Din going full on dad mode after officially adopting Grogu. Finding himself a better paying job, getting a home to live in a safe neighborhood, sitting on the front porch watching his kid play.
I loved seeing how Grogu is learning strategy. Was aware his force powers tired him and were not unlimited, so he used them sparingly until they were needed the most. He likely could have taken out the Guard early on but may not have been able to save himself Bo and Din later on. Smart baby!
Not to mention this was Grogu's first complex battle fighting against multiple enemies at the same time and also defending someone he cared about. Sometimes people forget he's still a child.
Yep. Aside from getting food (which is pretty easy for him, I guess), Grogu only uses his powers when he really needs to. It’s obviously hard and exhausting for him. I think he only ever used them in battle when Din’s life was in danger and he knew or felt Din needed them.
"The Spies" is actually a biblical reference to a group which is echoed by Bo's scouting party. In the Book of Numbers, Moses sends out twelve people - one from each of the Israelite tribes - to scout the land of Canaan to see if it could be a good place for them to settle. The scouts are called the Twelve Spies.
The Armorer bringing her forging tools to battles will forever be the coolest and most iconic thing to me. She's so cool. I also loved that shot of Bo holding the dark saber as they flew in. Legendary!
Same. Amazing seeing her aerial skills and working with Bo. Looking back at all of Filonis work over the years, my favorite characters have all ended up being the female characters. He makes them believable and endearing, and just all around bad ass. Hopefully we learn who the armorer is though at some point.
THEORY: The Armorer is Din Djarin’s adopted mother, and that’s why she looked away when she said “…just as your teacher did for you.” She was getting emotional, realizing her son was finally truly leaving the nest. And also the way she said “This is the way” when he said he would adopt Grogu. He’s doing for Grogu what The Armorer did for him.
It took me years to get in the mindset of, "just go in and enjoy" and try to not expect what I would potentially want to see. I've enjoyed this season overall.
Yep. I can't watch any Easter egg or theory stuff anymore. It just destroys the experience. Fans are expecting certain things to happen when they shouldn't be expecting anything. Just watch it!
@@mpls1982 same here. Theory channels can be fun, but they give too high of expectations leading to inevitable disappointment. Going in with just the episodes themselves and enjoying the fun on screen is far more satisfying. In the end it's Star Wars, and it's made for a family audience. We shouldn't look much deeper than that.
Something I noticed particularly a LOT in both this episode and this season, is they're taking the care to SHOW Grogu is growing, and understanding things. When Din says "You did good kid." Grogu nods right in response. And during the adoption scene, Grogu almost looks UPSET at not being able to be part of their Song. And when The Armorer acknowledges him as Din Grogu, he again nods right back. Not to mention he legit babbled "This is the Way." and I stand by that considering Din and Bo's reaction to his babble there. I really like that. Lil man is growing up.
“The spies” from episode 7 was a biblical reference to Moses’ 12 spies (one from each tribe) who were sent ahead to scout the promised land and make sure it was suitable for them. Including Bo, there were 12 Mandalorians who went down ahead to scout Mandalore
Dude… you went deep with that commentary. I have watched a video of a Jewish rabbi comparing Star Wars with biblical things. The Mandalorian do have similarities to the ancient Hebrew. A people who struggle to maintain their principles despite the everchanging circumstances
I think destroying the sword is a genius move and actually a feeing moment for Mandalorian culrure and especially Bo Katan. Now she will be the leader of the Mandalorians not because she is royalty or is holding a special "trinket" but because she earned it with her leadership skills and managed the unthinkable of uniting the tribes.
Also one less thing the future generations of Mandalorians can fight over. You just know the race of space warriors would always eventually start a war just to have the cool looking sword.
Vindication for Axe and the Armorer! This season faced the adverse reactions of over analyzing from fans. People expected way more than they should have. Sure it would have been nice to have an Ashoka or other cameo, but this was a satisfactory ending to this season. We have Mandalore back, Djarin officially accepted Grogu as his son and they have a peaceful place to go to, and Grogu showed his growth in his abilities. He used his power way more than before and didn’t pass out.
Thats what Im getting. I popped in and out every week and enjoyed each episode. The complaints I hear sounds like people trying to read too much into everything.
Satisfying? Moff Gideon appears in the end and gets "killed" shortly afterwards. "Killed" because we never see him die, just flames surrounding him. He's fully armoured up, so he could well survive that. If they can fly into space with those helmets, he can surely survive some fire with his own upgraded version. "We need to end it, stop running". Yeah right, see you next season, Giddy xx
Some people claim that the fact that Din didn't want to lead Mandalore was the reason he deserved it, but you have to understand that its not just that, leading Mandalore or taking the Darksaber just means absolutely nothing to him, he was never gonna rule Mandalore and its pretty clear with this episode. Also, nice to see he's getting back to his adventures with Grogu and the New Republic, we'll see how this Dave Filoni movie goes :)
@@jonnyhill1155 now we will see Mandalore get rebuilt. Bo will be in some awesome future episodes. They set up Mandalore becoming lush with plant life again.
God man Giancarlo just can't escape an explosion can he? You know he definitely asked for that to be the way he went out or Filoni and Favreau just pitched it to him and he maniacally laughed and said "Yes!"😅
Axe Wolves has to be an underrated character in this show, he really clutched up by taking down the Tie-Fighters by himself and then crashing the cruiser into the mines to save everyone. Not to mention he LIVED after that
Really great stuff! Axe really got some good mileage there 😂 I dug all the jetpack sequences really, Koska Reeves finally had some shining moments there too.
@@eclipped TBF, assuming mandalore is somewhat similar to earth, the distance from ground to space is not as significant as the many miles horizontally they probably flew to catch up to the beast
This finale definitely left me with a bunch of questions but I really enjoyed it overall. The mandalorian fight scene in the air was one of the most badass scenes I’ve seen in SW lol. Tons of incredible cinematography and we got Din and Grogu back which is what we all want at the end of the day!
I actually kind of love how Gideon defeated both Din and Bo in combat.... it literally took Ax crashing a cruiser into him to finish him off, showed how much of a threat he was and how much of a threat they could face in later seasons.
