@@SA-pl6zl plug the actuator into the connect. And leave it hanging. Don't install it. If it is moving then it was installed wrong. If it does not move then you have to check the wiring. Might have break in the wire or a fuse blown
@@AJIMPORTS i did plug and was hanging and the gear was not moving. And also i checked the connector voltage with voltmeter and it shows 4.30 some like that wiring is also good. Are there anything needs to be done after plugging new actuater ?
I have a 2005 Honda Accord. I removed the two crews from the bottom that go directly into the plastic body. I also removed the bottom right screw that passes first through the bracket and then the other similar screw that is to the left. With that, I was able to rotate the bracket to clockwise and remove the actuator. By doing this, I didn't have to take out the top screw, which is the most difficult to remove. The installation is done i reverse order. Hope that helps. One comment about the video: I believe it's very helpful, especially because of the limited space. Great job, and my best regards and thanks to the author.
I have and 2006 EX Sedan, same part number as your 05?
Honda calls the actuator a "Motor Assy., Temperature Driver." or "Motor Assembly, Mode." the Honda part number is the same for both. 79160-SDA-A01
(double check with your VIN. Dunno if dual zone HVAC and single zone HVAC use the same part) thanks OP!
Thanks for taking the time to post this. I hope it was helpful to others as it was to me.
Great camera work-i could see everything perfectly!!
Thanks for the tip. My Accord has exactly the same problem. Another vlog suggested that the A/C unit lacked freon. Others say its the actuator like in your video. I'll definitely try this diagnostic first. 👍
Yes I always suggest doing the free test first. Pull the actuator out and do the test. Should take ten minutes at most. Best of luck
@@dinbee4611 what was the problem of your car? was it the actuator exactly?
@@stripecatflippangitnamecha8721 Yes looks like it was. Either the actuator, knob switches or the wiring/connectors were faulty. I was able to get it to work by turning the dual temp knob of both driver/passenger side a few times and jarring the actuator w/out removing it, tighten wiring connectors and somehow I got it to work. Both the vents now have cool air. Presently I don't dare touch the dual climate control knob of the passenger side ever since and just kept it on sync to avoid a relapse.
Exact same ac things right cold right driver side vent lukewarm and left hot. Checked the low pressure ac, it was cold and was so def didn’t need any freon. TYSM for video.
Replaced the actuator on my 2006 Honda Accord EX. The top screw is really tough to get out an put in but you can manage to get a screwdriver in the right position by going at it from the top with a slight angle. The new actuator works well. I did purchase an OEM pert off of Amazon.
I used a small screw driver to get the top bolt out the second time I did it. The smaller one does help. But it is a very crappy location none the less.
Thank you so much for showing me what the actual problem was. All that was wrong in my case was the little lever was detached from the motor, knob works again now
happy it was a simple fix.
My accord have the same problem, thanks for your video.
Thanks for your video! I watched your video and ordered the Honda OEM part that comes with the metal bracket, replaced it and fixed my problem with Cold vent on the passenger side and Hot vent on the driver side. Now my HVAC is working perfect evenly on both sides. Like everyone had experienced, the TOP SCREW is most difficult to get out. You'll a UNIVERSAL PIVOT screwdriver. Good vid was helpful, had to change mine.
Thank you for this video!!! I have a 2007 Accord EXL and had hot air coming out of driver side vents, cold air coming out of passenger side. Heard clicking/fluttering noises from the dashboard. Took it to the dealer who wanted to replace supply lines and possibly compressor for over $1,000. I declined to investigate more. Found this video after googling about the problem and people mentioning the blend door actuator. The noises were coming from the actuator. After watching this video I was able to remove the actuator (I had to also remove a metal bracket that was preventing me from removing the top screw on the actuator). I found another video to open up the actuator and attempt to clean it out - going to try that first before ordering a new one. Thanks again!!!
Could you post that other video by any chance?

Awesome!!! I've been trying to figure out what this damn noise is! FInally I can repair it! haha
What does the noise sound like?
Its a pain to get the top screw out of the actuator, but if you remove the two 12mm bolts that hold a metal support to the firewall that is in the way of the actuator top screw, it makes it easier to remove the actuator, just a suggestion.
No kidding, this step is a must, and it’s not obvious from the video. Thanks for sharing!

Hi
after removing the valve, you can see inside as if the valve is not fully closing. could this be the reason for the heating failure? passenger side is ok. driver side is blowing cold.
Thanks
Good video, thank you. But how do you know if it has enough freon and that it is fully charged?
I had mine tested to make sure I did not have a leak in the ac system. So I knew that was not the problem.

