Cool place but to many people for me to go see...thanks Dave for the trip with you and Bella ......big place up that way. I like the trees and critters in the woods better......Janice *( Arizona )
Really interesting! I paused and did some reading on the Hoover Dam and it was fascinating. The furthest west that I have ever been in the US is Oklahoma/Kansas starting from NY state. Hopefully when travel is opened up I can continue across the country and into the desert. Cactus are my fav plants. :^)
Really great video, music went really well with the shots. I was thinking the same thing about the number of stops you would have to make for pedestrians at the crosswalks, it would be maddening!
A lot of people/crowds, as the road now is one way in, and one way back out. The older design was driving over the dam on your way to Vegas until,,911, did things change since then!
I walked across to Hoover dam and down in the belly of it. That security detail if you stop your vehicle they will swarm you. I witnessed it,happen when I was there. I am parked in that very spot where you’re at. Enjoy your journey. But most of all be safe. ☕️🍩🍂
Sure has, now a new interstate has traversed it (Interstate 11.). The road across the dam only allows a way across, and then a turn around. The old days allowed crossing on to Vegas. I miss that area. I moved from Boulder City, Nv last year.
Who were the people who waved that you took a still of? It’s amazing they let vehicles on top of dam it would be an easy target. If I was in charge no vehicles would go over
Hey doing nice video I was looking at her twin of your RV If you don't mind me asking what kind of mileage you get And have you had any problems Major problems I'm not a mechanic .Is it that big of a pain in the butt to drive something that big I was looking for a class C or small school bus I'm a big guy 6 foot 300 pound And 100 pound dog. Is parking really that bad with it ? I'm probably gonna tow Trike behind it. thanks 🎅
Rule #1 if you have to ask the gas mileage of an rv, chances are, you cant afford it. That's not from me, but a general question, with answer response. lol, a rookie mistake, have a great day---
@@azmark1956 I can afford it But why should I throw money away on an engine that's not Going to give me good gas mileage.I swear I really wanna go diesel .
diesel the only way to go. Fuel is more expensive, but the mileage out weighs it. The older diesels with high mileage generally cost a lot more to keep on the road, as repairs are more. So, with that, a gas engine may be the ticket. I have a 1996 12 valve cummins truck 2500, with Only has 100k on it. Its taken me from az to florida at an average of 13/17 miles pg. I pulled a 2006 regal prowler at 24 ft. 8k lbs loaded. That's exceptional mileage, as the traditional motorhome class A gets about 5 to 8 miles pg. I haul a quad in the truck, so I prefer a TT set-up. (bumper pull) , A fifth wheel would not allow that. Hope it helped.
Just found your channel last week and really enjoying it. I've been to Hoover Dam in late May and it was like a blast furnace. There are some really intersting stories about the men who built it - the challenges and dangers they faced. Some did actually die from heat related issues. Good to go in the much cooler off season.
got my Bella fix for the day. so precious licking your hand. oh my goodness her is such a sweet puppy (hugs to you belabella)
Well that was a damn nice video of the Hoover Dam. Keep up the great work Dave. Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventures.
When they opened the bridge they closed the dam road on the Arizona side to reduce traffic on the dam. Nice footage of the dam.

Love this video. I don't think I've ever been there. Awesome scenery.
Great video. I've been the dam 3 times on 3 trips to Las Vegas. Our first trip was before they made the big bridge. Brings lots of memories.

Another great video Dave. What beautiful rocks and mountains.
Thanks E S!
I'm glad to be seeing it on RUclips instead of fighting traffic and crowds. 👍 😆

A lot has changed since I toured the dam back in the late 60's.

was that sheldons van life waving?? Dave , where do you find your video music, it's great!
I don't think it was them. All of the music I use is downloadable in the youtube creator library. :)
Who were the people who waved that you took a still of? It’s amazing they let vehicles on top of dam it would be an easy target. If I was in charge no vehicles would go over
They were complete strangers that saw me recording....pretty funny! :)
That close and you didn't even walk down?!?!
Down where?
Down to the dam and look over the edge!
uh, no thanks!

I get around 7.5 mpg on the highway.
You’ll get better gas mileage on a newer diesel

The history really is fascinating!