Hilarious irony though that he was all "You Mandalorians are worthless without your trinkets..." ...while he's literally covered in Mandalorian trinkets. Unlike the past usurper Darth Maul, who he seemed to be directly emulating with his helmet, colors, and weapon, and who had successfully claimed Mandalore _right in front of Bo-Katan herself..._ Gideon had zero actual skills to back up his massive grandstanding. All he could ever do was prop up his ego with borrowed minions and stolen artifacts he had no business using. The perfect representative of Imperial hubris.
@@SomeRUclipsTraveler your observation is better than you know because it’s then 2 Mandos, stripped of all their gadgets, who survive by defending each other while Gideon, in all his Beskar-power armored glory burns alone in the fire
@danielmorris1734 it also shows in his fight with bo katan. She lands so many kill cuts in that fight and the only thing that keeps gideon alive is his enhancements and beskar armor.
@@Nerd-Gaiden Season 1 he stops a flamethrower, season 3 he stops a massive explosion, so the throwback is a nice way to show just how much his powers have grown
throwback to rebels because everybody watched the animation and they didn't have to put any effort to make it more creative or significant to the story
I like that they allowed the show to reset hard to a serialized father-son adventure story but didn’t commit to anything. They can continue the show from here if they want (in a year, in five years, in ten years, whatever) or the show can just be over forever if they want. I don’t think they’ll end it, but they might (and just have the Dins show up in other shows and movies in the time period) and now they’re set up so they have all those options on the table. Good stuff.
Personally the ending was great but the season was very sloppy with plots. Having to set it up to fast and didn’t use another season to make it a finale like what season 1 did for season 2. Both set up each other well which is why I like Season 1 & 2 better. So hoping if they make they ever make a season 4 it should be little more different have stakes that’ll slowly increase.
for me the only bad spot in the mid-air fight scenes was the Mandalorians not using their backpack missiles in a situation absolutely ideal for their use, compared with missile use in similar scenes in Clone Wars
tell me how many times you're going to rewatch this scene on RUclips. Im sorry im taking fun away from you but the more mid content people accept, the more mid content Disney will produce
@@FireJach Why is it 'mid' content, you prefer reality TV or gameshows or something? Even my least fav SW episodes are in top 1% of content available, not 'mid'.
Man, seeing the mid-air battles with guns and hammers makes me want a Mandalorian video game. One where you could fly and battle and maybe even custom make your own Mandalorian armor!
Omn1media's reaction explains the confusion regarding the title of the last episode. Essentially the title is a biblical reference, and the "spies" are the scouts going ahead to see if Mandalore can be a home for the clans. Omn1 explains it really well.
For a season that almost definitely got screwed in the production by the pandemic and the cancellation of a few different shows, I think they cobbled together a decent season and a decent finale. Not the greatest BY FAR, but decent and I had fun with it. It seems really obvious to me at least that they weren’t able to tell the story they wanted to this season, but I found what they were able to pull together fun for the most part and I was kept pretty engaged
This is the story they wanted and it’s not done yet either cause there’s a 4th season and the big movie. They been building up to their own Infinity War but no one sees it even after it was revealed.
I think the Book of Bobba Fett wasn't suppose to have Mando 2.5 sesson and become a ''mando show,''.. They scrapped together what they could to have a ''show''. Season 2.5 of Book Bobba Fett was meant to be Season3 half season (in my opinion). Disney never cancel a show, it must go on! ... It costed them a good ''bobba fett'' and an average mid-season 3 Mando. I am sure Mando will become the new star of the HighRepublic show, and Mandolorian will become bokatan
There has been a lot of drama behind the scenes especially with Favero and lucas film and with the actors too. Not sure how much of it is true but Favero almost completely left the show because Lucasfilm was getting too involved in their decisions and not leaving them be then with the whole Gina situation which wasn't their decision and sprung on them out of nowhere. Their has been a lot of drama and you could tell that their story they wanted too tell got messed up. I do believe they did a good job with what they are given but yeah its unfortunate they weren't able to do what they wanted to do.
Din fighting the commandos had to be my favorite part. It was like a gauntlet, with each ray shield granting new weapons and a “different” kind of enemy at each level like a video game. 😮💨
I quite enjoyed this season as I have the previous ones. But Andor is still my top spot for Star Wars live action (I am miles behind on animated!). I'm glad the Star Wars universe has enough room to tell lots of stories in lots of different ways.
Same here, maybe this season was very weak most of the time but not enough for me to rank this lower. The Mandalorian is still my personal favorite Star Wars thing :)
I do wish we could have seen Pedro’s face in the finale-but I understand (I assume he was filming TLOU at the time). Din declaring Grogu as his adoptive son made me so happy though (he really is Daddy Pascal)! 😂🥰
Really enjoyed Michael being on this series. He brought a lot of interesting commentary and meshed really well with you guys. Hope to see him on the channel again soon!
Agree, is interesting to listen @mjtessler or @michaeltessler comments and see is point of view, he know a lot about Star Wars universe. Now I want to watch Rebels for all the references he did in Mandalorian. I hope to see him back
I never understood why so many people thought the Armorer might be a traitor in the face of the evidence against it. The fact that when the Imperials wiped out the covert on Navarro, they attacked her as well. The fact that had she been working with Gideon all along, why the hell would she quest Din to reunite Grogu with the Jedi when Gideon was hunting the kid at the time? The fact that Gideon wasn't even aware that the rival Mandalorian factions had allied together until the beginning of the previous episode. And that information came to him by way of his mole within the New Republic, not some mysterious/unseen informant. Smh.
