Have you seen the movie "In A World". It's a drama/comedy movie about a woman who's father is a famous voice over artist. And she decides to try out to become the new "In A World" go-to-voice over artist because the old one retired. In reality this was a nod to Jim Cummings who made that line famous.
they really should have gone with the momentum of Doom: Eternal and started work on another Splatterhouse, doesn't need to break any records or change the industry, just be a fun and bloody game I'm sure people will buy it
Doom is basically my favorite franchise and doom eternal is my favorite game of this generation, that being said i really liked this aplatterhouse game, it would've been amazing if they made anothrr simple brawler just more polished, the combat was already good in general
Wtf this game is actually sick in aesthetic, voice-acting, and general story execution... Also like the licensed metal playing during combat. I just looked it up and the soundtrack includes High On Fire and Mastodon, two of my favorite metal bands. That's so good.
I really enjoyed this game. I'm still bummed we'll never get the sequel that was teased. All the voice acting is great and the combat was fun. Nice Red Green reference. Keep your stick on the ice.
Fun fact the original biggyman design for Sh '10 that Jay Beard had was more of a cenobite type creature but the West Mansion forum, who the final team turned to for design advice and I was a part of, insisted they change the design. We were thrilled when we saw that amazing concept art that Dave Wilkins turned it.
@@MattMcMuscles I was part of the forum that the Afro Samurai team consulted when they were trying to figure out what to focus on for redesigning bottlerockets trainwreck
@@bakka_null ah that makes sense. I noticed as the video went on they showed the main character wearing the Crack the Skye shirt more as well. Thats pretty cool they put that detail in and a bunch of good metal in the soundtrack.
It’s not the game’s fault. The model 1 Xbox 360 had (officially) a 66% failure rate. Unofficially I would say it had a 90-100% failure rate. The console was just not designed properly
I own this on Xbox 360 but I would totally buy a re-release if Bandai Namco did. Here is hoping Splatterhouse Encore along with Klonoa Encore, and Mr.Driller Encore eventually happen.
This game holds a permanent spot in my top 5 The Doll That Bled will always be my favourite composed video game song of all time too, Howard Drossin is a very underrated composer Also, I think Anarchy Reigns would be pretty fun for a future vid
Jim Cummings pretty much carried this game, and I love Josh Keaton and all, but Jm put in the work. Leggy always had a Leggy moment in every movie appearance, cause he was so cool! (Oh yeah, forgot about the Jennifer NSFW pics, and the unused pics too which were kinda tame, except for a topless one lol)
This game had its problems, but I honestly feel there's still a lot of potential for Splatterhouse as a series. I'd like something similar to the first Evil Within, only more melee based and with a plot, XD! A steep difficulty curve with a heaping truckload of satisfying kills and gore under a classic horror theme. Great video, Matt!
Really liked the intro and the mask's lines were surprisingly good. The blood and sound though... I dunno, it makes me think more of like... Splatoon than of horror movie homages. I really liked BC09 personally. Fighting regular enemies and just swinging around was really fun I thought. You can *really* see where the Content-Cutter Axe came down though, like when what was very obviously a boss fight just results in a cutscene. The bosses weren't that great anyway so no big loss I guess. I hope you do a video on it sometime! Interested to know more about what went down. I know it involved Square in some way.
I love both the original series and this game, they scratch slightly different itches but there's not many games where you're a big brute brutalizing even bigger and scarier monsters! It's been 10 years, I really hope Namco will give it a second chance and try again... although I'd be fine with both a game in this style and/or a 2D game that mimics the older games!
Some dude actually made a total conversion mod of Splatterhouse for Doom 2 not too long ago. He went so far as to recreate the art assets used in the original side-scroller. You should check it out! Splatterhouse actually has a nice aesthetic as an FPS.
I was really excited for this when it was first announced, but I didn't have a PS3, I was being a cheap end PC gamer for that console generation. Even with all the bad reviews, I'd still like to try. But I'm not going out and buying a 2 gen old console or trying to dig up one of the couple hundred copies left in the world. PC release, please Namco
I feel like the bloom on the PS3 version wasn't as heavy as the 360 version in this video. I also remember the lighting on PS3 being overall less comic-booky. Is my memory terrible or are there actually lighting differences between the two?
this game is so good...or rather fun. It has passion. It makes me feel very attached to Rick and I identify with him. Winnie the Poo is cursing at me and giving me demonic powers and approves of murder. Porn. It's amazing fun and I wish they would port this to something and continue it.
I remember that for the longest time I thought that the original to this was a Friday the 13th game. Then this came out and I put it all together. Never played this though. Guess I just had a bad taste in my mouth after it turned out there was just one Friday the 13th game and it FUCKING SUCKED!
I feel really conflicted about this one. There are some bits of inspiration here, that are very well done (especially the voice acting and camp), but it is also so full of that Xbox 360 era “edginess” that it makes me want to cringe. About all it’s missing is like a Korn and Papa Roach soundtrack, and my pain would be complete. I think that really forced, edgy tone instantly dates it and comes off as just silly. Which is unfortunate, because they definitely had some good ideas here. But I’m glad nowadays that our video game protagonists don’t need to look like walking mountains of beef/testosterone, and game devs are no longer in an arms race to make their game look more edgy than everyone else.
best part about this game is Jim Cummings voicing the mask
@Kratos47 aw thank you
That last name sounds funny with your profile pic but also Claire is bae
Very Negaduck