Thanks for taking the time to share. My question is how many air actuators do 2007 usually have in total? It seems like my all my vents are out. It was only the one in the middle initially now it seems like it's all 3 (driver side, middle vents and passenger side). Also, how hard is it to change the actuator for the middle vents? @@blackestknight1.0 but before you do anything buy a 10 dollar can of freon and make sure your ac system is charged. Dont want to waste money. Also you can just remove the actuator from the driver side and manual open or close the vents to make sure the actuator is really the problem
@@AJIMPORTS Thanks a mill, bruv. I'm going to work on it this week. Appreciate the help.
Thank you for this video. I used it to install the new part in my 2004 Acura TSX. I have a slight problem, the peg for the black door does not fit all the way into that slit. After installation everything was working fine until I began to move around my temperature bc the peg slipped out. I bought the part from AutoZone. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Compare the old part and the new one. Maybe there was damage on the new one or the actuator is different. If they are the same reinstall. I had that issue also at first. I had the white flap connecting to the wrong arm on the actuator. The black arm goes to the bottom of the part. Make sure the actuator is set like how it was in the video. Once it's bolted in place it should not pop out. Check to see is the arm on the box are bent or broken.
@@AJIMPORTS so i finally was able to get in there again and its the same as the old one. The white peg is to the white slit and the metal peg is to the black slit like the video. Once i start messing with the temp, the metal peg slips out, its not long enough and the piece is completely screwed in.
@@krissiaosorio90 just to confirm you purchase the one correct one via the VIN number because my accord has three different ones. I will take a look at my car tomorrow and see which connects. Hi. In a car with dual zone AC, is there a blend door actuator for each passenger and driver side or only one?
They will be two. One will be on the passenger side in the same location.
Do recommend recharging the a/c after changing the blend door actuator?
If the are is cold on one side then your ac is working fine. Fix the blend door first then see what happens. If you feel the system is not as cold as you like then recharge it at a shop.
How did you manage to get the top mounting screw back in? I can’t even begin to get it lined up in that tight space.
Once I lined up the arms on the actuators started with the lower screws then the top one. It went in easy. But if the arms not lined up thats where I had issues.
@AJ Imports is this the actuator that controls that controls the distribution of cold air..? My car the driver side blows hot while the other side blows cold.
Yes it control the blend doors on the driver side. You can unscrew it from the box. Then move the two levers. If you get cold air then the actuator not working. Or press the temperature from hot to cold and see if it moves like in the video. If it does not, most likely your actuator is bad.
@@AJIMPORTS Its for an 03 Honda Accord 2.4l. The advice works the same for the 03-07 generation, right?

As the video shows. Just take out the actuator and move it by hand. This way you can test the system with out spending any money.
This sounds like me, in an 09 accord lx. Did yours end up being a door(s)?
@@glennweaver5636 haven't heard the ticking noise in a while so am not sure if that did the trick since I've done other work. But that wasn't the problem with my AC. It was seals abs something else.
If that white flap doesn’t go down while the black peice does as well then it’s stuck in the heat passage valve?
Both side should move freely. If one don't move. You most likely have a issue inside the hvac box under the dash board
@@AJIMPORTS yeah kuz I just removed everything and I checked to make sure the blend door motor is moving and it is from hot to cold I also have dual ac as well but that big white flap peice isn’t going down I hear it’s called a heat passage valve