i totally agree with you, but they did kept putting some weird atmosphere whenever she was in the scene. like she was hiding something or plotting something, keep putting ominous music over her appearance… it was a weird choice
@@AppleFrogTomatoFace Honestly I think what that did is trick people into thinking the danger would be up in the sky. Rather than there being a hidden base on Mandalore. ;)
@@AppleFrogTomatoFace Tbh, I believe that was more meant to enhance her mysteriousness, which is an aspect she's had since ever. ^The problem, as already said, is that some fans - due to overanalyzing mentalities - latched onto anything that seemed suspect, even when there was no real reason to. And seemingly ignoring how the Armorer being a spy didn't make sense (because if she was, why have events gone the way they have? Why did Gideon just learn about Nevarro from Elia, instead of it being old news?), just because they seized that preconception instead of keeping an open mind and letting things unfold before they judged. Even when I was a teen, I learned to accept what happens, and go with it - it's a lesson I feel many could learn, because it definitely enhances the experience imo, whereas expectations (even fair ones, but especially unfair ones) hinder it
The part where Din was fighting the super commandos it felt so much like a video game level. Like oh you’ve been captured and lost all your items, so you have to fight using only things you can find
That was my favorite fight of the episode, tbh. Really got to show off Din's fighting skills and how it really isn't all about the trinkets, but who's wielding them. Imagine how OP and unbalanced this show would be if they hadn't wisely removed his ludicrous disintegration blaster from Season 1. You'd think Mandalorian weapons like that would be more coveted than the Darksaber itself, and that Moff Gideon building an "ultimate army" would've been looking into _that_ tech this whole time... would've been a much shorter battle... 😳
After the finale I enjoyed it as a whole . This season was like an anthology with bo as a main character. And din as a side character and after this it sets it up to go back . And payoffs it did maybe not to the speculation but as a story of gaining back mandalore it paid off for sure it sealed it and tied everything up . I’m glad that they didn’t have to try to out due the ending . I agree it wasn’t the best season but I rather have din and grogu but was happy that bo has her arch .
The prevention of Gideon not able to acquire the Force was thwarted nicely in the finale. I think their were storylines that could've have been explored and he is saving it for season 4. The disappointment was the airing of season 3 being so late.
This episode fixed a lot of my issues with season 3. It had a clear goal and kept the focus where it was supposed to be: Din and Grogu. On top of that, Bo worked with Din instead of constantly overshadowing him. And Din finally adopting Grogu (excuse me, DIN Grogu ❤) was the icing on the cake!
The spies were the Mandalorians. I saw this theory and it makes sense. They were doing recon. Fantastic episode. Taking back Mandalore was always in the background since the first season. There is finally a Mandalore and it's people are where they are supposed to be. Now Din and Grogu can go on adventures and while Grogu may never actually become a jedi officially, he still has the force. He will continue to develop and grow into his power. We already saw that even though he does need help, he can now defend himself fairly well. And to me, he is the future of Mandalore. He knows the mythisaur is there and at some point I'm sure there will be a meeting between them both. I found myself also wanting to see more of Bo-Katan, The Armorer, and Axe. I would definately watch a show with them.
I like how there a tiny tree infront of Din's home. maybe in a future series where Grogu is now a teen wearing Din's armour, he'll come home and that tiny tree is now Huge AF
Gideon's ego blinded him to the biggest flaw in his plan. If his clones were anything like him, how long would he be able to control them all? Even if he implanted inhibitor chips in their brains they would presumably have been as clever as himself and they'd have the Force(and the Dark Side at that) to help them resist
yup, and i think when Mando came and helped him he also had a "moral boost" as in "my dad is here, nothing can happen to me" and he felt more safe using the force
I think your reaction to this season and episode overall could be a result of expectation vs. reality. for me, it was a great season and since I’ve been looking at the show from a 3 season arc point of view, I think the entire story has been wrapped up so nicely. Din and Grogu are closer than ever, having now been officially bonded as father and son; Grogu (now Din Grogu) has grown so much in his abilities and confidence; Bo Katan has now broken free of the expectations the dark saber had placed on her and can now rule Mandalore based on her leadership abilities, rather than on a piece of weaponry; the Mandalorians have now taken back Mandalore and now have their own home, rather than a small place on Navarro, where they can grow and prosper once more; we now know Moff Gideon’s true intentions and have taken care of him (or have we?); and finally, the Mandalorians are working together and will now be able to be a formidable force once again. and they’ll have to remain formidable if Thrawn is coming back, which he probably is. seeing Din Djarin and Din Grogu relaxing in their little spot at the end was so satisfying to me. this season had so much emotional impact for me and I’m totally satisfied. ❤
Hey I’m glad you enjoyed it a lot and like I’ve said many times - context is one thing, and don’t get me wrong, of course I already see all the context you’re pointing out. I wouldn’t say I was sold on an “expectation” on what plot would be - everyone had guesses on what might happen but little theories don’t equate to expectation. This more so comes down to execution. I wasn’t a big fan of how things were executed overall regarding the handling of storytelling in terms of writing & direction. Context and intent I can appreciate, but the way a lot of it overall was executed was very mid for us.
By the way, I discovered your channel through your reactions of Mandalorian s1, followed one year later by s2, and your passion and enthusiasm was so infectious it actually managed to amplify my own love of the series ! I feel so sorry to see you all so dejected after this whimper of a season 3... BUT I'll go out with 2 more upbeats notes. 1/ this season has been written and started production 2 years ago, when KK wasn't busy with the movies anymore AND Chapek was still very much in full force. These 2 together, as Michael has said, were REALLY not making for a good working environment at both Disney and Lucasfilm. If Favreau has already written all of s4's during this season's post production, now that Chapek is gone and KK is probably on her way out, there is hope that s4 might be less restrained, and we get back to s1 and 2's form. No guarantee, but well, hope is what keeps us alive. I'm already glad they didn't offed Din Djarin 2/ Much earlier than s4, we're gonna have Visions vol 2 coming on May the 4th. I'm working in the animation indsutry, and I know at least 4 of the 9 studios brought to the forefront with this volume ,and BOY ! You're not ready for these !!! - UK's legendary studio Aardman, who's created the iconic Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep franchises ; - Ireland's Cartoon Saloon, creators of the wonderful Secret of Kells, Song of the sea, Breadwinner and Wolfwalkers, all of them Oscars nominated ; - S.Korea's Studio Mir, the studio who produced all the animations from Avatar the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra, nothing less... - And my personal favorite (if the previous ones weren't already fantastic enough), France's Studio la Cachette, who have worked on Love, Death, and Robots, and Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal and the coming Unicorn Warriors Eternal, on top of a bunch of formidable french animation features and series, like Ernest and Celestine, a Trip to Gibberitia. And if you want to see some more personal works of them, go check out on youtube their graduation movie from les Gobelins : Le Royaume, and a trailer they've done for one of their own director's comic book, Kairos ! And prepare to be blown away ! To me, they are well on their way to become France's Studio Ghibli. All these studios are among the creme de la creme of the worldwide animation industry, and from what I could see in their presentations at Celebration, I'm already salivating ! Cherry on top of the cake : for any studio outside of Lucasfilm working on star Wars, they're on a mission ! We already saw it with Visions vol.1, with every studio bringing their absolute A-Game, so given the talents involved this time, I'm every bit convinced that our minds will be blown even further by vol.2. And best of the best : You can be sure they stayed far from KK's greasy clutches, so their visions (haha) will be unstained. How sad is it for star wars to see that the best Star Wars content comes from the far outer rim of Lucasfilm... But hey, if it spins out into a whole Star Wars animated multiverse, I'm all for it ! Bring on the Twins and the Ninth Jedi as full fledged series !
