If you press the resample button while you are setting your start or end points it will snap to the nearest zero cross point to minimize any clicks. Saves a little time vs adjusting it with the envelope mode.
That is useful! And to help new users to understand, If a loop starts or stops in the middle of a wave form, your speakers will make a pop sound due to their physical movement. So it is best to make a cut when the wavepoint is neutral.
You are a terrific teacher man. I remember watching your MPC videos a few years back, and now as a new owner of the 404mkii I'm here listening again. You have a knack of taking concepts and breaking them down and then, a few minutes later you always manage to repeat the idea again so that if someone missed it the first time, you almost always touch on it again to drive the point home. That's a skill as a tutor/teacher. Thanks for these videos, incredibly useful and fun to work alongside.
Re: SDHC cards less than 32GB are the only ones that will work when updating. With the new update you can use SDXC up to 1TB. Thanks for the video it was really helpful!
Hey Ricardo, man I’m sorry to hear that it took so long for you to receive it. Also congratulations on your new sampler I’m sure you’re going to fall in love with it. It’s been such a fun device for me. Blessings and thank you so much for the feedback
Thanks alot, this is really the only video i needed to see, you actually hit everything you come across when sampling, truncating, performance chopping, one shot mode, choke groups.
I would love to see something about the MkII's song mode if you feel like putting a video out on it. I have an OG 404 a friend gave me years ago, but I never really vibed with it because it doesn't have a full sequencer like an MPC. I've seen that the new ones have a song mode, but some people say it isn't really fleshed out enough. I'd love to hear your opinion on it
Hi nice vid! A dumb question: it’s basically a 1 track pattern sampler? Can’t play multiple patterns simultaneously? So a chorus is just 1 pattern with multiple samples on it, but I can’t adjust volume levels of chorus samples re-sampled eg bass vs snare vs kick , is this correct? Thanks
Hey is SP404 MK2 easy to hook up to my Akai MPC one what's the best way to get the best out of it thanks -- also can it be used with my denon prime 4 dj controller thanks allot
I just got my 404 after 5 months on preorder... and I have been watching a ton of videos, but this one RIGHT HERE SON... This is what I was looking for... big ups
Hey brother, thank you so much for dropping by with this request as I am working on a video going over the pattern sequencer as we speak this comment really helps me out to tailor the video a little better. When you mention on how to extract to the computer, are you talking about on stemming out your beats into your DAW for mixing?
@@malobeats Well I'm not sure about him, but yeah I would like to see a demo on that Lol. I have Ableton but I'm sure the process would b similar across the board.
Is there a way to fix the scroll wheel to be more precise. Mine sometimes feel kind of loose. I’m not sure if it only me or my Roland came with this defect.
Hey brother, I highly appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and I’m excited for you hopefully you get yours very soon. I got some new cons in coming out on the next few weeks with this machine as it’s been very fun to use
I appreciate you dropping by brother, it’s a bummer they have these on back order still but hopefully they will to get them back in stock sometime soon.
Hahahah I know what you mean, well if you do get this along with the MPC I’m sure you’re gonna have a lot of fun. This this thing is an amazing companion to the MPC.
WOW thank you man. You’re an awesome educator. You explain clearly what you’re doing and in this 20 mins as a sp404 nube i learnt more that umpteen other ‘how to’s’ done with lightening speed muscle memory workflow style thats impossible to follow. Ya got a new subscriber dude😘😘
Hey brother, thank you so much for these words of encouragement you have no idea how much it means. I have not announced it yet but I am working on a course for the MPC and really would want to do one for the SP404 down the road as well I’ll be releasing more information about this later but I really appreciate you bringing this up as he gives me feedback. Blessings to you brother
Hey brother, I should have mentioned it but other SD cards will work as long as it doesn’t go over 32 GB after doing some research I think the brand that I was using was not reading it so you can try your other SD cards out and they could work it was just the one that I had that was not working.
Hey brother, thank you so much for taking the time and watching the video and also sharing your feedback it really means a lot coming from you. Blessings to you brother 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I don't have the machine yet, but if the 32G size limit for the card is an issue for anyone, just make dmg images with disk utility on MacOS to archive your stuff. Think of the card just as a transfer device.
I wished I found your channel first ! You explained and demonstrated this so clearly and well it helped with my understanding! Do you have a resampling tute for the 404 on your channel? Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video tute!😊

