8+ years professional unity dev here~ upvote my comment if you can!
This is an inaccurate test and missleading, here is why.
You have the Play button on, and it's a 3D scene that has a directional light, post processing, etc
It's unrealistic, no one is going to have the scene playing the whole time, they have the scene playing only to quickly test a feature/bug, then it's back to Visual Studio/XCode/etc
And often the game likely wouldn't even be as intensive as, and yes I'm being serious here, would not even be as intensive as the default template scenes, and likely a mobile game or something using the URP pipeline.
What you're **REALLY** testing here, is you're just running a video game technically, except its worse because it's currently in editor mode, honestly you'd have more battery running a 3D game standalone.
If you took off play, and you were just coding or doing UI Development, the battery drain would be nowhere even remotely close in any way shape or form.
I highly encourage @Azisk to test more realistically next time! I'm a subscriber and I don't intend any hate~

Thanks for the details. I'm not only NOT a Unity dev, but I also did these tests as a request from commenters. However, I will add that since I am not an expert at Unity like you, I didn't do anything besides load a sample project. All the settings here are default. So if it does require special knowledge to be more efficient with the machine, then this is something not clear to noobs like me. Anyway, good comment, and I'll not only upvote it, I'll pin it :)

That computer would last 2-3 hours on an average battery and a max of 5 hours because the TSA doesn’t allow batteries over the size of 100 watt hours on planes which acts as a hard limit for laptop manufacturers. With how computers are improved, you can expect better efficiency with each generation, but not at a level that would enable high demand applications to run all day on our current battery tech. Especially since most of the efficiency gains made each generation are offset by a higher clock speed and overall tuning.

What do mean by “a lot smaller for Windows PCs”? Apple hasn’t used fixed-cord chargers since 2016, and you can even plug their new MagSafe 3 cables into any standard USB-C charger, including GaN ones. No one forces you to use Apple’s pack-in chargers, you can always leave that one at home and buy a GaN one to take on your laptop bag.

At this point, we have the best of both worlds on the Mac, in that even if one forgets or misplaces their charging cable or brick, there are still alternative ways to charge it, and those are also pretty useful when it comes to docking a machine to a monitor that pretty much does it all with a single cable.
Don't PC laptops support this basic use case? Are you supposed to use adapters or individual cables to plug in external screens and then also plug the machine to the wall? Don't they have at least _one_ USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port with USB-PD support?

Apple said in the keynote that the AAA games to be ported to M3 Macs will use PC and console texture files. The problem with this statement is that because of their detailed textures most PC/console AAA games are over 100 Gb in size. There is therefore only space for one AAA game in most M3 Macs. Apple really must stop putting tiny 256 Gb SSDs into M3 Macs costing more than $1400.