This season was at its peak for me during episodes two and three. Those episodes really hooked me into this season and are just brilliantly crafted, in my opinion.
Agreed. To me most of the rest was MID. I liked the finale... I would actually prefer if it just ends there. My expectations for a new season will be quite low. We shall see I suppose.
@Benjamin Roe I thoroughly enjoyed all of the episodes, but episodes two and three are at another level for me. They're the only chapters in this season that are among the best of the entire series, in my opinion.
@@daltonmeadesmith I will agree with that. I might rate those episodes a 9 which would put them slightly below the very best episodes of Mando (IMO) but still nothing in this season matched what I saw in certain parts of Seasons 1,2, I find that sad. Just my opinion. But yeah certainly this season wasn't a disaster... It just wasn't as good as it COULD have been.
Expectations will definitely take you out of the experience. I love this finale. Just stop watching prediction videos and sit back and enjoy. I feel bad for extreme die hard fans that look too deep into things. Just sit back and enjoy.💙
MANDALORE IS BACK! I just finished my first watch of Clone Wars yesterday so the siege of Mandalore was fresh in my mind. I’m certain this moment in Star Wars history will come to be known as: *The Reclamation of Mandalore*
Hey, hey, as someone also watching clone wars for the first time after The Mandalorian, I have a question. Go look at episode five again and then ep 7 of this season. How long do you think Dave Filoni has been wanting to do Paz’s scene in live action with a big budget? Lol
I love how much fun this season was- crazy battles, leaning into the campier sides of Star Wars, just exploring the galaxy. It felt like the clone wars in that we were just getting to adventure, but also see Mandalore finally united. Idk, it just felt like a refreshingly fun piece of SW content
also, people keep forgetting that Grogu is still a baby and in previous seasons we’ve only really seen him use his force powers to that extent when he’s trying to protect those cares about.
yeah his longevity compared to human characters is more due to very slow aging rather than him actually developing 50 years worth physically and mentally. he is as much a baby as he looks.
I so glad that as a star wars fan we all got to experience this fire ass show together. Shout out to the work you put in giving us these fire ass reactions. Ya videos always make me feel like im chillin watching the show with my homies🔥🔥🔥
This ending felt very safe. I feel there should have been something more in the end, like a post-credits scene revealing a big surprise. There were no risks taken this finale and while it was good, I feel a tiny bit let down, as I have with this season overall.
They could have moved the scene showing the return of IG-11 as the new marshall of Nevarro to the end credits and it would have worked there. I think it was always an unrealistic expectation that there would be a post credit scene teasing the return of Thrawn. They had a Thrawn reference last episode but any on camera reveal was always going to be reserved for the Ahsoka series.
Personally I was very happy during this episode and just the episode as a whole. Seeing the Mandos and The Imperials fight in the air was great, the shields fight was great, the commanders vs Din & Grogu chefs kiss, Din vs Moff, Gideon vs Grogu, Din & Bo. Ahh I loved all of it. Then with Din officially adopting Grogu was very cute and the season and more likely series finale ending with Din & Grogu at their new house is a fitting end. And Goff dying by a blazing explosion was a very fitting end. Sad we didn't see Thrawn or more of a tease, but that wasn't the point. Seeing the Darksaber get destroyed was surprising, but I didn't hate it.. Also I kind of wanted to see Din & Bo kiss when the fire was surrounding them.
This was such an incredible episode. I loved this one so much, I thought it was perfect. I felt like everything about it was just so fantastic in every aspect. The the story, the writing, the action and the interactions between the characters made this episode even more incredible. I also loved the score for this episode, it gave us both that classic Mandalorian theme that we love and some action, thriller sounding themes. And the set design for the locations in this one were so amazing. Whether it was the ruins of Mandalor, or Navarro they just looked so real, fantastic, and really lived in through out the entirety of their scenes. Right off the bat it was really cool to see Mando escape from those Imperial Mandalorians, the choreography was awesome and it was really cool to see Grogu come in and help Din. And that Mando hallway fight with Imperial Mandalorians was also really awesome. Again the choreography was amazing, its always just so great to see Mando beating up Imperials, especially with all the unique and different ways he went about it. Also I found all the R5 scenes so funny. Whether it was the way he acted/moved or the things he did with those Mouse Droids. And then we get to see a live action Attack of Mandalor. This was so amazing to get to see, it was awesome and really visually and ascetically pleasing in every way. It was so great to see Bo-Katan leading the army of Mandalorians into battle while wielding the Darksaber. And again the choreography for this battle was amazing, seeing all the Mandalorians fighting the Imperial Mandalorians was awesome, seeing all the unique and different ways the Mandalorians were able to take them out was so cool. And its always great to see more of The Armorer in action. Then we get the reveal of Moff Gideon Clones. This was an insane reveal that I could have never seen coming. All this time I’ve been thinking that the Clones he was making were to reincarnate Palpatine, but it was really for Force Sensitive Clones of himself. I wonder if this plot line will come back up in Season 3. Then we get to see a really cool fight scene between Moff Gideon and Din. It was cool to get to see these two have a rematch after their last fight in Season 2. I will say though, it was a little weird to me that Moff Gideon was able to overpower Din so many times. From what we saw in their fight in Season 2, Din was a much more skilled fighter and was easily able to take him down after he disarmed him of the Darksaber. So maybe that Mandalorian, Dark Trooper armor he was wearing was giving him a little added strength. Then after that we get to see another cool fight, between Mando, Grogu and the Praetorian Guards. I loved being able to see the two of them working together in order to defeat their opponents. Especially when Grogu would use the force on one of the Praetorian Guards that would allow Mando to take one of them out. And I loved the fight between Bo-Katan and Moff Gideon. It was so great to finally get to see these two fighting. I thought that the choreography in this was really cool and I really liked the way how you could feel Bo-Katan’s emotions throughout the fight. It felt like with each strike she was releasing more and more of her hatred for him. And, wow, Moff Gideon