T'challa's words on death never being the end was especially sad.... though uplifting, as Chadwick Boseman's death is still felt largely by his fans. he's truly missed...

For all we know, DC is just one possible timeline in the MCMultiverse! I think that was suggested at some point in the comics (both Marvel and DC), but I'm not familiar with them so take that with a grain of salt.
T'Challa's "Death is just a stepping off point" quote holds so much more weight with Chadwick's passing. I get little chills whenever he says it. Definitely going to miss not having him in the MCU (and on this planet)... WAKANDA FOREVER!

15:02. I see it like this: Thanos went to get the Time Stone, but was infected maybe before or after he got it. Once he got it, he could use the soul stone to find the nearest humans on the planet, and the largest density of them would be in Wakanda, since it was the last sanctuary.
04:50 - Hope says she's "All that's left." Meaning HOPE is all that's left in the world.
17:34 - The sun sets on Hope. Meaning all HOPE is lost, and this is the end of this world.
Bucky was having PTSD moments this entire time. When he said “I should be sad,but I’m not” is because he’s USED to seeing people he cares for die. Notice that he doesn’t hesitate to kill anyone,even cap. It’s because he’s on red alert from his time in the war.

MISSED DETAIL: Peter’s instructional video was headed with a puppeted zombie going “grr... argh” across the screen, a nod to Joss Whedon’s production company, Mutant Enemy.
I noticed the same thing when I first watched it! I’m surprised that wasn’t mentioned in the video
I had to pause that for a minute because I was like "Really?"
this episode truly had it all. Was one of the funnier episodes to far, had drama, emotion, twists, good action, hulk fighting wanda, what more could we ask for.
only thing missing was a plot that works

I guess that What If loves to pin the demise of the Avengers on Hank Pym. Esp. 3 because he's seeking revenge from Hope's death and Esp.5 as he tries to bring his wife back from the quantum realm.
Pyms pribably the person who zombiefied thanos knowing hos skin is oretty tough
Considering Hank Pym is the literal worst in the comics, this seems like a fun way to honor that in the mcu
I think we need to keep an eye on him from now on.
Hank is unstable in the Marvel Comics. He created Ultron, not Tony and Bruce. He has been off and on an absolute hot mess over the years. “What If…” is just scratching the surface of his deviant nature.

The black panther twist was from the comic and it's so dark compared to the rest of the episode you can tell. Peter in that story legit brought tears to my eyes this was pathetic

In _Antman and The Wasp_ when they're running through the school and Scott's regulator is malfunctioning there's a scene where they're in a custodial closet, Scott enlarges, hits his head on the ceiling, *and his helmet comes off.* He stays like that for a good 15 seconds while Hope fixes his suit and they do a little Marvel "haha funny" gag. It's at timestamp 37:50 in the movie, if anyone's interested.

@@GeEmTeVe They weren’t amazing. They were just average. What If is fire, it reflects the creativity and thought that went into it also the fact that they aren’t limited by budget and CGI like the live actions are.
For what it is I think it’s great but I feel like it could’ve been so much better if they weren’t half length episodes. Some things that should be more impactful just aren’t. Theres only so much you can focus on in half an hour and then sometimes the depth for certain plot twists or things I thought could’ve got us a lot more invested
@@russiankodiak6849 None of the shows were perfect, but they were still pretty good imo, way better than half the MCU movies out there. I personally loved the shows, they had a lot of great moments, but of course everyone has different opinions.
I really hope Peter & Hope interact more in the Sacred Timeline. Hope’s motherly relationship towards Peter was heart-warming……& eventually heart-breaking.

@@xavierbell1996 When i think about it, perhaps Strange saved him by a portal to inform Tony of what's happening simillar to how it went down in the beginning of Infinity War. But maybe something happened where Strange or Wong got infected. When tony takes off his mask to talk with them he gets bit. Why FRIDAY doesn't deactivate the suit I don't know.

You get so caught up in your own theories that you create potholes in the story based on them.
Thanos is at Wakanda looking for survivors to eat. He's a zombie and Wakanda is the last stronghold of survivors.
T’challa’s speech about death in this episode just hits different given the IRL circumstances and I will admit I cried

on one hand, thanos should be invincible with that many stones against anyone but the avengers. but thanos is still on his "home" planet.
if not, theyre saying zombie thanos collected the infinity stones which, kinda doesnt make sense.

It would have actually been interesting to see him come down to Earth and then meet his end at the hands of thousands of zombies. Then the last scene is an abandoned infinity gauntlet lying on the ground. Zombies walk past it unfazed as the camera slowly pans out.

You know, this episode of What If was the first time I actively went to watch something with zombies and wanted to be scared by. Did not disappoint.

Paul Rudd was the best thing of this episode he killed it. A really good episode but giving his character being a talking head he definitely killed it.

Well thanos was able to smack his armor off, forcing him to use the nanobots from other areas of the suit. I guess like 100 zombies would eventually wear down his armor

I’m not sure if they would make us wait such a long time for the 2nd part of this episode, but maybe they’ll do it next season after more characters have been introduced (because they have to be introduced in the live action MCU first, and then get a What If episode) so that they can have more characters involved in this story
I believe that because every episode is a different reality, after the end of season 1, I think they will continue on from their respective timelines for upcoming seasons, and never interfere with each other a lot until something occurs in a future film/project, where they're all in the main MCU timeline. At least I would think because every episode ends with a cliffhanger, and it would make sense if they release the second season for it after, rather than disrupting the flow.
Newer characters are being introduced 5 years in the future though. Most of these stories are pre-endgame.
I loved everything about this episode the only thing I wish is that It took a darker approach. It felt too lighthearted and filled with jokes, even in the face of danger everyone just felt unrealistic?

So hulk's skin is tough enough to withstand zombie bites but Thanos's... isn't?
Well it was pointed out in What If ep. 3 that Hulk can't die as it took Hank Pym to inlarge his heart to kill him since bullets never did anything. While in Infinity War, Tony was able to make Thanos bleed a little bit. Not to mention that in the first Averagers, Banner told Natasha he tried to end himself and Hulk spat the bullet back out. So yeah Hulk's skin is pretty tough 😅

@@pedrohenriquemoraessantos1164 you can argue that maybe Hulk's skin wasn't as though as it is now back in The Incredible Hulk. It is also possible that Abomination is stronger than Hulk physically since he was given a more proper version of the super soldier serum in addition to having what Hulk has from his blood. Plus, he has all those bones portruding out of him which are most certainly sharp.
Exactly, good point! That's the reason Strange couldn't just make a ring portal around Thanos in Infinity War and then close it over his arm to remove the gauntlet (or kill him). He has a thick skin similar to Hulk or Superman that should resist it.
Well there is a way that It spread to saliva. Even though it doesn't explain how his skin is very clearly broken down and bited on. Unless the "Cosmic Virus" could have somehow weaken his skin? Idk that doesn't seem convincing enough to me. That has to be the only thing that bothers me in this episode.
