbh
And Sharon Carter.
honestly i hate them for joking every damn minute, how am i supposed to be scared, the joke even so dry that i have to drink multiple times
Top notch edit, RAW and outsourced crew!!!
The whole huge team will appreciate it mate, thank you!!
Thank you for featuring my drawing at 11:45 :)