07 accord with heating issue. That's the title.
My compressor kicks on and my ac is charged with Freon but my air still blows warm for some reason. Could it be this one door actuator for the whole car? I have a coupe 05’.
Does your car have duel zone climate control. If so it should have two actuator one on each side. Follow the step in the video to test your actuator should take 5 minutes to see if it is the problem.
Hello! My 2012 Accord SE just started blowing regular air, no a/c, but only if the driver's side door is closed. I can only get it to blow a/c if I have the driver's door open. Do you think that this could be the problem?
Thats a weird issue. Having the door open or close would not have any effect on the ac coming on. Turn the ac on and open the door. Check the engine bay to make sure the ac compressor clutch is spinning. To me it sounds like wiring issues.
Is there a way to clean the gates first and test them before replacing them?
You can try to fix it. But most time in order to open the actuator you have to break it.
Hey I have a issue that’s somewhat similar. My a/c and heat blows out strong it’s just where the air blows out above the radio, it doesn’t blow strong like everywhere else it only seeps out. How can I go about the situation? Do I need a new actuator also? Thank you.
Did you ever find the problem?
if the actuator is going bad, does it affect the fan speed because when it acts up the fan speed on 3 feels like 2
Normally the fan speed it control by the fan speed resistor On the over over motor. If the actuator is going bad it would not allow the vents to move.
Im working on a 98 honda accord dx and the blower doesnt change modes. I was able to change it from the floor vents to the vents oisnted at your gace but it wont go back to floor/defrost mode. Will this part fix that as well? I dont have an issue with ac or heat, just the modes wont switch positions. Thanks in advance.
The climate control is known to go bad in those accord. I would check to see if the motor that contol the vent position is getting power when you select the mode. That will confirm if the motor is bad or the climate control.
Hi I just wanted to ask will I have to do this same process if my air conditioner is doing it in the opposite side? My driver side is cold and passenger is hot.
Thanks in advance
Yes most likely its the same. But you can add freon in the car just to make sure the ac system is full charged.
Thank you soooo much!!!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🤩🤩🤩🤩
Question: If the actuator is bad, wouldn't that also affect the air flow from the drivers heater vents as well?
The actuator was bad. It was not allowing any ac to flow on the driver side. The car has dual zone so that's why I only saw the issue on the driver side. If it was a single zone then both the driver and passenger side would not change from hot to cold.
What else could it be? Relay is fine, this part is fine also. The compressor is working, a bit colder air from the passenger deflector (near the window) but the driver side blows hot af, no matter how cold I set it up.
Take off the blend door actuator and manually move the flap on the hvac box. If that does not change the temperature. Then go In to the engine bay and manually flip the heater control valve that is connect to the heater core line. Those go bad and some time are stuck
I have 03 accord that only blows through the side vents and the defroster do both need replaced
Sounds like blower motor resistor or your center vent actuator not working. Check there first and manual move those arms on the vent before buying anything.
Will this part if it's bad not make the ac clutch kick on I checked fuses and relays ac still not kicking on
No the AC still work. But it will only get cold on one side of the car. Check my video on installing the AC. I show how to check the ac compressor to see if it's working or broken.
So mine has the black clip that u mentioned that changes the hot and cold broken what can do to fix it that piece fell behind that dash
Ooo. If the gear is still there maybe you can get a used handle from a junk yard or someone parting out. Don't think the dealer sells them new. Or you will have to buy a new hvac box. And that's a lot of work.
thanks for the info! but im having a specific problem with my 05 accord. The blend door works, but the MODE door does not, and I can't find a video on a MODE DOOR for any vehicle so far! any help would be greatly appreciated

Sorry For the long question by the way
Take the actuator out and move the handle of the hvac box to see if that changes the air coming out. If it does not change check to make sure the heater valve on the hose going to the heater core is working. Yeah and a lot of the grease from the switch came off too but the driver side 2nd vent Is blowing warm air just not as warm as the passenger side and the first vent by the headlights switch is blowing cool air The switch won’t stay up when the AC is off but when I turn it on and flip it up it stays in position until I turn it off or lower the temperature it comes back down but won’t go back up When setting the temperature back to high it feels like it gets warmer but then it gets a little cooler Like it’s cycling between different temperatures
@@anthonystark4135 if you manually move the arm and the hvac once you remove the actuator. And it gets warmer. Then it's the actuator that's bad. Does the arms on the actuator move once you remove it and leave it plugged in.
One issue I was having is the actuator was only going half way. So when I compared the range of motion on a new one that's when I realized it was broken.
But I always make sure its to manually test the arms on the hvac box before buying anything.
Also try cleaning out your heater core and checking the heater valve in the engine. I have seen those broken internal and blocking the flow of antifreeze causing inside not to be as warm.
Question. Should I install it at a specific temp in the car or does it not matter?
Does not matter. Once you turn the car on. It will reprogram
Does this apply if the problem is with passenger side blowing cold air when I have the heat on?
Yes. The passenger side also has the same parts. Just less space due to the airbag.
I have an acura tsx 2005 and experiencing the same issue. My passenger side feels colder but the driver side is hot. Could it be this or the freon is low? Any video no how to check for low freon?
Since you say one side is cold then I would believe its the same issue as In the video. You would need special equipment to check freon. The easiest way is to go to a autopart store and buy the freon that comes with the gauge and install it. Like in the video you can take out your actuator and manual move the lever. That is a free way to check the system on the side with the hot air.

Could be the actuator making noise when you are changing moods. Try to listen when you change the temp to see if it's coming from the actuator.
I lowered the temperature to see if it would move but it didn't. Then I removed the part and it didn't cool the air. Any suggestions on what I should do or check next? Thank you.
When you removed the actuator did you move the arms manually on the air box. If you get cold air it shows that the ac is working correctly and the actuator is the issue. Are you getting cold air on one side of the car.
I did move the arms manually and it was still blowing warm air. I am going to get some Freon tomorrow and check out if that's also the problem. I'm hoping i can also find a way to do a self diagnostic.
And both sides blow warm/hot air. At first it was only the passenger's side then it was both.