I second that- he brings it back around full circle at some points.
same here !! except it’s been within a year of first finding his page and now having my sp!!
Re: SDHC cards less than 32GB are the only ones that will work when updating. With the new update you can use SDXC up to 1TB. Thanks for the video it was really helpful!
I guess that depends on the version, you're upgrading from. I successfully upgraded from 3.x to 4.x with a 64 Gb card.
If you turn gate off before you chop your chops wont be gated
This is definitely one of the best 404 mk2 tutorials i've seen.
Ya man.moving from the 303 to this...finally..been 15yrs...got so many samples..so little time..😅
This the Sp bible right here. Thanks bro….. I just got my late November order yesterday. So thanks for the head start, Time to study everything.

I appreciate you putting this vid together. I'm sure ill revisit this one if i ever get my 404...
Thank you Richard, yes I hope they can ship these out soon because I know a lot of other people have theirs on back order
I've been using 64gb card. Wonder if I'll have any problems or did they update firmware?
For anyone looking for a decent SD card for the Mk2, I found the Nintendo Switch branded ones work amazingly well on the unit, 128gb for$8.
I Hope Life Is Treating You Great ❤❤❤❤
It sure is. Thank you so much. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
The latest firmware supports bigger SD cards, using a 128gb right now

Hey. This is helping me a lot. Thanks!
I highly appreciate you for taking the time and sharing this feedback with me 🫡. I’m glad this was helpful
great tutorial. one question: why did you change the sample BPM? wouldnt that defeat the purpose of the bpm sync button
When I want to adjust FX how to I get off pitch screen to Fx control screen? I keep having to turn off Fx by touching to access parameters. Thanks
does the file type matter when importing samples?? .wav .aiff .mp3 ??
Thanks for the tutorial. Is there anyway I can adjust the tempo without affecting the pitch of sample or vice versa?
Does the MPC LIve II also have the BPM sync feature or do you have to tune everytime you change the BPM?

My friend can You make a tutorial with both mpc one and sp404 Mk2
Hi there can I sample RUclips straight from my phone?
should be able to make you sync bpm without affecting pitch
Thank you for this Tutorial! I didn't know about all those little shortcuts you can make. it makes sampling and chopping so much more organic!
how do you get it so that it just waits for input when sampling? My 404 makes me hit record and then starts a metronome and I have no idea why.
Why don’t you get a preview straight away when scrolling through the folder content? Why press sub
Great video! Have you tried “END SNAP” just wondering if this feature would help to record a perfect loop.
Hey mojo, That’s a great observation I have not tried doing that but would definitely try it out next time I’m sampling and let you know.
@@malobeats l don’t have mine yet that would be helpful, thanks.
Hey you
I got my SP404 today and your videos are helping me a lot. Thanks and greetings from Cologne Germany
Great!!
Hey this means a lot 🙏🙏🙏 thank you
What cable do I use to link sp404mk2 to my mac
I’m new to SP 404 ,
thank u for the teaching !!
For some reason when I hit record and choose a pad, I don’t get the wait screen it just says record. How do I fix this?
Is there some sort of tuner to detect the key of samples on board the 404?
I just got my 404 after 5 months on preorder... and I have been watching a ton of videos, but this one RIGHT HERE SON...
This is what I was looking for... big ups
Hey bro! this is very helpful explaining vid for me! Could you make a video tutorial how to record paterns and extract to the computer? Thank you

We want to learn more on sp -404 og 🙏 and how to editor on pc 💻 cf card 🃏 👍🙏🙏🙏
I just learned that the mark button marks the start and end. 😂 I guess I never use it like that.
How do I auto stretch the sample to play entirely over 32 beats or 16 beats etc?
Great video, Malo. An outstanding accompaniment to the MPC One or Maschine MK3. Thank You for the outstanding content. Blessings!
So there is no way to upload whole sample pack banks all at once, you can only import one sound into each bank at a time?
Your accent reminds me of Tuco from Breaking Bad.
Can you change the loop tempo without changing its pitch?
how do you select "zero crossings" in the sample start and end points?
Your videos are really instructive and easy to follow along with, thanks so much! 👍
You're very welcome!
Great video and even better tips 🙌🏼Thank you and just keep going like this 👌🏼
