That’s one of the reasons I love Brutal Doom, and you might too. There’s a dedicated “Fuck Yourself” key as well as a key that allows you to flip enemies the bird. Brilliant stuff.
As someone who grew up playing the evil dead games and consumes all things evil dead, I'm so happy the games found their mechanical and comedic footing with regeneration. Hail to the king is unplayable because of the filthy tank controls, but has a pretty good story. A fistful of boomstick improves on the terrible controls, but has unfunny, synthetic writing. Regeneration is the successful 3rd child of this game trilogy that went on to make a name for itself and graduated top of its class with all A's.
So i do agree, but i did love the whole ash going to the future were he mess it up and the deadlites took over. And yeah the first one on dreamcast was horrible but I liked the whole expanding of the story lore. (At lest Bruce never fails at being corny and campy!)
I always wanted the 4th one to be him crashing through that portal at the end of regeneration into the dead head fred universe, and the story being those 2 working together to stop a deadite mob. It would be so funny to watch those 2 one lining eachother through the whole game.
I honestly like this game a lot for what it is. Plus, it also has what is probably the funniest line in Evil Dead to me: "You know, your mouth is like my ass; nothing good ever comes out of it."
BetaBran it was a great game. Also can’t forget the over the shoulder shotgun blast. Or if you go to the police station to early and your jumped by 40 deadites. I’ve beaten all three. Dreamcast is the worst, but I still loved it. This one probably has the more better story of the three, with the 3ed one just taking bits a pieces from its predecessors. But almost the first half of it is you running through the forest after the amazing open scene.
In the first Evil Dead, the Evil can be summoned via recording. That would mean you could weaponize the Evil by recording the summoning incantation on a bunch of tape recorders, start the tapes and drop them from an aircraft on to enemy territory, cursing everything in the target area.
I played this game so much as a kid. When I was younger I couldn’t get past the museum level, so I’d just replay it over and over again. And when I figured out what to do I played through the game a bunch of times. Great video man, glad you’re playing a game I loved as a kid
I wish I still had this game. I remember getting stuck on a few boss fights. Don't think I ever beat it. I remember there being time travel and you go back to civil war era Dearborne and I think a museum at one point.
Museum then civil war era Dearborn. And If I'm not wrong I'm sure that the last part of the game is something like post apocalyptic Dearborn. Kinda wanna see Matt play a bit more of this.
@@thefartofthecards759 Yeah! That was the area I always got stuck on. There was a part where you had to open a gate and two big enemies came out that I remember being stuck on for a while. Damn, I wish there were more games like this I could play.

ohh SHIT and Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force! is a real fun shooter with great levels, including one that's lost space shipyard where you fight through various faithfully recreated ship styles from the show, including Klingon and TOS era Federation. play the female protag and they don't swap your female love interest to the games version of Kaiden, stuff just plays out the same but gayer. mad respect for that. DS9 the fallen is painfully hard without neverdeath cheat because of slippery-ass platforming but worth it just to wander the station's mezz
Dialogue flying by too fast on a game being run on xbox back-compat thingy is likely down to the framerate being intended to be locked at 30, i noticed a number of times it looks like the game is running at 60 - or making its best attempts to, likely due to the backward compat techniques. So the ingame 'cutscenes' are probably tied to framerate - hence doublespeed. Not a great practice, all but abandoned now - but makes sense given the date of the game.
I had Regeneration for PS2 and thought it was great, but too short. Never got to play this one, but I remember seeing a review for it on XPlay and always wanted it but couldn't find it.

Hmm, don't know any license games right of the bat, however I am currently playing "Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge" , it's pretty fun play. Extra challenge is playing invert controls because it is a open world-ish flying pirate simulator. I think you'll get a kick out of it if you have not played it yet.
wasnt there literally just a new series of Ash on Netflix a month or two back. Or - now that im thinking about it, was that aired ages back and only jus made its way to netflix.

Dude, thanks for reviewing 'Regeneration' and 'Fist full of Boomstick' I grew up with these games those two are diamonds in the rough. Most movie based suck but when it cheesy horror it fit too well. No, not a step up. Did not say that. I just think it has some neat things about it. Renegeration has better cutscenes, animation, combat and level design. I just think the over the shoulder blast, talking to characters/going on fetch quests and taking on multiple missions is just neat/different.
@@MattMcMuscles understandable, i should've commented when i hesrd you say it but i wanted to watch the whole video first, though you said it was a step up from Regeneration. Scarface on the Ps2 had one too, idk if you’d actually call them one liners tho lol
