The camera has timer interval and record only a fraction of day. Unless he's like welfunded science hippies who access to solar panel, multiple batteries and excess memory drive to record WHOLE day.

Most birds there is a period of time that the parent birds continue to care for their fledglings, provide food and show them where and how to get food and other survival skills. They may feed the cuckoo chick but it seems they realize it’s a dupe, hence why it isn’t getting fed like their own chicks.

@@vargrei09it's not unusual for the cuckoo's biological mother to come murder the entire host family nest if her own egg she laid into theirs doesn't successfully hatch & fledge. If she flies by and suddenly her cuckoo baby is not in there, she will assume that it died. And the parents must have hurried off & carried it off somewhere to not draw bugs to their nest. It's another part of why people really hate the cuckoo & considerate evil, don't even want to see them grow up to reach the age where they can parent new chicks, similar to how people hate the cowbird. They're very alike in how they parasitize nests. I think cuckoos would be a lot less easy to hate if the cuckoo mother just had another way to deal with it, if her egg doesn't hatch or live long. This happens to all birds, so I do agree with this point .. Like, what makes her think she's so special lol- that ALL of her eggs MUST successfully fledge or else whole bunch of innocent babies need to be killed. And I mean, killed. Not EATEN, just destroyed, viciously. A RUclips Creator drove 5 km to re-home two surviving chicks that were attacked by the cuckoo mother. That person watched the new nest, things were going well until the mother cuckoo found that nest 😢 and she only massacred the two from that nest she laid her egg into.. that was really sad. Although it could have been much sadder, still, what is the point when they are not anywhere near their own mother, and her baby is already gone? And this nest they'd been taken to wasn't destroyed so she could parasitize that one, so as of you seemed like it was revenge making out on the least responsible entity. And if those host parents were really to blame, why do they want to put another chick with them? It seems like finding a different nest brings a much better chance of survival, & less trouble, vs killing a whole bunch of baby birds & making the others go through an additional gestation process. Maybe even waiting for those birds to create a whole new nest itself because of cuckoos own little tantrum, when it's perfectly normal to have a bad egg or genetically weak chick. Sorry, that's one part of it that gets me really riled up. Nobody wins when the cuckoo mom comes to murder baby birds, so that things have to go just how she would like them to 😢
The cuckoo did work hard, it pushed these chicks and the remaining eggs out of the nest. The chicks got pushed out a few times but they were placed back in the nest by the person collecting the video footage
poor cuckoo child is suffering a lot from this sweet creature that doesn't hurt anyone...parents should have the right amount of children to be able to feed everyone