literally broke the Darksaber with his hands. Further proof of my theory that the Mandalorian, Dark Trooper armor he was wearing was giving him a little added strength. I also feel like the destruction of the Darksaber could be a very important part of the Mandalorian’s future. Now that it is gone, none of them will fight over who should rule purely based off of who owns the Darksaber. And it was so awesome to see Axe Woves crash the Light Cruiser into the base. Not only was it just a really cool move, but it also proved how far he was willing to go in order to help save his people. Also Moff Gideon just die? Or is this some sort of trick to get us to believe he’s dead when really that was just a Clone. Either way it was satisfying to finally get to see him get what he had coming to him after all the bad things he had done. I also loved the way how Grogu stopped the explosion from hitting him, Din and Bo the same way that Kanan did in Rebels. And I really liked the ending of this episode, it really felt like it was able to wrap up (or for one case check back in on) the remaining storylines for this season. It was really great to see the Mandalorians finally coming together in order to rebuild Mandalor. I also liked how we got to see them restoring Mandalor in both a physical and spiritual way. They were able to physically start the restoration of Mandalor by restarting the Great Forge, and they were able to spiritually restore Mandalor by doing the ritual for the Children of the Watch. And it was so heartwarming to see Mando officially adopt Grogu as his son. I also really liked getting to see another glimpse at the Mythosaur, but I will admit I was a little bit surprised that this was the most we saw of it after Episode 2. Maybe this means they are setting up for its true return to be in Season 4. Speaking of Season 4, I loved the setup they made for it by having Din becoming a private contractor for Carson Teva in order to hunt down other Imperial remnants. It was really cool to see Greef Karga again, I always enjoy getting to see Navarro, especially when Din and Greef do their special handshake. And I loved that we finally (really) got IG-11 back, I have been waiting for his real return ever since they teased us with it in the first episode of this season. And I like how Din kind of left him as a present for Greef as the Marshal of Navarro, I wonder if he will be present in Season 4. Also what was up with that weird, cartoonish, Looney Tunes looking, closing transition? Don’t get me wrong, I loved that the final shot was of Din and Grogu together, but still what was up with that thing. Also this is the first season in the show where we didn’t get to see Din’s face. I actually found this really surprising. I thought at the very least we would have gotten to see him with his helmet off while he was sitting at his Navarro home at the end. Anyway, I loved this episode so much. It was so perfect in every aspect and served as a great action packed thriller. I really loved this season, despite its ups and downs I was still able to enjoy it a lot and appreciate it for everything it was able to accomplish and give us. I cannot wait for next season and to see what it will be about, whenever it may be. It was so great to watch your reactions to this season and I can’t wait to watch more down the line. This is the Way
I feel like a lot of people wanted some crazy shocking din death scene or something. I’m glad there was a happy ending, these two deserve a happy ending (for now) and I’m glad upcoming seasons will revolve around them (din and grogu) seemingly and not mandalore as a whole
I know you're exaggerating, but the stakes were actually low in the finale. I don't think we even see a single Mandalorian die. It's 0 losses for the good guys, and all the losses for Gideon. The plot with the force-wielding clones was introduced, and then discarded in a span of 2 minutes. I guess it's a good subversion of expectations. Mandalorians just came in, killed everybody, and went on without elaborating.
This season was perfect. I don't see why it isn't to some people. I love it, because it's about the culture and Mandalorians themselves. Nothing else. It's more of a lesson than a series, that's why I love it. It makes me want to be a Mandalorian even more in my life
One thing that does make me optimistic for the future of the show is that this season, while trying to go bigger, ultimately left things in the perfect setup to go back to the simpler formula that many people seem to love about the show. Gideon is gone for good, most of the Mandalorians are gonna be rebuilding their civilization, the New Republic is still terrible at maintaining peace in the galaxy, there are more Imperials scheming in the shadows, and Din Djarin is ready to go back to bounty hunting, only now he’s gotta raise his son as a Mandalorian. All we need is for something to go horribly wrong for our heroes to have to fix.
Shi idc what happens if they dont have grogu connect with the beast or have thw beast actually have some screen time in the 4th season they shouldnt come out with it
I loved the whole season this is still my favorites star wars series ... let's see what's to come in Ahsoka... Din Jarin and Din Grogu still have stories to tell .. Love this show ... greetings from bogota Colombia 😘
What an amazing finale for The Mandalorian season 3. The action was nonstop from start to finish. Both Lateef Crowder and Brendan Wayne were incredible in the action sequences against the Dark Troopers and Moff Gideon with Pedro providing the high stakes drama. Din Grogu OMG he has evolved so much and the maturity that he shows is just beautiful from his facial expressions.
@@TheTurncoatWolf Agreed. Some people simply don't know what good content is. They think action scenes, explosions, bright lights, and VFX are what makes something good.
I have a lot of questions as many things were left in the air, but perhaps it was done on purpose to address in S4? I did love the ending circling back to Din & Grogu with their lil father and son moment, I teared up! I honestly thought they are going to erase Din's memories, which would have been cheap, so I am glad they didn't do that. This season was definitely weaker, but Greg don't lose hope! the show is still fantastic and I hope you are able to nurture your love for it in the future:) S3 had a peaceful and triumphant ending, and lets appreciate that for a little bit because all we get is pain lol p.s. I still liked episodes 1, 2, 7 & 8 - they felt like Star Wars.
I entirely agree with you. I thought I was just spoiled with Andor being so good, but I think it's more to do with it just not being written that well. I was also disappointed with some of the puppetry work, which didn't help.
I love how you can tell its not just a beskar suit for gideon. But there is machinery and such in there like an exoskeleton enhacing his strength to allow him to crush the saber and semmingly break parts of bo's hand
@@mrcheese5383 beskar does not mean completely unbreakable. Also that thing is like over a thousand years old. It could easily be weaker after that long of a time period and all its been through.
