Copilot *can* be turned off in W11 Home ... Settings > Personalisation > Taskbar > Taskbar items > toggle off the Copilot (preview) option 👍

@@dreaper5813 huh? Your comment has absolutely *nothing* to do with the observation I made. Is making a fresh comment of your own too difficult for you thus you need to reply to someone else's comment? 🙄

@@dreaper5813 I repeat my question. Why comment on MY response? Why not someone else's? As I said, my response has NO RELEVANCE WHATSOEVER to your comment.
      tl;dr - go do one you 🤡 🙄

Btw you don't even need the search bar in the start menu! Just open the start menu and start typing, it automatically starts a search

Best thing I did (work computer) was install Explorer Patcher. This let me do never combine taskbar items (which our version of W11 still doesn't allow natively), create a toolbar for instant access to all my OneDrive folders in a flyout menu, and reassemble a usable and succinct Start Button menu.

Good tips. Now if you can tell me how to put the taskbar at the top (even if I need a reliable third-party app to do it), how to attach QuickLaunch and Favorites to said taskbar without the latter losing changed icons that refuse to update when selected again, not having to confirm opening said Favorites, and have Control Panel come up consistently like previous versions of Windows, that would be great! I'm thinking of a clean reinstall to see if these can fix themselves or just go with the recommendation of avoiding Win 11 altogether and reinstalling Win 10.

There are some goodies in here!!!! How about a tutorial on multiple desktop usage? I'm sure you could have some good input on that.

The entire taskbar and Start menu for Windows 11 is CRAP! Explorer Patcher, True Launch Bar and Start11 are the only reasons I put up with Windows 11 on my personal computers.

      no....just no
Unless you enjoy still dealing with idiotic problems that a company with 40 years of experience building the maintaining an operating system still can't get under control and still controls were supposed to be your computer so. Essentially, you don't own your computer. You're leasing it every time you boot. Any pc into windows and you're connecting an online for any reasonable period of time
Those are facts, by the way, throughout multiple decades

@positronikiss It's moved for me. I'm not sure what mistakes you're making or settings. You're forgetting to disable or enable.... Which I have found from plenty of experience are just as applicable in the same in the windows world,... But maybe by the correct hardware ?
Expecting any I g p u to run today's demanding titles at 1080p or higher rez at anything above 30 fps with medium -to- highest settings is asinine.
Ya need a good dedicated video card for that.
Casual games and older games such as warcraft iii?...sure but not demanding titles like crisis, metro, dark souls...etc
