I bought this adapter. I upgraded to the latest firmware on the transmitters, my receiver, and my FX30. It doesn’t work. I get 48/24 on the screen, but no audio level meters. It also doesn’t show that it is charging from the camera battery. So I sent it back and they sent me another one. It doesn’t work either. The transmitter and receiver work fine if I use the 3.5mm cable. I also have the Sony shotgun mic, and the audio handle that both plug into the hot shoe of the camera, and both of those work fine, so it’s not the camera. I also tried the adapter on my A7S3, and it doesn’t work on that either. I guess it is possible that they sent me two bad camera adapters, but I’m giving up on the camera adapters.
Some reviewers mentioned a big disadvantage of MI adapter, that Mic 2 will not auto power off. But why is this a problem, if it is powered from camera anyway?
it is powered by the camera until you swich ON the dji mic, or it will still be off. It is a feature i have on my Azden smx-30. OFF/ ON / AUTO, and the Azden use 2 AA battery, but it switch automatically to ON ONLY if it is put on ON or AUTO. With AUTO the mic switch on or off sync with the camera. They detect it via the 3.5mm output. With ON it is always on constantly.
at least you have the option, 3.5mm if you want to see the screen, or no wire if you don't need the dji screen, and can anyway show the screen of the camera with the mic gain. i think the camera screen is good enough for vlog. no need for the dji screen for simply check the levels.