When Din (weird calling him that now since apparently that's their family name) adopted Grogu I remembered that they're not officially father and son yet. I always kinda assumed that they were already like that after they got the Mudhorn family crest lmao
The Twelve Spies, as recorded in the Book of Numbers, were a group of Israelite chieftains, one from each of the Twelve Tribes, who were dispatched by Moses to scout out the Land of Canaan for 40 days[1] as a future home for the Israelite people, during the time when the Israelites were in the wilderness following their Exodus from Ancient Egypt. The account is found in Numbers 13:1-33, and is repeated with some differences in Deuteronomy 1:22-40
I couldn't disagree more with your take on this episode. I had chills the entire time throughout this finale. Loved seeing the Mandalorians all gather together and fight for each other. The themes of this season really all came together in the action scenes of the finale, seeing the Mandalorians constantly have each others back and work together to defeat a common enemy was really rewarding to me. I love how they wrapped up the retaking of Mandalore while also setting up the next season with Din and Grogu hunting down the imperial remnant.
Most people not fully enjoying this episode seem to have built up ridiculous expectations either of their own imagination or because they read a random online theory. The only problem I did have is that they teased the Mythosaur heavily and it lead to nothing. It will probably be brought up again in another season or show but overall I loved this episode.
The spies were the people from the Empire, just that, and then Mandalorians in Mandalore. People overthink this season too much and waited too much for it and everyone went nuts over "the spies" title and the Armorer/mof little horns. Destroying the Dark Saber it's how Mandalore was saved, no more change in leadership, no more divide. Other seasons had a lot of episodes that never connected, this season was going back to season 1 and give an end to the Mandalorians struggle, and Din finally trusting fully on droids
This season was everything STAR WARS! World-building, Sci-Fi, camp! People who were looking for some grander scheme were missing the narrative forest for the trees. The spies were the Mandalorians scouting to see if it were safe to retake Mandalore.
Ikr star wars doesn't need to all be andor, andor was great but i don't want every star wars show to be like this. Variety is good. The mandalorian is a great hommage to the old westerns and classic star wars, andor on the other hand is an amazing show but very différent and that's what we need just à bunch of unique fresh and different shows
Love your reactions to all episodes! This was a great finale and really a very good season. And now Grogu is a Mandalorian Apprentice and Din's son, I love the way he walks by Din's side. He can walk around by himself, confidently. We don't see him in his floating crib anymore, nor does he need IG-12. Also, he stands on the steps in Nevarro and Greef Karga addresses him by name which he didn't at the beginning of the season and Mando had to remind Greef that his name was Grogu. He plays with the frog but doesn't eat it, because he is not hungry like he was before. He is safe and home and growing up. Finally, I know there is a lot of criticism of Season 3, but I see it as part of a trilogy. The final episode is titled "The Return", and could parallel with "The Return of The Jedi" film. I am already watching the whole three seasons from the beginning and I am sure there will be a great deal of insight to gain. I can hardly wait for the next trilogy (Seasons 4, 5 & 6) of The Mandalorian. I hope we see Din Grogu on top of the Mythosaur!
"The Spies" was a biblical reference to Moses' Twelve Spies, a group he put together from the various tribes to scout ahead of the rest. Which was exactly what happened in that ep.
They basically just stopped focusing on the protagonists sadly. A lot happened in the sense of the Mandalorian people but for Din and Grogu? Honestly like din just said ‘let’s take back mandalore!!’ But I never actually felt he cared
The battle with Grogu vs. The Preatorian Guards was done so well. The practical sequences with Grogu using the force, dodging the guards with precise accuracy. Then the battle between Moff Gideon, Bo Katan with Din Djarin and Grogu coming to the aid was a nice family moment. Space Dad and Mom with their child coming together to stop Gideon just incredible.
I wish they didn’t tease them as a family like this to just then have Din and grogu go off by themselves…I get that she has stuff to do as the queen of mandalorian but still….like what was the point in that at all?! She could’ve just been like the armorer as a boss woman figure who cares about everybody.
I think the title "the spies" is missunderstood, a scout can in classical way also designated as spy, so i think "the spies" means Bo Katan's volounter scout group to the forge.
*ALL HAIL BO-KATAN, THIS IS THE WAY!!* I’ve said for years that she could be the best ruler Mandalore has ever had, and she’s more than proven that. She was the true titular Mandalorian this season. I’m also so happy that the Mandalorians *FINALLY* have their home back but more than that, they have truly been united. And seeing the Great Forge reignited was beautiful. I still can’t believe how many people thought that one of the Mandalorians would’ve been a spy for Moff Gideon, especially The Armorer! What just because she’s mysterious, has horns on her helmet?!?! I blame the fact that the last episode was called The Spies, which was a horrible title because there has only been 1 spy and it’s Elia Kane. Also, all I have wanted was for Din and Grogu, (I’m sorry, Din Grogu) to find a nice, peaceful and beautiful place to relax and call home. And all the frogs to play with/eat.
You guys seem to have missed a lot of subtext. The Armorer did not include the keep the helmet on part of the creed in the ceremony, and the helmeted and not helmeted Mandalorians are standing mixed instead of in 2 groups.
I just realized this might be one of the few moments we’ve had an all out fist fight as a final battle for a Star Wars property. Part of me wishes Moff Gideon made himself a red lightsaber since he’s so obsessed about the Force
Gideon would have had to acquire someone else's lightsaber, i.e. steal it. I think only trained force users are able to properly align the kyber crystals needed to construct a lightsaber.