I use to watch my friend play this and laugh at how cat from "CatDog" kept telling him to kill and he'd reply with Dog's laugh. Good times.
Not gonna lie. This comment really reminded me of that episode where Cat went primal after Dog got on his nerves for the umpteenth time.
they really should have gone with the momentum of Doom: Eternal and started work on another Splatterhouse, doesn't need to break any records or change the industry, just be a fun and bloody game
I'm sure people will buy it
And a bunch of heavy ass music
Definitely it would be very Metal. 🤘🤘

If the "gore kills" were just as fast but elaborate as DOOMs "glory kills" it would be much more satisfying.
LETS DO SOME FUCKING CARPENTRY!!
PAINT THE WALLS RED!!
rick: "i reject my humanity doc west"
8:19- Alright whoever named these attacks in Splatterhouse 2010 deserves a medal.
I remember this game coming out and finding the nude pictures as a kid and getting terrified but ecstatic at the same time.
I really enjoyed this game. I'm still bummed we'll never get the sequel that was teased. All the voice acting is great and the combat was fun.
Nice Red Green reference. Keep your stick on the ice.
All because Jay Beard couldn't follow instructions
OMG, was that a Red Green joke?! Cuz I am THERE for that!
Fun fact the original biggyman design for Sh '10 that Jay Beard had was more of a cenobite type creature but the West Mansion forum, who the final team turned to for design advice and I was a part of, insisted they change the design. Did you work on SH?

i actually really enjoyed this game
dude is wearing a Mastodon shirt in the photo with his girlfriend, in the very beginning. That had to be on purpose.
MASTODON RULES!
Blood and Thunder plays later on, while you fight a mutated Frankengorilla :D

Not possible xbox 360 is just trash
Enjoyed this, glitches and all; unlocking the old versions was a huge plus
Jim Cummings is brilliant and I unironically love this game.
One thing I remember is that Rick's appearance in this game is based on the composer for it, Howard Drossin.
this game was lit playing it in my pre teens. I wish they made a second
I don’t think this game is that bad tbh. A perfect description of a 7/10 game.
I really, REALLY want a PC port of this.
:( same
One of my favorite games. The dlc masks are pretty cool too.

You know Matt, when I look at that rage mode I can't shake the feeling that Ninja Theory stole it's aesthetics for their DMC reboot's Devil Trigger.
This reminds me, why Rick had never appear in crossover games??
Like a guess character in Mortal Kombat or Project X Zone?
I LOVE THIS GAME!!
Matt ! Do a full playthrough of this bro ! This game was and is great play 👌
The xbox exclusive mask says "turn every arena into a red circle of death" lol
This game looks fun as hell it's like if jason was a super hero 🔥🔥🔥
dang I just realized they had Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell as the background song when you used the chainsaw lol that's so awesome!
Loved this game. I wish they’d make another one. First few levels were hard to get into. But after you get the rhythm it’s great.
Time for a double feature of the Wha happened? Episode and this

I loved this game, It was metal as fuck.
The very first room with the very first 4 actual enemies there... that is the hardest part of the entire game.
Nice Red Green quote

Turn every arena into a RED CIRCLE OF DEATH.
I'm sure a ton of people said it but it comes with the first three splatterhouse games. This really is a good game it just needed a little something
Oh shit! The dude is using a Mastodon shirt ! Cool !
Would love Matt McMuscles to play MadWorld on the Wii, speaking of other violent games he can play for demonetization. XD
Absolutely love this game. Wish I could play it on PC.
I have never heard of this and it looks so good, I’m so pissed I can’t play it on my series

the playstation mask lmfao @4:48
Holy shit we NEED A REMAKE OF THIS
The PS3 version of the mask is almost like a demonic fox
Just replayed this game Fucking love it
That chapter vignette and introduction kind of reminds me of the one for Fire Emblem 3 Houses. lol
I fucking loved this game !
hi I really enjoyed your video and I hope you make another episode 2😀👍🏻❤
Marked out at the Red Green Show reference

i wonder if Mr Mc muscles would ever take on guests for these flophouses
Ive had several.
Only Dereks like this game. I love it.
Please complete this one... I owned it back in the day but it's since been lost during countless moves:/
Did you just drop a Red Green quote?
As a non-Canadian, I just assumed all Canadians drop those.

This game needs some kind of reboot damn
This was the reboot.
Golden Axe Beast Rider on the 360 next?
Why is this still not BC on xbox 1,this needs to be on modern consoles.
Another splatteriffic game to check out? Bring on the x, x, x, and the y, y, y! Ninety Nine Nights 2 baby!

See that’s the kinda shit that got us an M rating
I can't handle listening to Winnie the Pooh narrating the splatter. Sorry Jim Cumming...

I'd pay $25 for this game on PC.
Where you did pay it from
You can emulate Xbox 360 games on pc
Oh god ya I agree I had this game sence it came out and I loved it but it.....its weird

As much as I cringe at early 2000s stuff like this and think this game went overboard.I feel like modern gaming could use like 5% of it back.

It didn't sell well yet how do you market this as "fun" or "interesting" as it may be to make people put down $30-$60 on it???
What a voice (not you matt lol) just tell RUclips its jam
Dumb and amazing at the same time?
Don’t you mean.. “DUMBAZING”?????

Playstation mask is better
This game had a really horrible development cycle which is part of why it's so wishy-washy in the gameplay