i have a 2018 accord , when i move the temperature from 72 to low the ac temperature remains the same. if i go up to 80 + than it changes to warm air. on a cold day it blows hot air from 85 to 58. until i hit low then it changes. i'm thinking its the actuator. any comment please.
Is the AC system fully charged. Try changing the temp on the driver side to low and the passenger side to high. Then switch. Thats the best way to test the actuator. If both sides are not cold then check to make sure you have enough freon in the ac system
will this help the problem that my ac only works when it wants to?
No. Most likely you have a issue with the ac system. Maybe you don't have enough freon or too much. Or the compressor might be going bad. But you would have to check the system.
@@AJIMPORTS or like in my case the electric clutch was going bad so it would engage then release for a while only to re-engage. New clutch pain to install but alot cheaper than a compressor and recharge.
What year is this for. I have a 2014 and having the issue blowimg warm out of drivers and cold out of passengers. Doesnt do it all the time though.
This was a 2007. Might be the same issue just a different part number and location. Keep checking I'm sure someone had the same issue too
@@AJIMPORTS thanks I have been looking and nothing I am finding addresses the 2014 model.
I think I have this problem but on the passenger side blows warm hot air
What year Honda are you doing ???
2004 to 2007.
Is it just the exact opposite if it's only blowing hot air on the passenger side?
Most likely. You can do the same test I did. Remove the solenoid on the passenger side and move the arms. If it works you know the solenoid is bad. It's a few test and takes about 15 minutes to do.
@@AJIMPORTS Thanks!
Will this fix the direction of air? Like to face, defrost or feet?
No. This is what control the temperature. The mode control is on the passenger side. If you google it actuator location you will see it. Have to remove the glove box
@@AJIMPORTS got it thank you very much wasn’t sure which of the two it was
@@AJIMPORTS I’m having this same problem direction of air but mine honda is dual. Would the mode be in the same location as a non dual honda?
@@mobbinkorrectly this was for the mixture of air. If you have the direction issue it has its own actuator. It's on the passenger side. Have to remove the glove box.
Where can I find the actuator part number for 2006 Honda? Thanks!
Check any honda part store online. Put in your vin so you get the correct one. They have a few different options.
Is this the same for the 2010 Honda Pilot ?
No. But the same testing process can be done.
I have an 07 accord. Cold air blows out of all vents but when i switch to heat it blows out of the side vents but not the middle 2 vents.
Seem like the same issue. The vent might be stuck or the actuator went bad. You have to locate the actuator that control the center vents.
I actually have the exact same issue on my 2007 accord. For a while my AC came out of all vents and heat only out of my 2 side vents, now my AC only comes out on passenger side. Not sure what combination of my bent doors are broken haha
Hey brother, great video!
I have an issue. My actuator wasn't working at all, so I removed it and opened up the module. I cleaned off all the loose grease on the electrical contacts, and made sure none of the teeth on the gears were stripped or broken. The gears looked and worked fine. Reinstalled and now the actuator only initializes to one certain position...and stays there forever. No matter where I position the arm, once I turn on the car, it always goes back to that one same position, then never responds to any climate control commands. Is the actuator broken or is there some sort of reset procedure I need to do? The motor should be fine since the arm swings...but it seems like it has a memory and only goes to one spot. Thanks.
I would put the temp to max hot or max cold before removing the actuator so once you install it. its already at its limit. i had the same issue before and this is what i did. if it does not work you might have a sticking spot on the gear, and will need a new actuator
@@AJIMPORTS Thanks so much for the quick reply! Initially, the arm would rotate endlessly and never stop until I turned off the ignition. Then after I cleaned it it only initializes to that one position and stays there. I'll try your suggestion and see how it goes.
Unfortunately I was dumb and tried to perform the repair in haste, and didn't mark the position of the arm before opening it up and reinstalling. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but hoping maybe it does so I won't have to replace it.
How many blend doors does a 05 honda accord ex-l 6cyl have?
I believe 3. The driver, the passenger and the vents for the windows.
I have the opposite, driver side heater blows hot but passanger side is cold.
AC works both sides.
Check the channel I have two additional videos on the issue. Most likely it's a blend door actuator on the passenger side not working. But the other videos have more indept repairs.
But can I wedge it up or down to allow hot air or cold air to come through so I don’t have to buy a new part? That is the question 🤔
Yes in the video I said to move the arms to see if it works. If it does just zip tie them together in that position
And everyone it is completely different for thw Coupes.
Will it work for a 2007 Honda Pilot?
Never worked on one before but i believe the pilot would have the same system. so take a look and see if it has a actuator also.
@@AJIMPORTS I’ll definitely find out. I’ll let you know.👍🏼
What about if the black piece @3:13 happens to break off? Can that be repaired? 🙏🙏🙏
Ooooo that's problem 😕. If you have the parts you can try to glue them together. Beside that you have to remove the dash and remove that box