@@Lupin788 It could be his own bastardized version of it since his whole deal was stealing from other people, but I did like the bo staff he had. It was very reminiscent of people you fight in Jedi Fallen Order
This series setups interesting possibilities for Din's emotional and spiritual journey that wind up doing nowhere. Like the Darksaber being too heavy for him to wield that felt like it had some great potential for some character development to learn about himself and connect with the blade (just like Sabine did in one of the absoloute best episodes of Rebels) but he casually passes it to Bo instead. Or there's the removal of his helmet to let Grogu see his face that put him at odds with the Armorer and the rest of his clan. We could have dug into his relationship with a group this series has labeled a cult in its own words but he just goes to redeem himself and then sees the acceptance of Bo and her Mandalorians and just continues to leave his helmet on. Having Din recused so quickly in the season finale where Din usually experiences some new level of personal growth it makes me wonder what the plan is with his character if there is one at all, because it seems like he's just spinning his wheels. IMO it would have been more powerful if Bo destroyed the Darksaber herself. This is another thing this season that just happened to her ... she accidentally joined a cult, she was ordered to take her helmet off, then she was given the Darksaber and then it was taken from her. I think it does show character growth that she no longer thinks she needs to Darksaber to lead but I wish she decided to set it aside herself rather then having her enemy make that decision for her. As for the final scene in the Living Waters, I don't know what to make of it. It seemed like a chance for more development for Din but the biggest emotional breakthrough was Din saying he'd adopt Grogu ...I mean yeah duh I thought we were already on the same page with that. The Armorer said Din was Grogu's father back in season 1 so that moment didn't really land for me. And I don't know what to think of the Children of the Watch anymore. I feel like the Armorer's story has been bouncing back and forth. To me there seemed like a lot of emphasis placed on strict adherence to rules that didn't matter. Throughout the season I wanted Din to decide that being a Madalorian didn't mean wearing your helmet all the time, it meant living with honor. I feel like there's this tension between the removal of his helmet in Season 2 and then his immediate desire to redeem himself as if it was some kind of mistake. I don't think he regrets showing his face to Grogu, I think he knows where there are moments where the helmet should come off so I was hoping for more of a change on a personal level for Din.
I figured that since Mando got R5 to help him on Mandalore, restoring IG could solve Nevarro's Needed-Marshall Problem. And See Mando, R5 is good to have around after all (it felt great hearing in the ep Mando call R5 his Buddy). Your Astromech Purchase instead of IG Recovery worked out in the long run. R5-D4, Welcome to Clan Mudhorn!!!! {as well as technically as Mando's 2nd Child!!!}

@@JasonlaroseLaRose exactly. When they followed Grogu and the door closed I was like they are so dead..
Yep. Aside from getting food (which is pretty easy for him, I guess), Grogu only uses his powers when he really needs to. It’s obviously hard and exhausting for him. I think he only ever used them in battle when Din’s life was in danger and he knew or felt Din needed them.
A lot of people didn’t look at it like that when they should of. He’s was buying time the whole time.
Oh I like that connection! I never thought of that
Thank you. I saw it on another video explaining that. Star Wars fans you know. Got to Love us.
Plays in line with true Star Wars lore being based upon myths and world religions.
Oh. I didn't even think about that being a possible conenction. Nice.
Yes. Someone mentioned it as a post on a Reddit thread. It's an older usage of the word "spy". Thanks for sharing it here.
Emily Swallow deserves a lot of credit as the Armorer more than what she gets already.
I definitely got that vibe but then I second guessed myself, thinking, "is that way too soap-opera for The Mandalorian?" idk
Nah, I feel like it was the same guy who saved him from the battle droid

Amen! Go in for fun and adventure and anything else is a bonus
and this why studios will continue to serve us crap because fan accept anything, so they dont have to try
I love his growth!

“The spies” from episode 7 was a biblical reference to Moses’ 12 spies (one from each tribe) who were sent ahead to scout the promised land and make sure it was suitable for them. Including Bo, there were 12 Mandalorians who went down ahead to scout Mandalore
…no, but actually, this is what it was. I didn’t “get it” last week either, found the explanation later and said “Oh. Got it.”
Dude… you went deep with that commentary.
I have watched a video of a Jewish rabbi comparing Star Wars with biblical things.
The Mandalorian do have similarities to the ancient Hebrew. A people who struggle to maintain their principles despite the everchanging circumstances
OMG! I do remember that story. That actually does make sense.
Thanks for this clarification! That makes perfect sense to me
And this is not the first time Star Wars has used The Bible for references or narrative themes. Anakin was Jesus gone evil.
It could have been done way better
Also the darksaber is a very récent addition, in legends the mask worn by the mandalore was the true symbol
@@mrcheese5383 How would you have written it?
Also one less thing the future generations of Mandalorians can fight over. You just know the race of space warriors would always eventually start a war just to have the cool looking sword.
Exactly.
@Vagabond so many tears
Armorer beat the traitor allegations
@Vagabond never said it was a masterpiece. I said it was a satisfactory ending. Not everything is going to be a home run.

I just noticed some of the stuff is flipped. Is that to avoid copyright?

They could produce other shows during the pandemic so that's not an excuse. We didn't get the 3rd season earlier because of Boba and Obi-Wan. Period.

Even when I was a teen, I learned to accept what happens, and go with it - it's a lesson I feel many could learn, because it definitely enhances the experience imo, whereas expectations (even fair ones, but especially unfair ones) hinder it
and she made grogu a piece of armor
Din adopting grogu really made me cry
It was so sweet
Din grogu son's Din
❤❤❤
My favourite part of this was the phrase “don’t turn your speculation into expectation”… fantastic advice
This finale felt like the ending to a great western themed movie. If this were to be the end of the series it is a good one.
Agreed. Even if this isn’t the end of the show, it is definitely the end of the of the story they had been building up since the first season
They set it up to continue and also made it a great ending. Can’t wait to find out.
Already been confirmed season 4 is happening.
Season 4 has already been fully written lol.
The ending felt more of a series ending than a season ending.
So did S2
I think my favorite part was Bo’s duel with Moff Gideon. She really let out her inner rage.
So excited for Ahsoka!
The theorist are high on SPIES they bought from the Pyke Syndicate.
I’m so happy how wrong everyone was about predicting this it made the final so better
I like how there a tiny tree infront of Din's home.
maybe in a future series where Grogu is now a teen wearing Din's armour, he'll come home and that tiny tree is now Huge AF
Also, those guards were not Dark Troopers...Gideon was the Phase IV Dark Trooper. Those guards were Imperial Supercommandos.
I have a feeling Moff isn’t really gone.
I loved how Grogu knew he had to pace his force wielding as it makes him tired
yup, and i think when Mando came and helped him he also had a "moral boost" as in "my dad is here, nothing can happen to me" and he felt more safe using the force
@@ReelRejects
As a casual Star Wars fan, I second that.
Din was so bad ass in this episode....he was on a mission to take out gideon. 👍👍.....but team work took over. 😁
By the way, I discovered your channel through your reactions of Mandalorian s1, followed one year later by s2, and your passion and enthusiasm was so infectious it actually managed to amplify my own love of the series !
I feel so sorry to see you all so dejected after this whimper of a season 3...
BUT
I'll go out with 2 more upbeats notes.
I'm already glad they didn't offed Din Djarin
2/ Much earlier than s4, we're gonna have Visions vol 2 coming on May the 4th.
I'm working in the animation indsutry, and I know at least 4 of the 9 studios brought to the forefront with this volume ,and BOY ! You're not ready for these !!!
- UK's legendary studio Aardman, who's created the iconic Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep franchises ;
- Ireland's Cartoon Saloon, creators of the wonderful Secret of Kells, Song of the sea, Breadwinner and Wolfwalkers, all of them Oscars nominated ;
- S.Korea's Studio Mir, the studio who produced all the animations from Avatar the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra, nothing less...
Just sit back and enjoy.💙
what happens when you fall in love with your own fanfic
MANDALORE IS BACK! I just finished my first watch of Clone Wars yesterday so the siege of Mandalore was fresh in my mind. I’m certain this moment in Star Wars history will come to be known as:
*The Reclamation of Mandalore*
I’d say he’s more aware than the average baby, Ahsoka literally had a whole ass force conversation with him
I hope we still get Bo, Din, and Grogu adventures for a while
I think Bo will be busy trying to rebuild Mandalore. That planet was wrecked after the Empire was done with it.
@@vodkagal28
I think so too. I'll miss them together A LOT.
It's basically like the three episodes trilogy thing.
Nobody died, no betrayals, very little story. But I still enjoyed it a lot
Don't forget the epic hall of laser walls fight. "Next gate!"
This is the Way
Greg in pyjamas watching the finale is just a great vibe
I demand season 4 I don't ever want this to end 😭
Um we already know theres gonna be more seasons
yeah but more episodes with this quality in directing and better story please
Shi idc what happens if they dont have grogu connect with the beast or have thw beast actually have some screen time in the 4th season they shouldnt come out with it
N grogu needs to get his lightsaber
Season 4 is on its way apparently. No official confirmation from Disney, but Jon said he already wrote the initial draft.
Din Grogu OMG he has evolved so much and the maturity that he shows is just beautiful from his facial expressions.
the finale was too simple and weak imo.
Action was nonstop from start to finish ? Have we all seen the same season ?
@@TheTurncoatWolf Agreed. Some people simply don't know what good content is. They think action scenes, explosions, bright lights, and VFX are what makes something good.
@@roboninja3194 exzactly. nuance is what that matters ultimately.
Warmed my heart for half a second to hear Greg say “my best friend John…” before the surprise Campea quote 🥲
06:50 "on my command" is a Cylon reference for Din who looks like a Cylon and Katie Sackhoff who was a star on Battle Star Galactica.
This was the epitome of "super easy, barely an inconvenience"
No good guys were harmed during the making of this episode
The Mandalorians came in, killed the bad guys, and stayed without elaborating.
How did he crush a beaker lightsaber lol
@@mrcheese5383 beskar does not mean completely unbreakable. Also that thing is like over a thousand years old. It could easily be weaker after that long of a time period and all its been through.
@@mrcheese5383 The hilt is just a casing for the kyber crystal and can be crushed with sufficient grip strength like Gideon has in his mech suit.

12 mandalorians in last ep
I couldn't disagree more with your take on this episode. I had chills the entire time throughout this finale. Loved seeing the Mandalorians all gather together and fight for each other. The themes of this season really all came together in the action scenes of the finale, seeing the Mandalorians constantly have each others back and work together to defeat a common enemy was really rewarding to me. I love how they wrapped up the retaking of Mandalore while also setting up the next season with Din and Grogu hunting down the imperial remnant.
this shit was fucking garbage
Most people not fully enjoying this episode seem to have built up ridiculous expectations either of their own imagination or because they read a random online theory. The only problem I did have is that they teased the Mythosaur heavily and it lead to nothing. It will probably be brought up again in another season or show but overall I loved this episode.
The Mythosaur was just simbolic, imo
Yes the forest is vast.
My thinking was the Shadow Council were thee "spies"
Ikr star wars doesn't need to all be andor, andor was great but i don't want every star wars show to be like this. Variety is good. The mandalorian is a great hommage to the old westerns and classic star wars, andor on the other hand is an amazing show but very différent and that's what we need just à bunch of unique fresh and different shows
This chapter was epic and magnanimous... what a chapter... speechless. The only thing I missed was hearing Bo-Katan say "And I will be his mother."
Grogu was a highlight of the episode, which I’m very glad about. Hope Grogu builds off of that momentum
Spy is also synonymous with ‘scout.’ The Mandalorians were the ‘spies.’ They scouted the planet to make sure it was safe last episode.
Cool to think of it as part of a trilogy!! So excited for the next season (tho i have a feeling they're going to make us wait a while 😭)
"The Spies" was a biblical reference to Moses' Twelve Spies, a group he put together from the various tribes to scout ahead of the rest. Which was exactly what happened in that ep.
You might not like this season nearly as much as the other two (I personally did) but you can't deny that they know how to do finales.
You can deny that though lol. Cause this finale was the worst finale of all three seasons
This was still the worst finale of all 3 seasons
Nah this finale felt underwhelming.
what? why not? why are you telling people what opinions they can have?
That's you're opinion, I have my own opinions. i honestly only care about my own opinions
I’m glad they kept the story focused on the mandalorians! No wild cameos just dinn grogu! Lol
I don't care what anyone says but I love this show❤❤❤ Love the finale❤❤
@@EthanRom it was a MagnaGuard staff, designed by the TradeFed to combat lightsabers
@@98Emile oh yea that’s the word I was looking for
This series setups interesting possibilities for Din's emotional and spiritual journey that wind up doing nowhere.
In case you are wondering who the second spy was, it is Din Djarin's R5 unit. When he revealed to the pilot the location of the Mandalorians.
I figured that since Mando got R5 to help him on Mandalore, restoring IG could solve Nevarro's Needed-Marshall Problem. And See Mando, R5 is good to have around after all (it felt great hearing in the ep Mando call R5 his Buddy). Your Astromech Purchase instead of IG Recovery worked out in the long run. R5-D4, Welcome to Clan Mudhorn!!!! {as well as technically as Mando's 2nd Child!!!}
Feel like Moff isn’t dead or that Moff is, and the clone version that opened his eyes & pushed his way out with the force and we will see him crawl out in the next season or in one of the other series
Yeah moff with the force and a daddy problem would be crazy
